Is this because paying for the Fallsview tournament entry is considered a gambling transaction by your credit card company and charges you as a cash advance? All the tournament entries I paid for with a credit card at Brantford, Point Edward and Great Blue Heron casinos were all treated as normal purchases with no fees.
Brantford, Point Edward, and GBH all put your tournament buy ins through as a purchase, where as Fallsview puts it through as a Cash Advance.
Truly IMO the 1K has no value anyways, it is a crap shoot and really you are better off playing the 2.5K. For most who were looking to play the 1K as a "shot" you are betting off grinding an extra 1500 and playing the 2500. Better structure etc.
Alternatively you can also play the 1K at blue heron at the end of the month as well as the 1500 at Seneca the following weekend that has a superior structure but the 30% withholding.
Even flying out to vegas and spending 500-600 then playing a 2-3day venetian deepstack or Caesars WSOPC has better value especially if you are smashing tournies for 30-40K a month like some of the posters in this thread.
The only thing that adds to Fallsview is it will have 600 players, thus making it an almost $600,000 prize pool, and over $140,000 1st place prize.
Those other tournaments I don't think will have that except for probably the WSOPC Main Event.
Also I don't think the 1k Fallsview structure is as bad as you think it is with 5000 chips and 45min blind levels
With the 1K soldout and still a month to go before the event any chance the 2.5K becomes a sellout? Anyone know how many tickets are left for the 2.5K other than the ones they are holding back for the super satty?

I good player who is able to quickly decipher unknowns tendencies+aware of table dynammics would rip apart any of these tournaments. The 1k definitely comes with more variance, but its hugely +ev

At least that is my understanding
I have no idea what is true. Since I hate making banks richer, I followed what seemed like logical advice of respected posters. This delay + scalpers greed cost me a seat

I think your best bet would be to call the casino. That info has to be more accurate and up to date than posters here can provide. Please be sure to tell them how out of hand the scalping is, and ask how many people bought 8 tickets.

It's Fallsview, you could call and get different answers each time you call. Even on the same call, you can get 2-3 different answers depending who you talk to.
I'd really like to get a seat before I leave town for 2 weeks. If anybody is interested in selling a seat for $1150 cash today and say 10% of my action, PM me. I leave on Wednesday the 18th and will be back Feb 2nd.
Staying at the Comfort Inn also hope it's clean first time at that hotel. How far of a walk to Fallsview Casino is it from there? Already got ticket for $1000 event how are sales going for $2500 event haven't picked up ticket for this event might play Super Satty depends on result of $1000 event or might buy in directly?
GarryC and I are both booked at the 4 Points Sheraton, right across the street. Looking forward to meeting everyone over the course of the few days. We'll be there on the 7th and staying at least until Friday morning I think...maybe longer.
Should arrange to get everyone together for dinner and/or drinks somewhere and talk about the day's events and lie to each other.

I will try and see if I can get you a voucher for PAR. I got some contacts and will see what I can do.

Tried this last year. Didn't work. But worth a try again. If someone wants to try and organize this.
#RunGood breakfast somewhere? Or when is everyone getting in on Tuesday night?
I will be leaving downtown toronto around 4pm and going straight to Niagara
