Lets give Matty a break here guys, so far he has been straight up, and I know we are all spoiled but even with the mansion challenge its not costing you anything Jim.

Well in fact it has cost me $25 so far and I am only half way towards completing the challenge. To be honest if I knew about this $50 add-on, I would have saved my $25. How can this be a free tournament when a $50 add-on is part of the tournament. 500 x $50 = 25,000 so most of the funds for this tournament are coming from the add-on. This will cover the cost of the WPT seat and the trip with plenty of money left over. If Matty wants to give me a free seat to this tournament, I will take it but I will definitely pass on the add-on. He can confirm that I have deposited and lost my $25 on Mansion already (user 'pokerjah') with his contact there. btw, apparently you only get entry to this tournament with the 'offers' not the 'challenges' which is a change from the Kitchener tournament; you have to complete the 'challenge' to qualify for this tournament. Unlike the offer where if you lose your funds you get into the tournament and get your deposit back.
  • I have completed the challenge but his site is slow on the update I'm not listed there yet.

would you have gone for the challenge knowing this tournament had a $50 add-on?
  • Hi All,

I just want to let you know that I have now accepted the position of Tournament Director for this tournament.

If we sell out (500 people), and have 400 rebuys then there will be a total chip value of 2,450,000. It is imperative that the tournament be done by 3am, so here is the current schedule:

NOTE: IF LESS PEOPLE SHOW UP, OR WE HAVE LESS REBUYS, THEN WE CAN SLOW THIS SCHEDULE DOWN BY GETTING RID OF SOME OF THE LAST LEVELS AND MAKING OTHER LEVELS LONGER. I AM JUST STATING THAT THIS IS THE MOST AGGRESSIVE OF ANY OF THE POSSIBILITIES.

(btw - thanks to the Tex's Tears software for helping with the blind levels)

    1 - 25/25 (20 mins)
    2 - 25/50 (20 mins)
    3 - 50/100 (20 mins)

    15 MIN BREAK - ADD-ONS NOW SOLD

    4 - 100/200 (20 mins)
    5 - 150/300 (20 mins)
    6 - 150/300, 25 ante (20 mins)
    7 - 150/300, 50 ante (20 mins)
    8 - 200/400, 75 ante (20 mins)

    10 MIN BREAK

    9 - 300/600, 100 ante (15 mins)
    10 - 400/800, 150 ante (15 mins)
    11 - 500/1500, 200 ante (15 mins)
    12 - 1000/2000, 300 ante (15 mins)
    13 - 1500/3000, 400 ante (15 mins)

15 MIN BREAK - REMOVE REMAINING $25 CHIPS

    14 - 2000/4000, 600 ante (15 mins)
    15 - 3000/6000, 800 ante (15 mins)
    16 - 5000/10000, 1000 ante (15 mins)
    17 - 5000/15000, 1500 ante (15 mins)

    15 MIN BREAK - REMOVE $100 and $500 CHIPS

    18 - 10000/20000, 2000 ante (15 mins)
    19 - 15000/30000, 3000 ante (15 mins)
    20 - 20000/40000, 5000 ante (15 mins)
    21 - 30000/60000, 8000 ante (15 mins)

    10 MIN BREAK - REMOVE $1000 CHIPS

    22 - 50000/100000, 10000 ante (15 mins)
    23 - 50000/150000, 15000 ante (15 mins)
    24 - 100000/200000, 20000 ante (15 mins)

This should add up to 465 minutes - giving us 15 minutes of grace on the end.

This schedule increases the amount that each player has to put into the pot by around 1.4x to 1.5x for each level. The 15 minute levels will probably be the equivalent to the 20 minute levels at the start because we will have weeded out a lot of the problems (bad dealers, misunderstanding players) by then.
  • Acidjoe, check the tourney list, your on it!!

Alright matty I will give this a try seeing as I wanted to try 888 anyways. Lets see how this goes.

Alright well I have finished the challenge part of it, Pacific really doesn't have alot of players or tables going most of the time and the level of play is absolutely brutal, if you can avoid getting donkified there is money to be made there. Basically I deposited in barely the minimum ($30) and in a couple of days got it to about 400+.

when you deposit the minimum, what levels and game are you playing? are you playing SnGs or cash games? playing $0.05/$0.10 would take forever to earn the required number of points but at higher limits you are short stacked and have to push eventually. Would appreciate the feedback.
Mansion also has very few tables going so your forced to play heads up SNGs or one cash table at a time.

There weren't many options initially so I really didn't want to waste alot of time trying to get the points so I decided to sit down at a .25/.50 with $38 (30 plus 8 bonus) and look for a quick double up which I got the 2nd hand in, I actually had to do the hand review because I couldn't stop laughing. It went exactly like this.

    ME: AJ (suited hearts)
    Villian: unknown.

    Me: Raise to $2
    Villian: Re Raise to $5
    Me: Call $3

    Flop J 9 7 (All diamonds)

    Me: Bet $6
    Villian: Call $6

    Turn Jack (clubs)

    Me: Bet $12
    Villian: Call $12

    River 7 clubs

Me: Bet ($12) <--- which puts villian ALL IN
    Villian: Calls $11.25 allin

Villian shows KQ offsuit with NO Diamond.

