  • Dylan..here is a suggestion as well to protect canadian players. Start speaking to the different levels of government and try to be as transparent as possible. Last thing we need is the same thing happening in the USA, happening here.

Now I don't think it would happen but it would be nice to see Pokerstars start a "regulatory" team to promote a positive image with online poker with the Canadian government. Be pro-active in this and you will likely get a more favorable response when it comes to NAPTs WPTs etc in Canadian Casinos.

I think paying a little higher rake to have some quality sponsored tournaments and protected online environment (similar to pokerstars.fr) will help ease the scrutiny that Online Poker currently faces in Canada.

On another note I would like to be part of the doomswitch department. I think I would get a kick out of pushing the doomswitch when people are deep in tournaments :)

Man, Hellmuth has REALLY let himself go!
  • I was just following up the other posts that where saying Rigged, by telling a story. I don't post to much on this site, because I'm not as experienced like the rest here. I read posts to learn about poker so I can get better. I thought I would share my thoughts, I'm sorry for offending btp and ryanhall, next time i will keep it to myself, sorry guys.

I take back the rude comment too.

Appreciate the apology, I was going to make a post asking us all not to slam on our rep as we need and want his input. Please everyone, make as many "tin foil hat" posts in other threads as you want just not in this thread. Lets keep it on topic.;)
  • Hi guys, I can relate to the frustration associated with bad beats and variance. But rest assured that the PokerStars shuffle is indeed completely random and unpredictable, and no one is out to get you. While it makes for good photoshop material, there is no doomswitch.

  • What's next, he's gonna tell me there's no Santa Claus, Easter Bunny or Stephen Colbert?!
  • Still think they're in jest, compuease?

I would NOT like to second blackmagicz's request of more rake.

Also, for the tournament schedule, if Stars could add a big 75 with a big guarantee around 2pm each day (between the big 109 and big 55), it would help fill the void that that other site has left.
  • One thing Id like to mention, it was on FTP(a bit of slam but cant change it)....add a run it twice kinda thing to cash games, whether I win both or lose both I dont care, but having the option for it at least, slows down the game but to increase the rake for you guys to make everyone happy
  • and yes, totally NAPT at fallsview without capping the smaller events please, AND allow phoning in with visa to sign up!!! This is something fallsview does badly by themselfs
  • It would be nice to see a big guarantee micro omaha tourney in the Saturday lineup. I know that the 30 000 guarantee of the 3.30 micro would probably not work but maybe a 10k or 15k would be feasable?
  • How about some more tournaments to Canadian specific events. UFC events, concerts, NHL games, etc.. Paid tournaments, no freeroll nonsense where you battle it out over stages and xx,xxx players.

Can also be vacation getaways, big money toys. Stuff that I don't want to pony real $ on.
  • How about running "real" satellites to events sooner...like the pca for example...right now all we have is mini steps..make some bigger buy in steps, that lead to the ME sooner...and for christsakes, please allow us to un-register for the step events and get into a following one that suits our schedules.. Many of the satellite players are just regular guys (as opposed to grinders) trying to get seats...but they also have a life on weekends and can't waste a full day because we have to wait for a tournament we can't un-register to..or can't play steps because they take their families camping on weekends..etc etc..

One issue I'd really like Stars to deal with (and this has been brought up in MTTC on 2p2 before) is that at the top of the hour, new tournaments start usually about 2 minutes before the break is over on other tournaments. If this can be synched up better, it would make a huge difference for bathroom breaks, etc.

huge +1......what the heck is that and why hasn't it been changed soooooooooo long ago!
  • Thanks for fixing that glitch. My Kings haven't seen an ace in a couple of days now.
  • You guys are offering some good insights. It's appreciated. Will be passing these on to the appropriate people for consideration.

    Cheers,

  • I have another one.

It's great that there's an auto addon button now, BUT, how about one in the main lobby for all tournaments? So that when you're in a rebuy or cubed tourney, it just auto clicks that button so that it's impossible to forget?
  • - For the rebuy/1r1a tourneys, you could make an option during registration to allow for just the initial buy in or give players the option to double buy in.

    - Create a check-box type option to allow players to mass register for tournaments...where I check-box every tournament I want to register, and just buy in all at once...instead of one at a time. When I register, just show a list of all tournaments that I can sort buy time/buy in....this way players won't register for a 1k tourney instead of 100 tourney by mistake.

    - Allow players to customize/create their own list of tournaments. This way I can easily find all the tournaments I normally play, and using the feature above, I can register for them in less than 5 seconds.

    - Use an alternative way to initiate time banks on the very first hand of tournaments. The breaks haven't ever really been in synch. This causes a lot of people to burn their time banks on the very first hand of the tournament.
  • BCPC sats.
  • I've passed on your input ryanghall, windbreaker, DennisG. I don't foresee us running BCPC satellites, at least not at this present time unfortunately Dennis.

