  • See the Niagara Deals thread you quoted. The great hotel deals are through Travelzoo, Dealfind.com, Groupon, Expedia, email offers, etc. The best-value is the $55/night email offer from Best Western, where most of the forumers playing have booked.
    Hey blondefish,
Where can I find these rates for the Hilton or the Sheraton??

Planning on heading to Fallsview Sunday to play satellites - anyone know when they start running?
What time did the satellites start today? I didn't play last Sunday, but there have been three satellites tables going the past couple of days, & I didn't get home from Fallsview until 4 AM today.

After The Dragon Queen burnt up anybody on her way to winning all three WPT entries UNDEFEATED, there seems to be a lot less satellite Kings this week than before. My horseshoes had been badly burnt, but I had the blacksmiths of Qohor reforge them with Valyrian steel, so I'm heading back to the WWF - WPT Wars @ Fallsview - with my weapons of horseshoes, pen and paper....

Half-Man Half-Woman? on the way to WWF
  • I think at 11:30,I played a 245 at 1:30 and took it down, I didn't have to play a satalite with same 8 guys. Ha Ha. So it was nice to see some new faces and meet some new people. they ran a 235 and also a 125 had started when I left at 3pm.
  • Thanks BF - I played a 245 today and took home a ticket. Arrived around 1 and sat down shortly afterwards - sounded like they had already played a 245 before ours started.

Carl - sounds like the same one I played. I was the guy in the grey ballcap.
  • Ok cool that was a good satellite, that was me that won the other seat. You played well. And it's nice to meet you, Good luck in the event and in any future satellites.
  • Thanks - same to you. See you in the $1k.
  • WTF? I heard there were two satellite tables running on Sunday, but when I got there, the satellites suddenly died and I didn't get to play a single one! I felt like "Half-Man" Tyrion going to battle, only to wake up hours later missing the entire war. :-[

With the late announcement and start of satellites, there are only FIVE weekends left :-\ before the WPT events start. Anybody that plans to play or is running a RFS should get the $1,100 and $275 super satellite entry cards soon before they sell out. With a maximum of 600 + 50 alternates this year, Fallsview will either cut off the card sales early or wait until enough $245 satellites have been run to get to 600. I think it's better to wait until the 600 entries have been won/sold, then only the four remaining satellites will run non-stop in the final week or two.

My guess is that they will then make >= 50 alternate seats available, either giving you a entry card that is distinguishable from the 600 cards bought or won (refunded if you don't actually get to play), or a waiting list system where you don't have to pay until your alternate number is called on February 18. Can anybody think of a better system to use for the 600+50 sell-out?

  • May play the 1k as well if it doesn't conflict with main event. I have heard sattys are soft. When is consensus best time to play them? Assuming weekend nights? Any updates on how full each event is thus far?

It was being discussed last night at fallsview.
Who was discussing paper/pen at Fallsview that night?

There is no date conflict, so does that mean that I can add you to the roll call for both the $5K and $1,100 events?

Any rake-free satellite is better than a raked hyper turbo, but since there may not be a single RFS this year unlike the three previous years of WPT Fallsview, :'( there will continue to be at least three WPT satellite tables @ Fallsview running round-the-clock on Fridays and Saturdays.
Any updates on how full each event is thus far?
Unlike Casino Brantford, Great Blue Heron and other casinos where players and employees know how many of the limited seats have been sold, this most frequently asked question seems to be treated like CIA classified information by Fallsview or their antiquated system can't automatically track the number of seats sold/won so that even managers, supervisors and cashiers are more clueless than you and I. My educated GUESS is that the $970+$130 event will sell out soon and the $245 satellites MAY be stopped as early as this weekend. :eek2:

Yeah sorry forgot to mention there was a fee for buying with my credit card, so it was $1122 total buy in. I think this is the norm though, as I had to pay the same amount when I played the full tilt main in Montreal. Thanks for the advice on the hotel rates, Knights inn sounds great at $33 per night.

Does your credit card charge it as a regular purchase or as a cash advance since it may show up as a casino gambling charge?
  • Heading out to fallsview this afternoon. If anyone wants a lift from square one area post up. Leaving at 3pm.

Will be back home by midnight.
  • Pretty boring night. Only wanted to grind some cash games. They didn't have a 5-10 going so stuck playing 2-5. Ran into some old regulars (Greg with the lamborgini and big steve) and had a pretty decent table.

There was a lovely (way too young for me to hit on) young girl there Christine, she was playing a Satty then joined our cash game. Very very beautiful girl WOW.

Made just over 700 in five hours and headed home

Last year i managed to buy a ticket to the $2500 for only $2100. I was asking around tonight and only goofy old Bill was selling tickets but only for the 1k.

Will be back on Fri evening but don't see any value in playing the satty if the cash games will continue to be soft.
  • Will be going to Fallsview tonight to play $245s. Anyone know how often do they have this going on weekdays? If I phone in early will they roll my name over on the list if they get one going before I get there?
  • Pretty sure they won't put your name on the satty lists unless you are physically there.
  • which event are the $245 satty for?

The $245 is for the $1100 event. Top 2 finishers out of 10 get a ticket.

    Cheers,

LOL, why is Bill "goofy"? The funny thing is that he has not played a single satellite "As far as I know" but has even more entry cards than I've won! :o

id say thats a pretty goofy thing lol, the man who never plays sattys yet has a plethora of them to sell.

what does he do, buy them and resell? why does he not wait until the event is sold out next week? Obviously hes just making a little profit, you would think he would want to maximize it by selling in Feb.

    so many questions... :D
  • He is just a funny old guy. Looked like a ticket scalper at a leafs game.....

    Going back friday afternoon. :D

I've never seen all 17 tables at Fallsview running on a weekday, but it happened yesterday - including a couple of 5/10 cash games and three WPT satellites. One reg has won 9 out of 11 $245 satellites so he has nine $1,100 seats! :o I could overtake him, but I've been passing up the satellite for the $1,100 and would much rather play the $125, $235 and $550 satellites.

To add to the huge buzz in the room, the Bad Beat Jackpot was hit - AA vs. AK on AAK board. After more than five years of absence, the WPT Frenzy is back at Fallsview. 13CARDS and I got neck strain from watching and chatting with the mini-skirted girls hanging around 365 Club and the poker rail. >:D Needless to say, after I finally get some sleep this morning, I'll head back to the 17-table Frenzy soon after I wake up.

Good luck! I wish I could join but it's a long drive.... I might go to the GBH again now that I know how limit works.

For someone that sure talks like there a king on this forum can you please tell me what poker room uses 5 aces? AA vs. AK on a AAK board
  • Whats the gong rate for the $1,100 satellite seats? They gettting full value? Might be interest in one.
  • Emailed you. With jerks like ILuvRake and mike6321 that contribute nothing to our poker community or forum, I'll stop posting poker information. If any of my many friends on the forum ever have a poker question I can help them with, you have my contact info or you can see me in the casinos.

See you all at WPT Fallsview.

I like this saying and i think you should learn from.."Who are you to judge the life I live? I know I'm not perfect and I don't live to be. But, before you start pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean"

I don't think you contribute to the forum as a fraction of how much blondish does.. He probably meant AA vs KK on AAKK board or something as such...

who are you in first place, i bet blondfish can crush you in any poker game..
