  • I live East of Peterborough :/ .. Thanks for the offer though, much appreciated! My location kind of sucks for poker, the only decent place is the GBH and it's still an hour drive. Disappointing because I have time off work until January 4th..

I grew up in Norwood, (East of Peterborough) I lived there pretty much my whole life until I moved to Simcoe 5 years ago. :)
  • Ahah really? That's where I went to school! I live in Havelock :p
  • What part of the town are you in colin ? If you can get to mississauga i don't mind giving you a lift. I plan on going Sat late afternoon will try and meetup with blondfish to talk some tourney strategy over dinner.

Hey guys i will be also on Saturday and would like to finally meet you guys, although i am positive we have already battled each other in satellites in the past weeks.
  • Will send you PM re fallsview.

Is that a cane corso in your pic ? I had a one that passed away back in 2007, she was the most amazing dog. A 105 pound cuddle monster that thought she was a lap dog.

jontm, do you know why WPT Fallsview does not seem to have any cross-promotion with CanadaPoker.com, WPTAPL, etc? All three WPT events in Playground Poker had big promotions with PartyPoker, including high-value freerolls on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday nights; seats awarded through WPTAPL, RedClubRoom.com &/or CanadaPoker.

Unlike the last WPT Montreal package, $700 is taken away from the winners' prize for hotel and hospitality for February 21-24. The hotel directly connected to Fallsview Casino that I'm thinking of booking will cost me only $319 for those four nights so it would have been better for the winners to book their preferred accommodation instead of being charged $700. The last WPT Montreal package had no charge for hospitality.

I've been trying to play the PartyPoker qualifiers, but currently, either the qualifier gets cancelled or there are not enough players to generate a seat for the next step. Sometimes the software freezes, which is my worst nightmare, as it's happened twice to me already in the FINAL FIVE of the WPT Borgata and WPT Montreal final step! :'(

I'm soooo not in the loop this go around. I expected these sats to be slammed right out of the gate and that something would be posted on CanadaPoker, but I can't even find a clean link that doesn't require me to log in for the info.

I think it's only slow being Christmas week, surely this opportunity to sat into Fallsview online Ontario players have been wishing for. As for players here and on two plus two wondering about numbers, the 2.5k sold out in 2011 I believe and was damn close last year. With only 3 events I expect those planning on playing main will eat up any extra seats. As for the 5k it was near 300 without online sats and a WPT trophy in 2011 and nowhere in the country pulls better numbers at these stakes...given the momentum and reputation of Montreal, The North American championships of the past... I'd say pros are gonna have confidence in attending this one and it could and should cap
  • You are now allowed to use "paper and pen"

If it is, thanks for the tip you told me to give my buddy frank! We had a great laugh

What exactly are you referring to? I don't see anything in this thread that is offensive or disturbing.

Yeah, yer gonna have to elaborate here because I also have no idea what you're talking about. I'm also not sure this is the place to do it.

Welcome to the twilight zone. What just happened ? I need to start smoking pot again to understand some of this stuff.

    :D
  • Yes, compuease, pkrfce9, pokerJAH, etc. find what I do very disturbing. That's why we do it every weekend at Woodstock - pkrfce9 brings the Vaseline.

Sigh, this "WPT Fallsview" thread in a poker forum has gone from being "cancelled by a Microsoft convention" to a "bro job."
I WAS thinking of posting a trip report, including the following topics:

    - Game of Turbos - You Win Or You Die

    - A Clash of Satellite Kings - several kings have emerged with three or more WPT seats already.

    - A Storm of Swords - : all 17 tables were busy last night, including 3 satellite tables!

    - A Feast for Crows - most of the forumers & friends I know keep getting coolered, sucked out on, and losing to Kings with horseshoes. There may be renewed attempts to have the first-ever RFS. :cool2:

    - A Dance with Dragons: Instead of one "King to rule them all," a Dragon Queen has emerged; she won all the satellites she played in one day - including a $1,100, $2,500 and $5,000 WPT seats! :o

See you all at WPT Fallsview between now and February 24. The bad news for pkrfce9 is that while paper and pen are now officially allowed at Fallsview, "cheers: bro jobs are still not allowed under TDA Rules.
  • BF, you need to get a cellphone finally so we can have your posts throughout the day, not just when you get home from crushing Fallsview satellites. I almost earned enough last night playing 5/5 to freeroll into the $1k tournament, but I may attempt a couple local satellites in the near future.

What did this satellite queen look like?
  • I was there on sat night, i won another step to the 550 and they called a 1050 but it never went again i was so disapointed but i was suprised they were running 3 satalite tables. Not to mention it took almost 2hrs to get it from cage, and still no cards for the events. It makes me alittle nervous to have my 1.1k and 2.5k tickets sitting in there computer with no paper work to prove i won, i hope they are in soon.
  • I thought the pretending to be a female aspiring to be xuan liu was disturbing, not anything that blondefish said in this thread. I have since taken a backseat on this stance, as I am a firm believer that anyone can live their life in any way he (or she) aspires. Power to you my friend!

I will be at casino niagara this week practicing my live game for the 5k, feel free to find me and I'll grab us a beer!

    GOOD LUCK ALL!

Where is that game spread?? What are the buy-in limits? Rake or session fee??

    Just wondering....

Playing $1/$2 NLHE ring games is highly recommended practice for a 5K NLHE MTT!!

    Good Luck is right!!! :D

Woodbine. I think it's a $5 max rake, but not sure on that.

Good to see that your beliefs in this regard are firm and you've decided to take the backseat. Was a little worried given what you said earlier ITT.

Well, as I said... I was a little concerned at first that he might have been being a little homophobic or something. But I'm reassured now that he's quite.. accepting.. of people from all walks of life. Good to hear!

I think any one of us would ecstatic to have the talent that Ms Liu (Xuan?) has, male or female. As for pretending to be a female . . . since when?
