First time for everything - saw a guy wearing sunglasses at the 1/2NL table at Woodbine.
Actually seen sunglasses at this electronic poker room many times since I started playing in January. Bet I know exactly who you are talking about! LOL
Gonna be there right after work tonight instead of coming tomorrow. Friday nights are too damn busy avoid at all cost!!!:arghh:
I've also seen a guy at Mohawk bring his own stack of chips to the electronic tables to riffle, flip and play with.
Heading there tonight - hopefully can get a table going. I'm a little surprised that Woodbine sounds like it is super busy and Mohawk is empty most of the time. I thought they'd be drawing more players out west of Milton.
I played for 2 hours early this morning. Got there just after midnight.
Played PLO shorthanded for about 10 - 15 minutes. The table broke and then I found out that there were many open seats at the 1-2 NLHE tables. I felt like we were just donating to OLG playing PLO so shorthanded.
Booked a small win, but I felt like a bit of a donkey playing NLHE. Too many loose calls. I am trying to get back into the HE frame of mind. I've stayed away from it so long online, but I enjoy playing at Woodbine.
It would be amazing to get a PLO8 game going there.
Is there an option to get the rake lowered, just like any shorthanded table with a human dealer?
It's been asked, doubt they care because people will keep playing. Or I don't think reduced rake would keep people playing once it gets to 4 or 5 players from experience.
I was about to go to the front desk to ask about reducing the rake, but then we went down to heads up and the game broke. I see now that it's been asked before.
after Friday's session, was able to get my hourly rate at Woodbine above $100 to $135/hr. Although, still waiting to have my first winning session at $1/$2 Omaha

only five sessions...definitely not maintainable at that rate. Most impressive is my aces have held both times all in pre-flop versus kings. Personally I like the 5/5 game as most of the players usually have $1 to $2k in front of them. Its a very deep 5/5 game.

I hate having 200 or less for 1/2, I can't imagine playing 5/5 with 200
usually the 5/5 list is a lot shorter than 1/2, so the odd 1/2 player will join the 5/5 table for $200. Actually the 5/5 players usually buy in pretty deep considering it is 200BB game. Obvious sign there is demand for $5/$10 +.
Last night at Woodbine I took a look at one of the 2/5 games and one of the players had a chip count of $4926 in front of him and two other players had over $2000. Still have never tried the NL 2/5 game yet,but one day soon I'm going to bring my 1/2 winnings and just try my luck on the higher limit game.
A week ago, my buddy drove us out to Georgian Downs on a Thursday night where I got to play 1/2 there.I found that particular table a lot easier and softer than tables at Woodbine.
anyone heading to Woodbine tonight? likely starting w Omaha, followed by some 5/5 and 2/5. Fridays are always has a good mix of players. Need to get one positive Omaha session

you should definitly try 2/5, you will do very well if your winning player.
I also hate their "moving players to the main game" rationale. Say there is 2 tables of 2/5NL, if their "main" (first) table has a player leave, regardless of the number of players on the second table, they'll move someone over to the first table.
When will Woodbine start having tournaments? There are 1-4 electronic tournaments most days of the week in the other electronic rooms.
Is it the consensus that Woodbine has become the best B&M room in Ontario to play cash games, i.e., more +EV than Fallsview & Brantford? Is the rake 10% up to $5? Do you get at least 40 hands/hour?

I hope you pointed and laughed . . .

What's the min/max on the 5/5 game?
Max 1k, Min is maybe 200 or 250? Not 100% sure.
$200 to $1k; sometimes they try to force everyone to straddle every hand

Sigh!
Self brag, was able to up my hourly rate LTD to $143 after Friday's session
never seen open tables with players waiting on a weekend, this ain't Fallsview
"There's no point opening up a new table because as soon as we do, the room starts to empty out. Even at 9pm on a Saturday night."
Really? This is your thought process? Soon it will be just like Fallsview with this kind of thinking .
