    1) Only K8 make money not K9. Plus they felt bad for him cause hes old.

    2) WSOP Circuit in April, probably somwhere between the 13th and 22nd.

    3) Wetts is obv (last name). 1012 was my condo number when I first started playing on Pokerroom in 05. Wetts was already taken so the legend was born.....

    4) I've always said The West Coast was due for a major earthquake. Kristy leaving the forum would also be equivalent, depending on how it goes down.

    5) Not counting Back Door Beauties 3, Avatar was easily 10/10.
  • Does it ever keep you awake at night, knowing how good you are at poker, realizing that I have actually finished ahead of you in several Ching Hill events?

    I mean, come on . . . I suck.

Also, approx. how much time do you devote to poker each week?

No. I dont think youve ever busted me. That may cause some sleeplessness.

    Not a question, but yes.

Online, prob. about 24 hours? Basically wherever I can put in a session around a 55hr/week job + family. I try to watch maybe 2-3 hours online vids on pwnage and savvy as well.

Live, .5-3 hours at Ching Hill.
  • Did not say "busted", merely ahead of you. I am working on the other part. lolz

Will you be responding to questions during the SET this week, or would you consider that to be hot-dogging?

Also, that .5 is more like MY time frame so who are we kidding . . .
  • Milo wrote: »

    .

I am here all week. Hot dogging will be reserved for the SE party/UFC 109 at the Wetts residence.
  • 1. How do you take your coffee?
    2. Favourite pizza place?
    3. What would you have for your last meal?
    4. Who do you like in the Superbowl?
  • Boring poker questions:

-How long have you been playing pokeR?

-You won a wpt right? What's what did you spend money on afterwards to celebrate that win?

-If I get my coaching hours with Assassinato any time soon, do you think a guy like me could get as good as you if I put my hours in?

-What do you feel your biggest edge is in a 5 dollar rebuy? a 50 dollar rebuy? a live 500 dollar FO?

    -Do you play poker professionally?

    1) Double Double. And I can only drink Tim Hortons. Honestly, there is something other than coffee in it. /Conspiracy theory.

    2) Im not picky. I always remember the number 310 GINO so thats usually how I roll.

    3) Reread. Surf & Turf. EZ game.

    4) I had all Chargers/Packers in my playoff pool, so I no longer give a fuck. Going with the Saints tho, they seem to be destined to win.

    1) My first experience of 5/10 Limit was in 2004, so about 6 years.

    2) Unless you mean Wetts Poker Tour, no.

    3) Of all the people on this forum today, you have the most potential. Your understanding of theory is greater than people on this site who have been playing forever.

    4) I think a 5R and a 50R are essentially the same. Im rolled to play 50R and the fields are smaller so that helps.

HOWEVER - there is a rediculous amount of dead money in any 5R of people who dont make it to the add on that almost everyone left is +EV.

My greatest edge is def. in live tournaments, specifically casino tournaments because they are LOL bad from a player pool perspective.
  • 1/ Give us you opinion on the top 5 players on this site. Won't ask you for the 5 worst as I may be embarassed... :)

2/ If I invest in some advanced coaching from fed, could I get as good as him?

3/ Tell us a little about your family, or as much as you feel comfortable with.
  • In an earlier thread (too lazy to find it) you mentioned that about a year ago, something 'clicked' for you as far as online tournament poker playing. Can you pinpoint what that was?

I know you are a memeber of at least one coaching site (Stox?? can't remember). Would you say the coaching you got so far is one if not the main reason you have succeeded so dramatically this past year?

What single element would you say every tournament poker player needs to get a solid grip on in order to play MTT's? Would that one element be different for higher level buyins, and if so, what would you consider the $5, $10, $22, and $55 key elements would be?

Mainly you're a tournament player, but I know you're beginning to play some cash games online as well. What in your opinion is the biggest difference you are struggling with between a $55 MTT and a NL50 cash game?

    1) I can really only talk about MTT because I dont really pay attention to who are cash specialists (ie, BMZ, GTA, and Reef)

Online: Actyper, Jules, Richard, Buddy, and myself.
Live: Actyper, Buddy, SteveKerr, BMZ, and Compuease the NIT - I cant deny you a place in the top 5 based on your results.

    2) That troll is on my ignore list, and I will not acknowledge him ITT.

    3) My family is small currently. I have been married for almost 6 years, and have 2 cats. Although it will be growing in the future...
  • It is fairly commonly accepted that cash players are more skilled than MTT players -- thoughts?

    1) The most important thing that I understood was Range. I learned to bet and call my range, not my cards. I began to comprehend that villain open shoving ranges were not unexploitable, ie I started to understand where I could call significantly lighter and have a long term +EV for my tournament life.

I remember specifically being on the bubble in the 30K and Mossified was on my right. I snapped his open shove of Q2 with KJ for the chiplead and eventually won. Thats when I understood that the current state of online MTT is basically about exploiting villains ranges.