I still laugh when I think about this hand.. what a tool.

thanks; btw, how did you get an $8 bonus? is this in addition to the 1deal bonus? not sure if I should have also received a bonus with my initial deposit to Mansion?? well Matty?

It was just added to my account automatically.. Pacific had a 25% initial deposit bonus offer.
  • Hey Al,

You missed a zero in level 22. Thanks for posting all that!
    See you there.

The tournament's credibility just took a big upswing. Smart move Matt. Good luck, DataMn.
  • When will the other prizes be listed?
Is there a cash option for the trip instead?
Can you pay right at the door instead of a $7.50 service charge from clubzone?
  • you can RSVP a seat through allinforthecure.com if you do not wish to buy them online or if you don't want to get in free through 1deal. You RSVP a ticket and then pay cash at the door.

    matty

PS: pokerjah some of the poker sites give bonus's on top of the deposit, Mansion doesn't
  • Great move Matty in drafting Al... Maybe now some more of the forum will support you instead of being so negative... Now if I can only earn some more points on Pacific, need 13 more but still am at my initial deposit amount... Can't get it going like I did on Mansion, 25 to 100 in 4 hrs.
  • ooh come onnn its not that tough to get the points, just start rivering people and you will get them in no time, lol
  • Hi Matty, finally got the points I needed on Mansion. Please confirm you have everything you need.
  • i finished my points on pacific, please confirm me also... username dobee07
  • which 'deal' of the three is the easiest? how long does it take to get the points required for the bonus on low limit NLH?
  • Pokerjah- check the tournaments page, you are on the list so you are in

dobee07- you will be approved by tomorrow, so check the tournaments page an your account after lunch tomorrow

I think Titan is the easiest to get the points, seems like a lot of donkeys on that site
  • OK, Matty I completed the Pacific deal and forwarded the screen shots as proof to your email. Please confirm.. Thx.. Jeff
  • Thx jeff, i think you are #11 on the tourny list , good luck on the 23rd ill see ya then

    Matty
  • ok, thanks. Glad to hear the tournament is a go. I can see a lot of forum players will be in attendance. Kind of nice that there is also a casino right next door as well.
  • Thanks Matty, I don't know why some of you were (are) so pessimistic re this whole deal. For the first tournament I deposited $25. on Mansion, ran it up to $100. while completing the challenge, then received a $75. chq from 1deal plus the tournament entry for a $150 cash profit, then deposited $30. on Pacific, ran it to $60 while gaining the required points for this deal and will get a chk for $55. from 1deal plus the Toronto tournament entry for another $85. cash profit. That's a profit of $205 for zero risk plus anything I may make at the tournaments themselves. Even if I would have lost my deposits on both sites I would still have a profit of $150. plus tournament entries. You can't lose in any way I can see.
LOL, I'm beginning to sound like a shill for 1deal but I can't see the downside. Please point it out if you can see one.
For all you who were so positive on the whole bonus whoring thing, I can't see where this is any different and a lot more fun.
  • when I get the cheque for $75US, then I will be convinced; if they can pull off a tournament at the Liberty Grand, I will be very impressed. Not sure how they are generating enough revenue to pay for all of this? we deposit $25, earn the required points and they pay us $75US. How much is Mansion, etc. paying them to generate 20 Mansion points even with the $75US to us? I don't understand their business model and how they are pulling this off. Not unless someone has fronted a load of cash to see if this concept may work. Kind of reminds me of the Great Canadian Poker Challenge but their business model included a TV deal to help generate the needed revenue. I will have a trip report on the Liberty tournament next week.
  • I was pessimistic because there isn't a free lunch jeff. They call it a "free" tourney and now there's $50 add on. Personally I don't care because I bet/play so much on line that $50 don't mean shquat. But this tourney isn't free. They take $25 out of what they would have paid for the tourney. I know it's a charity fund raiser and all that so I won't go any further. I am always on the look out for the scam. They happen all the time on line. While I believe Matty didn't express the tourney and himself correctly he hasn't given me any reason not to buy into this tourney.

Personally i'm going to try and free roll my way to niagara so I'll either make the final table or be kissing AL good bye long before the first break. Either way it's fine by me. If i'm around by the add on I will go deep.

Just ask Voodoo who has been the recipient of some Acidjoe LUV. He knows I can mix it up.... play with the best of them and suck out when needed. OMG I"ll shut up now cuz I"m sounding like folded.

After this challenge I can't do anything more at one deal since I have accounts on all other poker rooms. Now if I can get over the $175 I"ve lost playing 5/10 tonight I'll be all good.

I didn't care about their business Model. They paid me out in cash. that was fine by me.
  • As Joe says, who cares about their business model, all I care about is more $$$ in than out.. And Joe it is free, at least if you count the cheques they send out, ie from this one I'm getting a cheque for $55. that would pay for my add on if I so chose...
  • About one week left and the site says you need over 400 players to hit the 500 mark. I got dibs on the extra gift bags!

I also hope you guys got the SunParties second place trip worked out legit. My friend won an 'all inclusive' trip to Mexico from them earlier this year from a club party...but she later found out it was a voucher for the trip and it was redeemable upon getting someone else to go with her for a price.

And..is there a way to buy in for the $100 w/o the $7.50 service charge from Clubzone?
  • TiM I believe if you e mail Olivia at all in for the cure she can get tickets without the service charge and you can pick them up at the door. Matty can probably clarify this one.
