I am curious what will happen with the SCOOP events...they have already announced guaranteed prize pools. Will there be mass overlay or will they find their small print and lower the guarantees?
Just an FYI for people trying to withdraw from FTP. I was getting the "unable to connect to server" error when trying to do anything in the cashier (deposit, withdraw, etc...)
After some experimentation, I believe this is a regional/IP number thing. In order to do load balancing FTP has a number of different banking servers and I believe some of them are still online which is why some people have no issues with withdrawals.
I used a VPN to test IP numbers from Chicago, Dallas and Seattle. The Seattle IP worked for me where as the others (including my Toronto IP) did not.
So, it would seem that the west coast servers are still online.
If you have the means, get a west coast IP (via VPN) and give it a try.
Hope that helps someone.
Small update...I was mistaken the IP that worked was from Washington DC (I thought it was Washington state). So a DC area IP might do it.
Not going to overreact yet, but will monitor poker scout as well as see whether the big weekly tournaments will have their guaranteed lowered (Sunday Million, Sunday 750K, etc)
a poker stars splash came up and said my monies are safe, so there safe now...................................right ???

Here in Japan we had our own disaster a bit more than a month ago. The quake / tsunami and nuclear issue obviously worse than the poker news today. But I would like to make a point:
Take all the news you read with a grain of salt. Don't believe everything you read.Definitely not in the mainstream news. When it comes to Japan news: The mainstream media didn't hesitate a second to fear monger, exaggerate, start/spread false rumors. They would do anything to generate a few extra cents in advertising revenue.
Based on what's out there so far: I estimate this tread to be a better source of info than most news stories. Obviously one has to ignore the occasional troll.

Tried a few times and getting the same message. AP/UB I can log onto fine, but don't play there. What to do...what to do.......

The idea that PS, FT and other companies were using fake company names such flower or bike companies to process payments through the credit card companies seems like a open and shut case of illegal activity. If this is proven I cant see that they have much of a leg to stand on.
My thoughts exactly, this could get very messy. These are international charges backed up by Interpol warrants. I have a hard time believing that Stars/Tilt et all survive this in any form. Extradition warrants, etc seem to be mere formalities. Time will tell...
Any one else see this? Is the timing just a coinkydink? IMO, it is not a new idea that Americans have not only been getting funds onto, but also off of these offshore sites....why did they pick 3 days after this decision to move on it?