Below is an explanation of the recent Client update - feel free to ask any questions here.

We will be releasing a client update over the next few days. Here is the list of the most important features added:

    Hotkeys (Beta)

We will be releasing a Beta version of hotkeys in this build (Windows clients only). This feature has been tested by a small group of players on TestPokerStars over the past month and we are opening the feature to a wider audience for testing and more feedback.

In a nutshell, the feature allows you to configure keyboard/mouse shortcuts for various game actions. You can configure your PokerStars hotkeys by going to "Options" > "Hotkey Settings".

Hotkey actions include: Fold, Check, Bet / Raise, Set Bet amount to X% / BB / All in (with the option whether to bet or just set the bet amount), Activate next / previous table and some others.

You can also control which table would receive the hotkey -- the one that is active or the one that is under the mouse pointer. You can even specify a custom color for a table border that highlights the table to receive the hotkey!

We are very much interested in feedback about this new feature, so please email us yours at beta@pokerstars.com.

    Easy Seat (Beta)

We have made a number of minor improvements to Easy Seat based on the results of the wider testing. The two most noticeable bugs we fixed were Easy Seat attempting to seat players despite them being at table cap and adding players to over-long waitlists.

Easy Seat will remain in Beta for this month to be sure that we have worked all the issues out. If you would like to test out Easy Seat, please go to "Options" > "Lobby Display Options" and select "Show Easy Seat (Beta)". For best results you should enable Auto-Buyin to make the process as seamless as possible.

If you have any feedback about this new feature, please email us at beta@pokerstars.com. You can find more information about Easy Seat here.

    Time Tournaments

We are making some final adjustments to the messaging associated with Time Tournaments and are planning to deploy a wider offering this month. Stay tuned for more updates!

    Improved Table Animation (Beta)

We continue to work on improvements to the table animation to make the playing experience as nice as possible for our players. This build we are tweaking the “Full (Beta)” animation settings. We have made the animation smoother and have slowed it down a bit. Players on the default "Simplified" animation setting will not experience any changes.

If you want to try out the new animation simply go to “Options” > “Table Display Options” > “Animation” and select “Full (Beta)”. Any feedback on the Beta animation can be sent to beta@pokerstars.com.

As always, we have also made a number of other minor fixes / improvements to the client and server. These include highlighting the Notes tab after assigning a label, fixing a bug with the always apply labels option when detached chat is active, and a bug in the Hand Replayer where the flop was disappearing for Nova Theme Users.

Note: The above changes would only take effect once your gaming client has been updated, which could happen at different times for different players. Please ensure you are running PokerStarsUpdate.exe to get the update.

    Cheers,

    Dylan
  • I These include highlighting the Notes tab after assigning a label, fixing a bug with the always apply labels option when detached chat is active
this was subconsciously driving me nuts. all of a sudden naturally my tables start switching to notes section and i don't know why. ill take it though as i like other fixes so whatever...

have you fixed the synchronized breaks issues...where tourney start on breaks and make you have to run back to your computer to either play during your other tables breaks or to hit 'sit out' and blind out for five minutes.

Not sure if you have this (lemme know if you do) but simply bringing tourneys up with players auto sitting out and having to click sit in would fix this...

Will this work with my XBox controller like PokerShortcuts does?
  • I would like to see a 5.50 180 man turbo added to the sng options.

to go from a 2.50 turbo to a 3.30r (9 dollars for re-buy and add on) to a 8 dollar, causes an awkwardness when jumping up levels and causes people to take "too big of a shot" when moving up, in regards to bank roll.

    This!

But also for regular speed sng's, the jump in buy in's is absurd.

I know you have heard this complaint already but I thought I would bring it up again with gettin daize's.:)
  • Hi guys,

Some good questions/feedback here as always. I've been traveling the past couple days, but will try to get you guys some input on your questions in the next day or so.

    Thanks,

    Dylan
  • are you planning on doing an easy seat type thing for sngs?

    Hi Reibs,

It's in development, but there is no target date yet established as we're still ironing out any kinks in East Seat for Ring Games.

If I hear anything more definitive on it I'll be sure to post it in here.

  • There needs to be a wired cash out option available in Canadian funds. Currently only Euros are available for wired withdraws. It makes little to no sense for Canadians to withdraw in Euros.
  • should make an auto rebuy button for if you fall under the amount you can rebuy it will auto rebuy for you. for example if you start a rebuy with 2k. you rebuy to 4k then lose a pot and fall under 2k it will auto rebuy for you. its next to impossible to do it in time before the next hand is started.

I didn't think you ever had to re-buy.
  • happens way to often to be honest lol
