  • Does this interest anyone? A buddy of mine did it in Florida. Said it was a blast.

Experiences - Richard Petty Driving Experience
  • I know moose loves the place, so Todai has Restaurant.com Gift Certificates where you can sometimes get a $25 gift cert for $2. Used it for a few places now on previous trips with no issues. Pink Taco is also on there for JohnnieH (I still got 1 from before we can use on this Oct trip)
  • Did anyone else's flight change? Ours did.

We now leave on that ridiculously early flight out, at 6am! No sleep that night for me!

What do you mean, THEM!? You're coming with us!!!
  • Looking at booking Sept 27 to Oct 3. Any suggestions for hotel discounts as the rates that week are brutal. Is it worth looking at the Aria poker rate of 79, 5 hours/ave required? Cheers.
  • Use your total rewards card.

Rio seems to have the best rate that week (ave of $40/night). Don't really use my Total Rewards card for anything but poker so do you think I can still get a better rate? Its the Friday/Saturday nights that are really pricey, Rio is coming in at $130 for the Friday and $155 for the Saturday. Will have to look around for some discount codes.

I usually stay at PH or TI but the rate is usually no more than $60/night. Must be a big convention that week.

We're booked in the same weekend, and I don't think there is a huge function for that weekend.

I think I was quoted slightly cheaper prices before I entered mine and my wife's TR #s. Are you going with someone? If so, get their #! We are trying to goad Compuease into coming that weekend. PM him, maybe you two could split a room.

Or why not call the hotel directly? They lowered my rate when I talked to a rep in person. Maybe they can help you.
  • My TR is showing comped nights in Windsor all summer, and two weeks of comps, including weekends at Caesar's Vegas in Dec - (just sayin Johnnie)

    How about February?

How much play do you need to have to get these types of comps? My big problem is remembering to use my card when I play slots or roulette. Even after a few long poker sessions, I am so bagged I just forget to sign out with my card.

I found a code for PH at $80/night which isn't too bad. Might go with Aria for the Fri/Sat and just make sure I can get 10/hrs in at the poker room over the 48 hours. It limits my flexibility but I should be able to knock that off with one long session.

Anyone up for the Gun Store? Always wanted to fire an M60 :)

I'm not sure about Moose's rates fe December, but our deals for September is because I used 2 TR #s for 1 room.

Did you call any hotels? It's always cheaper then looking online.

Don't forget there are many hotels/motels that are a short hop from the the Strip, at a fraction of the price.

As for TGS, I've always wanted to go but it's hard justifying $100 (or more!) for 30 seconds of shooting.
  • no go with the TR deal; called about PH and the best rate I can get is $100/night. Still better to book online at $80/night. Didn't realize Sept was high season. Anyone come across a good promo code, let me know.
  • Yeah, I can't pay that much for a hotel room with IP, Harrahs and Flamingo just down the street.
  • FWIW - I've heard MANY good things about Tropicana after their recent renovation. Just another hotel to consider now I guess.
  • All booked Sept 27th to Oct. 3rd on Westjet. Now to figure out hotels. Might do Rio until Friday and Hilton for the remainder. Hopefully I can keep up with you young guns :)

lol young guns. I'm 35 but I'll be in bed by 11pm at the latest as I have the body of an 80 year old.

May I ask how much your flight is costing you?

Since I have sleep apnea and have to use a machine to sleep these days, I won't be that far behind. Sucks getting old. Used points so not much. $199 and $259 + tax on website, although I took the morning flights both ways which are more than the red eye or the late flights. Hate getting to Vegas at 1:30am Toronto as throws off the rest of the trip IMO.

Any decent tournament series that week?

Wow, that's a good price for direct out of TO

I'm looking into tournaments, but I don't see any big series that week, although I could be wrong.

I'd like to play tournaments at casinos I haven't been to yet, so I'm looking at the $340 at V, the $250 at Bellagio, and whatever Wynn offers. I'm sure I'll play the 12pm donkament at Rio also.

As for cash games I'd like mostly stick to Harrah's casinos so I can earn comps on my TR card.

if you don't mind late or red eye, you can get $189 each way right now. Packages are the way to go but since I am going solo, it wasn't an option for me.

For cash I like Venetian, MGM and PH (in the evening). I think PH is really underrated and I always find it to be the softest game in town. They get tons of people wandering in to play. Not many regulars as the other poker rooms. Also its a great place to play in the evening. Isn't the Rio room really small? Like to try Aria as well as I have heard good things about it. V and MGM always seem to be the most busy. Likely mainly play 2/5 or 5/5.

Probably squeeze in a couple tournaments as well. V always seems busy and well liked.
  • Yeah John, he's paying each way and taxes on top will almost double it.

tax is about $110 total. Its really Toronto that kills you. Tax from V to T is nominal. You guys worry too much about money !
  • Cheaper trip = more gambool

Exchanged today @ .979 or $100 cdn = $102.16 usd. Keep screwing around with your economy you stupid Americans!
