  • Its been my experience in previous years that sats don't really run consistently until about 4 weeks before the event. I'm not saying you cant get into one but you may be in for a long wait especially if your looking to go into a higher step.

That being said your way more in the scene then I am Wetts you think the Sats will be good at this time?

If a sat isn't running, he'll just crush the 500NL game until one does open.

  • Does anybody know the structures of the 2.5k and 5k MTT super Sats?

more importantly, what will the rakes be?

You can find that on the first page
  • Does anyone know if the super sats usually sell out? And if so, how quick?

I know last year the 2.5k super satty sold out the day before. There were guys scalping tickets for profit the day of the satellite.
  • Note that the tournament entries/cards are not physically available until next year! :o I withdrew extra money in an ATM near Fallsview to buy an entry, but I was told by a supervisor that I would get nothing and the tournament card would not be available for another 4-6 weeks so there was no point in me getting any entry early. I decided to just put my cash in my front money account instead.

As the satellite player whom I had made a deal with said, "I wished we knew we would receive nothing today for our win, then I may have kept playing the cash game instead. If something happens to me between now and next year, then I wouldn't be able to pick up the WPT tournament card and I would lose everything."

I was planning to grind the WPT Fallsview satellites non-stop this weekend, but now, it's better that I play elsewhere such as OPT's WPT satellite on Saturday night.

Blondfish may you give us some info about starting stack and blinds for the sattys after you play today. Thanx
See my link @ http://www.pokerforum.ca/f7/fallsview-poker-classic-feb-18-24-2014-a-31256/index10.html#post363402. They were TURBOS with rake as high as 12%. When three of the few winning players in the forum sat down in the only satellite table, I lamented to them, "Why the f*** couldn't we find more players to run a RFS with lots of play instead of a hard-to-beat turbo structure with rake up to $500??" :'(
Does anyone know whats sites will be hosting sats to the event (other then WPT)?
    Only PartyPoker. :-\

  • 1k seems pretty fast and shallow. Would anyone else be interested in signing a petition to have all tourneys start with at least 1500bbs and 90 min levels?
  • Has anybody calculated the "Patience Factor" of the WPT tournaments yet?

  • For how long will the 1st day of the 1k will be going for? how many hours?

For the second day, will play continue till 10 are left? that might take a loooong time no?
  • All 3 events have a skill level of 6 out of 6

    Patience Factor
    $1.1k - 21.97
    $2.5k - 39.79
    $5k - 54.81

I would sign if i didn't hate everything about fallsview.

also what is patience factor? the amount of time you can nit it up?
  • Played in satalites yesterday at fallsview and to there credit they were running two tables and working really hard to keep them going. They ran the 245,235,125 several times and wait time were not bad i managed to get a 1k so now only two more to go. I suffered some horrendous beats durring the night do to your starting stack if you take one bad beat your essentially done
  • It's good news that Fallsview has the brochures finally available and used two satellite tables on Friday, but there was only one today and Thursday. With no rake-free satellites yet to play, I may start grinding Fallsview's raked turbos tomorrow depending on if the 4%-raked Deep Stack runs or when I'm done with it.

  • I went to Fallsview to play satellites last night and got there at 8:15pm. They said as soon as they have 10 names they run a satty. 10 names by 8:36 so they phone for a dealer and are told they can have a dealer at 10pm!?!

I stick around and play 2/5 (up more than enough to cover the tourney buy-in in an hour and a half - called large all-in bet after the turn on a 10,9,5,6 board from an aggressive regular with QQ and held against his 57.)

The $245 satty starts shortly after 10pm, goes for over 2 hours and I end up binking a ticket. Told it is in my account but can't get it until Jan.

Sitting beside a Fallsview regular that I recognized from years ago at Niagara and he said he only recognized myself and two other players so a very good mix of players for a Wed night.

One controversial hand. Folded to me and I shoved with Jh6h and didn't want any callers. Guy who was making all kinds of mistakes pushes his cards at the dealer and verbally says "call".

Call the floor over and I want to make sure that this hand isn't continuing on so I say, "It wouldn't be fair to force him to put all of his chips in the pot after his cards are folded" (ie lets not rule this a call and screw me). Someone else pipes up they this player has been making all kinds of mistakes all night. Someone else says that it was obvious his intention was to fold which I wholeheartedly agreed with. The floor ruled it a fold and I took down the blinds and antes.

I was constantly short stacked and felt like I shoved at least 75% of the time I was first into the pot.

The other guy that won a ticket was the guy that didn't seem to know what he was doing! And he thought he'd be winning some $, not a ticket. He was from NYC and won't be back for the tourney! LOL

    Cheers,
    PDT

2+2 - WSOP and Tournament Circut about Fallsview being the only poker room in the entire world that I know of that has this weird house rule. I had no problems at WSOP, CPT and all other tournaments, including all three years when the WPT was at Fallsview and knowledgeable poker staff such as ex-forumers "Beach Bum" (poker manager) and 13CARDS (assistant TD) were in charge of the tournaments. Unfortunately, neither are involved in the returning WPT tournaments. I've been talking to Matt Savage, and let's all hope that WPT Fallsview will become more in line with the other excellent WPT events at The Commerce and Playground Poker Club.
  • PartyPoker is now offering qualifiers!!

  • Hi everyone.

Does anyone know how many runners each event has at this point? I am particularly interested in the $2500. I know last year it failed to sell out but it may be different I presume as a WPT event.

    Thanks
  • jontm, do you know why WPT Fallsview does not seem to have any cross-promotion with CanadaPoker.com, WPTAPL, etc? All three WPT events in Playground Poker had big promotions with PartyPoker, including high-value freerolls on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday nights; seats awarded through WPTAPL, RedClubRoom.com &/or CanadaPoker.

Unlike the last WPT Montreal package, $700 is taken away from the winners' prize for hotel and hospitality for February 21-24. The hotel directly connected to Fallsview Casino that I'm thinking of booking will cost me only $319 for those four nights so it would have been better for the winners to book their preferred accommodation instead of being charged $700. The last WPT Montreal package had no charge for hospitality.

I've been trying to play the PartyPoker qualifiers, but currently, either the qualifier gets cancelled or there are not enough players to generate a seat for the next step. Sometimes the software freezes, which is my worst nightmare, as it's happened twice to me already in the FINAL FIVE of the WPT Borgata and WPT Montreal final step! :'(

  • Anybody I know going to Fallsview on New Year's Eve, and interested in either watching the fireworks/celebration at ~8:45 PM or midnight, or having dinner? I saw a couple of friends from WPT Montreal on the weekend and we had agreed to eat at 17 Noir, but we got called for another WPT satellite and it didn't finish until after the steakhouse was closed.

If I lived a little closer I would be in for that... Unfortunately I am no where close to you..Wish there was a go train to the falls.
  • What part of the town are you in colin ? If you can get to mississauga i don't mind giving you a lift. I plan on going Sat late afternoon will try and meetup with blondfish to talk some tourney strategy over dinner.
