  • Very similar to online games, hard to win 2 in a row, programed to spread the wins no doubt and no control over talking...sharing

Of course you can't win two in a row . . . your foil hat interferes with the wifi.

    Agree with this a lot

A poker club bashing its competition with a larger player pool that probably deals twice the hands/hour at what I assume is a much cheaper rake%? Shocking!
  • anyone going tonight? might drop in to see the place.
  • About the misclicked all in, I would have given him the option to fold to my $8 bet (i.e. him hand me $20 cash or whatever the pot would have been and then I fold in the game) before I called the obviously erroneous all in..

    Honestly!!!???
  • I have been about a dozen times and have only lost once.{small loss] I have cashed out up to 3850 at one 6 hour session playing 2 5. The better players are winning at more than twice their normal rate. Play your best game and you will be a consistent winner. I made over 18000 in december .

lol I lost my first session but played pretty bad, other 2 sessions I played a 2-3 hours and left up $150-$225ish playing 1/2 nl
  • $18k is pretty redonkulous for any cash game for one month.

Next time don't let Tony and BTP bother you so much....lol

But in all honesty the game is a joke @ woodbine.
  • I lost heaps. My table was boring. I played more hands then everyone else combined lol

This sounds like a lie 18k playing max 5/5 in 31 days where there is holidays. If its true hats off to you

I lost 5-600 last time out. Still a good average tho

Ok maybe correct this a bit.....you lost 2 pair a set twice and you got called pretty light in another spot....

I've been there twice, played only once though, played a mix of some $2/5NL, $5/10 limit omaha 8, and some 2/5 PLO.

    Lost $160, never been back.

it's on the internet, it must be true... :D
  • Anyone know whether they are planning any MTT soon?

Anyone know whether comp collected ever expires?

For a solid winning player (5-10% of the poker population) a run like this, I would estimate, is probably within 2 std dev. It's an unlikely event but when you consider how many customers a card room has it's not unthinkable. It is improbable but as gamblers we should all understand that black swans exist.
  • I been visiting woodbine regularly over the past one month. (been to fallsview only once) I have to say this place is pure FISH TANK. Especially friday/saturday nights.

    I switch between 1/2 and 2/5.

    in my openion...
the software adds little action to game but I don't think it favors a seat/player/
for sure its programmed to take max rake every hand.
I seen too many set over set on flop, to many runner runner flush.

it is very possible to make 20k playing 2/5 or 5/5 in one month.
I have cashed out 2500+ more than once playing 1/2
also $4500 playing 2/5 (this is after losing a 3000k pot to this idiot who chased his gutshot to river) hahaha

anyways My screen name is My real name YAMA.
    peace out.

Also 3 at Mohawk but really not fully used...

Mohawk runs a $100 tournament every Sunday @ 2pm. 30 players max and latley they've been close to selling out.

Good structure - 10K start stack, 20 min. blind levels, top 3 payout, plenty of playing time since it's Virtual Poker...

    Extremely soft play

Bob had told me about this one, will try it out at some point...

    Yeah, 10% is pretty standard.
  • Finally made it out to Woodbine on a Friday. Got there are around 7:30pm and all tables were full. 15+ players on both the 1/2 and 2/5 lists. tables running 1/2(7), 2/5 (3) and 5/5 (1). Takes about 15 minutes to get casino card (at poker room) and then you have to go to the cashier to open a Poker Pro account (pick username, make deposit on card). Then you can put your name on the lists. Signed up for all three lists, and got on 5/5 about 30 minutes (only 7 players waiting). Only played about 1 hour and game was decent. Didn't see any crazy action but more all-ins than usual, especially short stacks. Players don't really seem to take a lot of time to make a decision. No pre-flop three betting. Average stack was pretty low for 5/5.

    Some comments/observations:

    - when players sign up for more than one list, they should ask them if they want to stay on the other lists when they get called to the table. This would save a lot of time calling out player's names that are already playing;

    - they should have chip runners since you can only add cash to your table by going to the cashier. Would be a real pain. Give the runner your cash, they will give you a marker and they will go to the cage to deposit the funds on your card for you.

    - indicate raise on player's individual screen; sometimes its hard to know the raise amount as you can only see stacks of chips on the main screen in front of the player.

    - put a mini cashier in the poker room so you can cash out easier than having to go to the main cage. Probably most players just leave funds on their card which encourages them to come back again.

    Definitely worth a visit.

You can also rabbit hunt every hand (think they charge $0.25 rake).

I asked that question on Wednesday. They figure to have a 3-5 table tournament starting in about 2 months.

Reasoning is the staff all need training before the can do it. Comps I think are only for 90 days I believe.

Btw another positive trip. When you realize they will call off with TP and no kicker its easier to win. Played 1/2...over all I thought it was a soft game, but could have been just my table.
  • Yeah the 1-2 is so soft I don't even mind playing @ that level. As long as I can pull in a decent amount over a couple of hours the drive is worth it.
