  • Nightly 100k is now a 50k . . . Wetts, you gonna buy FTP at the Gov't auction?

    Don't forget your friends, eh?

Oh, and none of this truly affects me, so long as the "discussion" sites remain up and running. I am a dabbler on-line at the best of times, and not a very good one. If the Feebs come for Ching Hill, though, I might have to get medieval on them. Speaking of which, when is AJ gonna get off his ass and start the new season?

  • Innocent until proven guilty is the credo of the U.S. justice system. But the Southern District of New York is the strongest arm of the Department of Justice. It doesn't make indictments based on conjecture. It doesn't go all-in on draws. It waits until it has you drawing dead, then shoves. That the court is making these indictments public now means it is certain it has damning evidence.

Can I get a raise (future) boss? Be prepared though, I may just be awarded PFC for back wages something like Lemieux and the Penguins... :)
  • Caesars Entertainment and Party Gaming were always expected to play hardball against PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker to try to keep them out of the market. Their argument just got a lot easier.
Eventually, regulated online poker will happen in the U.S. For now, the blackout period has begun.

You think that if Stars knew that these indictments were coming, they would have proactively locked out US players in an effort to please the US Gov't. I think reacting after the fact may be too late.

From donkdown: The saddest thing about today is that the 2 people who work in the Full Tilt Customer Service Department have probably lost their jobs.

Dealing with the US government is as much fun as getting raped by a grizzly bear.

Hustler Casino launched its own online gaming site on the same day federal authorities indicted

"F" Larry Flynt and the wheelchair he rode in on.

a lot of people going to suffer tonight with withdrawal symptoms, the banana industry should skyrocket.

I'm guessing all the people who rushed to insta cash out without looking at the info we have available are the same people who open shove their stacks in whenever the pots get big and they panic?

Tom Dwan would not do well in the Pen.
    Just a thought.
Phil Ivey, however, would be gangsta on the range.

on a semi related note, buying gold now is just retarded at current prices
  • Just got this popup from Stars..
  • So the debate begins.

Will the games be softer, or tougher now?

My vote: softer. What say you.

US players make up a vast majoroty of online players and as a result have the most fish. I say they will get tougher.
  • I'll still be playing. Softer means it will take longer for me to lose, right?

They also have the most grinders/pros by this same statement. With all of those people paying for law school via internet poker now looking for a job at the 7-11, there should be a higher fish ratio maybe?

yeah, I hear that...that stupid awake at 4am to get some decent games in kinda schedule...I was doing that with Betfair and it sucked..hence my move to playnow and back to Merge again.
  • I wonder what this does to the WSOP turnout this year... Less satellite entries to the main event, but players with cash will still flock to Vegas and the smaller $1k, $1.5k and $2.5k events will still fill up.
