Overall, I think they should both be stopped really...
If forced to watch something, I take MMA because I can appreciate the skilsl more. I know nothing about boxing, but much of the martial arts employed in UFC is familiar.
Also, MMA is the "safer" of the two overall. Submissions and such do take away from the "make his brain rattle until he can't stand". I remember hearing a stat somewhere that 80+% of all professional boxers suffer some form of brain damage. That is SCARY.
Also, look at Mohammed Ali - named athlete of the CENTURY. He's heartbreakingly debilitated now.
