  • So, when do the tickets go on sale for scalping? I mean, er, for those who want a seat?
  • Scalping did not work last year
  • Scalping only really worked for the $1000 event, and some where able to hustle some $2500's. But apparently scalping will probably be less this year due to the fake tickets from last year.
  • $1000 vouchers went for $700 last year day of tournament
  • oh yeah, i remember that. Most people I know unloaded theirs for $1300 a week before the 1k. The greedy ones that probably wanted $1500+ got screwed lol
  • Steve and Popkorn...didn't a bunch of fraudulent vouchers appear?

Then Fallsview refuses to give full results for first time in its history, even though pro agents, major websites (db) all requested together...

Prizepool adjustment? Nobody is going to stand and add up the board, but if you print it...

Guess we'll never know but I think Ted can confirm players where in field that got sucked in and RC's tried to sort out.

That was what I heard, but never saw anything first hand.
  • Yeah I think scalping will be kept at a minimum if nothing this year. Who knows though I could be wrong. Hopefully fallsview has fixed their system and bought that little machine that every vegas casino uses to print out a seat card.
  • Prop bet?

May be tough to monitor but I would use a mediator for values. Ticket prices...high and low....

You want to say the max price you hear a ticket go for and I will say it will be higher or lower.
  • I was thinking more along the lines of whether or not Fallsview would do anything to control scalping (like what has already been mentioned).
  • Are we still talking about scalping?

You know its not going to stop. If you wait until a week before the tournament to buy a seat - it's your own fault.
  • Fallsview said they were gonna look into the amount of seats they will sell any given players at a time

the outrage there this year was intense

it was funny to see people ADAMANT about not paying vig to get a seat and were willing to trade coaching and stuff instead, but then when push came to shove and there were seats for like 900$ i saw them for, those people wouldn't even take advantage of it with the added EV lol, like wtf

i dunno, i think its great the 1K seats go like hot cakes but the scalping really is a retarded thing

i hope it stops from like an ethics point of view

Yeah, one of my buddies bought a fake ticket. Apparently most (maybe even all) of them came from one individual. I heard they caught the guy. I think the suspect was this short young guy that hung out outside the poker room approaching everyone if they needed tickets. . I was with a buddy outside the pokerroom when he approached us asking us if we needed $1k tickets. The way he spoke already rose my suspicion. He claimed he had over 20 tickets available, and said he had won it all, and flashed a stack of them in his pocket. I'm not a fallsview regular myself, but I know how much luck is involved with those satellites, and I found it super hard to believe that he had won so many tickets. Also he was selling it lower than everyone else. So I just ignored him. And apparently everyone that bought tickets from him, ended up with fake tickets.
  • When do tickets for this go on sale?
  • It seems that Fallsview has removed the 2013 Fallsview Poker Classic page from their web site
  • My friend said that Fallsview told him that the FPC satellites have started already. I phoned Fallsview and they don't even know the dates for the FPC or when the satellites will start!

It seems that the Fallsview employee my friend talked to got confused with the $200 and $300 tournaments. Has anybody played these +EV tournaments at Fallsview or Brantford yet?

  • I'm playing in a satellite for this, this weekend.
  • I'm gonna shoot an email to someone that might have some current info as he is on planning committee I believe. Hope to be back with latest soon. It does sound like improvements being looked at.
  • Same line up and no official dates so far
  • I just got off the phone with the poker room and the satellites start Monday November 5th, 11:00am.

Presumably they're available for straight purchase at that time also.

    Good luck everyone
  • I happen to be there on the way back home from Seneca and can confirm above that you can register events or play satellites from Monday.

    Dates are 1k on Jan 16, 2.5k on Jan 18, 5k on Jan 20.
  • Dates suck, no go for me this year
  • Don't know why they keep changing the dates

    January - February - January

Keep it in February. That worked best
  • I agree, feb was perfect
  • Brochure and satellite details now on fallsview website.
  • Fallsview Poker Donkaments

  • Spectators allowed to watch final tables!

Awaiting constanza's homecoming for these events.:)
  • I feel like we are in an infinite loop. Gotta write it up, people will want to know, but these unchanging schedules and formats are soooooo dry....
  • Why do they not show the blind schedule and length of blinds for the main events or the super sattellites on the brochure ?

    Its so tilting.
