7 years later, I have a house, I'm engaged and life is pretty sweet. The dream didn't pan out like I'd hoped, but at least I know and don't have any what ifs about it. As well, I'm better off for the journey.

If you're truck isn't coming out there any time soon, get used to the skytrain. It can get you to all the casinos in the GVRD within very short order with very little walking from the stations. It's pretty quick too.
