  • I was going to make a suggestion that any new players from this forum should signup from an existing 1deal member and maybe the affiliate payments could be used towards getting trophies for the Ryder Cup. Also, if this person wins the top affiliate for the month (which is very likely), their prize could be donated to the MVP of the Ryder Cup. What do you think? There are a lot of members of 1deal from this forum (AcidJoe, Voodoo, PokerJAH, etc.) so far and no one has benefited from us completing challenges and deals as Matty introduced us to this site. Going forward, why not take the proceeds from the affiliate program and give it back to the Pokerforum.ca community. I think you get $20-$30 US for each person that completes a challenge so it wouldn't be that difficult to earn enough to pay for the trophies, etc.
  • Once I find out from Matty if there are any time constraints, and/or chip constraints, then I can design the schedule for blinds.

I will try for a tourney with as high of skill factor as possible!

My initial structure for 10K, lasting 12 hours (including breaks) for 300 people, has a skill level of 6 and a patience factor of 23.52!!

I like this idea. I have set up an affiliate code RoyalCup4 if people are interested in doing this. I will record the money received, from who and where it was spent. If you PM me here then we can also cross reference them as they happen.
  • If i can get our chip supplier to get more chips I will see if we can have a starting stack of 5K, hope you ladies like it!! lol

i doubt we will hire anyone from the AGCO for this event
  • As well Pokerjah and the Ryder Cup fellas let me know when and where this is happening, how many people and I might be willing to sponsor it. So we can get you those trophy's and maybe some more prize pool money

    :)

  • Matty is working on getting more chips, but even if that cannot happen I will still guarantee designing a structure with the highest skill level (6) possible within the time frame that I have been given.

I worked on a structure with the 2500 in chips, and came out with a skill level of 6, a patience factor of 10.87, and a "Pringles Can" blind off time of 3 hours 18 minutes.

To compare, Westside has one of the best blind structures around, and even with 10000 in starting chips the skill level is still 6, the patience factor is 13.18, and the "Pringles Can" blind off time is only 19 minutes longer at 3 hours 37 minutes.

It is not only the number of starting chips that matters, but also how fast the blinds go up. With only 2500 chips I would have 30 minute rounds (instead of 20 or 25), giving everyone a lot more "play" in each level.

Seeing as Al is the TD, West Side Poker Club has enough chips to give everyone 10,000 and we have enough labled chips for 400 people. You are welcome to use them no charge as long as Al is the TD.

Brent, you and Al are the man, err men..... Take em up on it Matty. If together you can pull this off, you will sure win the support of the Pokerforum members. And by the way the Ryder/Royal is Sept 29th in Ktch, run by Sandro, aka pokerdro on here. This will be the 4th semi annual event.
  • It says there is still 223 seats left. Is this tourney still happening? All seems pretty quiet around here.
  • I'd like one of those fabulous loot bags
  • lol well come to the tourney and you shall receive one

The reason the site hasn't been updated is because the woman who runs it was away onb vacation, so i am sure she will do that very soon for ya
ooh its on like donkey kong Acid, ill make sure of that.

Like I said earlier, I doubt this event will take place as advertize.

Wait a minute. That was me!

For the sake of those who have done the work to qualify, I hope it goes well. I just don't think these guys have the depth to pull it off but good luck.
  • deposited $25, got a cheque in the mail for $75; good ROI in any case.
  • Well? Did anyone play?

    For all you doubters..... :)

The allinforthecure site still shows 223 seats available.

    happening this Sunday
  • For anyone heading down and hopefully matty will confirm all is a go. The DVP is closed from the 401 to the Gardiner this weekend.

take the better way, streetcar right to the Ex.
  • Hello All,

This is just to confirm that I have spoken with Matty, and this tournament is ON this weekend.

As AcidJoe already stated, the DVP is closed from the 401 to the QEW this weekend, so if you are coming from that direction then you will need to use another route.

For those of you forumers that I haven't met, feel free to introduce yourself on Sunday. I'd like to put some more faces to names

    Al
  • Best of luck TD'ing this tourney Al. If anyone can do a good job it's you. Hope all the sponsorship and prizes work out ;)

    /g2
  • looks like the start of the tournament has been changed from 1pm to 3pm per the 1deal site. Anyone want to meet up for a drink by Union Station prior to the tournament?
  • Just received an email from 1deal confirming the tournament this Sunday. One thing Matty mentions though is that the parking is $9., anyone have a suggestion for free parking in that area?
  • Hey Al, care to comment on the tournament structure as advertised? If the starting chip stack is 2500 and the blind schedule as posted on the 1deal website is used it's only a skill level 3 tourney. If they get approx 300 players I estimate it will end between 8:30-9, kinda early isn't it? Even if they get the max of 500 players it would still only last 30 min or so longer. Is that really how early they need it to end? Even doubling the starting stack to 5000 would only add another 30 min.
  • Geoff,

I am going to adjust the blinds depending on the number of people we get. I will also make the starting rounds a bit slower too.

    Al
  • Thanks Al, I know you are the master.... Do you know when it needs to be finished by?
  • Geoff,

I am aiming for a midnight finish, with a buffer to 1:30 am if players play REALLY tight. This gives us a bit of time to do final clean-up before leaving the site.

    Al
  • Just a follow-up for Geoff and others:

I have devised a structure that even with 500 people would aim to be done around midnight, with a skill level of 6, and a blind off time of just under 3 and a half hours

THE LEVELS AFTER THE THIRD ONE MAY BE ADJUSTED TO REFLECT THE ACTUAL NUMBER OF PLAYERS.

Schedule for 1.5 million in total chips
    Aim end time: 11:30 pm
    Hard end time: 1:30 am

    3:00 - 3:30 25/25
    3:30 - 4:00 25/50
    4:00 - 4:30 50/100

    4:30 - 4:40 BREAK

    4:40 - 5:05 75/150
    5:05 - 5:30 100/200
    5:30 - 5:55 150/300
    5:55 - 6:20 150/300 25 ante

    6:20 - 6:40 BREAK

    6:40 - 7:00 150/300 50 ante
    7:00 - 7:20 200/400 75 ante
    7:20 - 7:40 300/600 100 ante
    7:40 - 8:00 400/800 150 ante

    8:00 - 8:10 BREAK (remove $25 chips)

    8:10 - 8:30 500/1500 200 ante
    8:30 - 8:50 1000/2000 300 ante
    8:50 - 9:10 1500/3000 400 ante
    9:10 - 9:30 2000/4000 600 ante

    9:30 - 9:40 BREAK

    9:40 - 10:00 3000/6000 800 ante (start removing $100 chips)
    10:00 - 10:20 5000/10000 1000 ante
    10:20 - 10:40 5000/15000 1500 ante
    10:40 - 11:00 10000/20000 2000 ante

    11:30 - 11:50 20000/40000 5000 ante
    11:50 - 12:10 30000/60000 8000 ante
    12:10 - 12:30 50000/100000 10000 ante
    12:30 - 12:50 50000/150000 15000 ante
    12:50 - 1:10 100000/200000 20000 ante
    1:10 - 1:30 150000/300000 30000 ante
  • Al, that looks like a fantastic structure. I'm assuming a 3000 starting stack? I really like the longer blinds at the beginning, should make for lots of play. By the way the patience factor is 11, it's the skill level that is 6. That's on a par with some of the $3-500. tournaments in Vegas, very well done... Perhaps Matty can now update the website with this new structure.... I agree with your estimates, with 500 players it should end around midnight, with 300 about 30 min earlier. See you Sunday, really looking forward to this... Jeff...
