IMO it's all about wsop and vdse. The others should be a backup plan, or if you only want or have time for a small tourney

Remember these are all 2+ day tourneys, if u want a one day tourney, the others will come in handy.
  • Finally booked my room today, RIO 4 nights for $80 total. Ship.

Good site to find good hotel deals for WSOP and other tnys: pokertripdeals.com. There's a cool search feature that searches hotels near any tourney in the world.

As for WSOP for me, I'm planning on going out 2x--once in late May and then at end of June through end. Haven't decided which exact tourneys to play. I always feel like the $1Ks are such crapshoots so I don't know...

Thinking about June 18-21/22 prolly just play some VDSE given the WSOP events don't interest me at that time

Starting stacks for anything below 5k events seem very low to me (I know they are long levels, but still, comma man unless you are playing tonnes of the low buy-ins it's a huge crapshoot for any single event).

Yea i think everyone wants to go play a couple WSOP events the first few times they go to the series. Next time I go I might not even play 1 WSOP event but just play a bunch of the smaller events around vegas like at binions and GN but thats just me.

    Don't forget VDS

Yea i played in 4 of them i think when I was there last time they are great too.
  • June 15 - 19. Short trip, not sure about WSOP events yet. Any good hotels deals? Rio is pricey on all the websites. Might slum at Palazzo :)

Looks like I am staying at Caesars, $300 for four nights. Not bad considering it includes a Friday/Sat night.
  • Do they increase the cash game area at the Rio during the WSOP? Is it still better action at the other poker rooms during the WSOP (Venetian/Bellagio)? Usually play 2/5 or 5/10 when in Vegas. Thanks.
  • heard venetian cash is unreal soft.....2/5 is superrrrr soft at rio, 5/10 i think youd be better off playing at venetian or aria or even bellagio I guess.

    From yesterday's WSOP conf call:

In regard to side action, Jack Effel says they've expanded the cash game area, offering all limits on approximately 100 tables.
  • its confirmed im playing #43 and #44 , a HS cash friend of mine is staking me and letting me stay at his place

going from june 21-27, staying on his couch which kind of sucks, but im sure ill still have a blast

tbh im just really pumped to play in my first ever WSOP, ive been dreaming of it for years

Aren't these contradictions? HS = 10 bedroom palace?

did really well last trip, 4/4 sessions. Lots of rich business types trying to bluff every hand and impress their wives sitting behind them.
  • WSOP starts one week from today, with the traditional Casino Employees event. :)

Yes but it involves money to get there and all that I have a limited bankroll atm
  • <$200 each way for gas from Edmonton. 16-18 hours if you plug away at the trip hard.
Get a buddy and $36 a night room at many of the older ish yet till good casinos. Aka Excalibur etc.

Stock the room with water and drinks, it's about a $1 a barrel for most there.

$5 at the fat food joints will get you a dozen burgers.

I just found out I might have to cancel this trip, or I might have even had an extra seat in the van.

My daughters final exams fall on same week, they won't budge on when she writes. I'd loose my deposit at RIO I think, going to talk to wife when she gets home. Going after has far less appeal as everyone will already be gone. Going before is prob not that great either, as my daughter obv has to study.

May just plan a plane trip for me and wife only, shorter period.

Ask me how tilted I am right now, really need a break from work and only tried to make this plan perfect 3 months ago....FAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKK
  • Changed reservations, flying arrive same day, leave a day earlier.

Actually cut my room costs in half now that kids will be sat, overall, costs will be about half. On hand it sucks as was going to be family vacation, but will just do something else when we return and now Vegas schedule, well there isn't one!