    2) Pokerpwnage changed my approach. If you dont have it, get it.

    3) As stated, play ranges not cards. I think that this applies at basically $22 and above, although there is alot of open shoving going on at the low levels these days. The problem is most people do it and dont understand it. They basically dont balance properly.

    4) Cash games are a different beast. I can call down for my stack with QJ on a Q high board in an MTT and probably show a profit long term. I go broke in cash games doing this. I dont have strong postflop skills - although I can see a drastic improvement over say, the last 4 months.

Agree, for the most part. Cash game players see more scenarios because they see more streets on each individual hand.

That said, cash game players tend to get too tricky late in MTT's. They want to see flops, stop n go, all that nonsense when the game is played preflop.

    Different games, different skills.

The best players in the world are cash specialists.

    1) We golf alot in the summers, and watch alot of movies. Lately we're on kind of a health kick so we're starting to use the home gym we bought about 2 years ago.

She doesnt play. I tried to get her into it about 3 years ago. I thought shes Azn so how hard could that be? She played play money on pokerroom for about 2 months and she was done.

    2) We met in our last year of University in Waterloo. We were in the same Game Theory class. ECON 421 FTW.
  • For some reason I pictured you as a 21 year old colege kid, why?

I think the Koolaid avatar made me feel like you were younger due to it's light, humourous appeal. Bad read on my part?

I closed that shit after only 2 submissions for the first week. I wasnt really interested in shipping Kristy $10 each week. So I called Mole/Kristy the co-winners and paid up.

I would open it back up if we had more interest.......

I look much younger than I am (31). I got carded at the LCBO on Saturday , so thats a win.

I have the maturity capacity of a 21 year old tho, so maybe thats what triggered you.

I've steered away from MTTs in recent years. I like that playing cash games gives me more flexibility with my time. I also much prefer live vs online.

Should I start playing more live MTTs? Could the fields be even weaker than the live cash games?

I cant stand live tournament poker. I used to love it. I fucking hate hearing people try to spew theory and strategy at the tables it tilts me so much.

You are right. There is a significant time commitment being an MTTer. This is why I want to get into cash. Being up until 12/1 is making the 6am alarm more difficult to manage.

I think online MTT and live casino cash are about equivalent. I think Casino MTT is FAR weaker than casino cash games. So yes, given where you live, you should play more live MTT.
  • In a thread a while back, you mentioned that in general you strongly dislike (I think you used the word 'hate') poker players.

Given your obvious talents in poker, I couldn't get this statement out of my head for a full day. Why is it that you hate poker players?

Why do you choose to associate with poker players/hobbyists here at PFC?

Why do you choose PFC over other poker forums which have significantly larger numbers of contributors, and most likely more strategy discussion?

Really? You think online MTT fields are as weak as live cash? I always assume that all online is tougher than live regardless of the discipline.
  • Do you use any poker software to study shove ranges? If so, which ones?

In general, what do you think is a more important factor in mtts: chip preservation or chip accumulation?
(or do you think it depends a lot on field size?)

Who's your favorite pokerpwnage instructor to watch/learn from?

How excited are you for double guarantees week?
  • GTA, stop cluttering up this thread, and get off wett's nuts. You arre full of fail sir.

    moving on...

whats you stance on Canadian politics? what party do you like?

    Favorite poker game?

    biggest cash?

    Favorite vacation spot?

    gogogogogogogo
    • Are you flattered that I opened this thread last this morning, like a Christmas present..or cocky and confident that it will be awesome?
    • "Family will be growing in the future"..is your wife pregnant?
    • What do you do for a living?
    • What does your wife do?
    • Do you love your job? If 'no' what would you like to switch to?
    • What is the drunkest you've ever been?
    • What is the sickest you've ever been?
    • If you had to puke on one person, who would you choose and why?

Lastly, I'm as good or better than 4 of the people on your list. Fuck you.....?

As stated above, I hate live poker players, in a non social setting. I hate the way they talk their own versions of strategy, I hate the way they tell their bad beat stories (cause its ALWAYS a bad beat), I hate the way they generally dont want to learn and criticize almost everything.

Ex. $550 at Blue Heron last week. I am in the BB with 46 spades at 50/100. UTG makes it 250, 3 callers. I call from the BB. Pot=1250. I flop 2 spades. UTG bets 300 (1/4 pot). All folds, I call. I turn spades and value bet the river, etc.

He berates me for playing 46, cant fold suited cards etc, etc. Fuck off. For the next 20 minutes him and his buddy dont stop talking about it.

I like CPF. This is a community. RC is fun, nobody takes the game too seriously.

I am a member of P5's and 2p2. Most of my strat viewing comes from there. I contribute here to do my part, and learn a bit.
