  • Al will have to fill in all questions regarding blinds, he is the master and I shalt not mettle with perfection, lol

I appreciate the offer, I will let ya know if we need some help once figure out how many players we will have, again thx for the willing hand
  • Just for any of you skeptics... I deposited $35. on GNUF poker (Microgaming skin) several days ago, built it up to just over $100. (playing 25/50 cent), while gaining the required 50 points to qualify. Submitted my results to 1deal and today received a $60. cheque. Extremely easy. So I made a $70. profit on Gnuf, received $60. from 1deal and got my entry into the CNIB tourney where I can win a $12,000 EPT package... Don't see how you can go wrong.. Give it a try, I personally endorse it...
  • This should be one of the biggest tournies in TO and its Free to get into!!

Come out and have a great time at this tourney, let's see how many Forumer's we can get !!
  • With the impending major winter storm heading our way overnight and tomorrow (20-40cm) will the tournament go ahead regardless?
  • I guess the tournament got delayed until Feb. now (which works out for me)

Yep, it got rescheduled on the Sunday morning because of the weather that day. It is now on Feb 2nd....
  • So who from the forum is playing in this Next Saturday (Feb 2nd)? Anyone interested in heading down a little early and grabbing lunch near the CNIB?
  • I'm playing...anyone else?
  • Just like the last event, there was a sudden, last-minute call for qualified dealers, but I already had family plans. After I dropped off my daughter at a kids' party, the CNIB building turned out to be very close so I decided to say hi to the friends I knew would be there.

Poor DataMn was overworked as the only qualified TD, constantly running from one end of the hall to the other end. Having been in several 300+-player events, you need a small army of knowledgeable floor people, settling disputes & keeping the constantly changing tournament organized. For example, the 300-player Canadian Poker Open last year had 1 dedicated floor person for every four tables, with the busy main TD only being called over if necessary.

With DataMn doing a great job with the Skill Level 5 blind structure and positive reviews from compuease, pokerJAH, etc. from the last event, I'm surprised that there was such little interest from PokerForum.ca members. I saw so many people I knew, including Royal Cup teammates, dealers, & people who I have played with at home games, bars, clubs or casinos, but of the ~400 players, I only recognized 3 from this forum.

  • Well run event. Although I couldn't stay long.

I was registered for the event, but last night the family and relatives decided to have a Chinese new year dinner today...can't say no because it's just disrespectful.

So my plan was just go in and play until about 5pm because I had to leave for dinner and then all-in every hand. I was at a very healthy stack at about 7500 around 4:45pm and then I started the circus. All-in blind every hand, I wasn't going to be blinded out, I had to make it worthwhile. Suprisingly knocked out 4 or 5 other players. Most memorable was my AJ vs. AA...Q10x..x..K. wooo! That dude was pissssed. I actually built my stack up to around 17K with the all-ins. (I'm thinking this might have been chip leader amount). Took almost 30 min to bust me out. I was thinking that if I did get blinded out, if I returned from dinner, would I have any chips left. Problem was I wasn't going to be back till like 9pm-ish.

    Oh well, fun and games!
  • Minor request? Could you please start a new thread for each tournament, rather than this overlong one?

I agree...kinda hard to get through 200+ posts to figure out what's new, especially when I'm not on this forum every day
