  • Weeeeeeeeeeeee . . . welcome back, Brent.

So, who from Brampton wants to carpool?
  • IN!!

Welcome Back to West Side!!! Been WAY too long guys!
  • AJ, are you driving or am I?
  • welcome back; for new members to this site, I can highly recommend these tournaments. I think these were the first tournaments that I played in that got me hooked :)

Six of one, half dozen of another. Do you plan on busting out early or after first break??
    >:D
  • Well, I plan on winning, but that has never been my strong suit.

Regardless, there will be a cash game for you to pass the time until I bust . . .

Lets see how many from the Hill are interested, and go from there . . .
  • I MIGHT make the drive in - anyone from TO/Scarborough want to carpool?

Put me down as tentative for now please (going to need directions as I haven't been there for awhile)
  • I am in. I will need directions though as I have not played at one of your events.
  • Ditto . . . pretty sure I know where it is, but want to make sure. They serve Polish beer, as I recall. ^-^
  • Sign me up please.

They will be serving your polish beer.

Directions will be sent a little closer to the date to those who need them.

To confirm how long this has been, one of the first times I played live pokerz was at a Westside game.

  • For those of you who are asking, West Side Poker Club started from a group of guys in a garage. Cameron and I wanted to do something bigger, 50 people or more, but wanted the same rec room feeling in the tournament. We ran our first tournament in Guleph in 2003 with 90 some people. Jeff Campbell was our first winner. We ran different styles with different buys and found that this was the right price most people would come for a tournament and the competion. We have had people come as far as Sarnia, The Falls, Oshawa and Barrie. They come for the value and the high quality of play.

It wasn't long before West Side Poker Club secured the services of the best Tournament Director in the province. Al has been the tournament director for poker tournaments, scrabble tournaments and even magic (sp) tournaments a role playing card tournament.

West Side Poker Club has had as many as 146 people in one tournament. We even rented a boat and cruised Lake Ontario for 8 hours playing poker having a great time.

About 3 1/2 years ago Cameron had a stroke. We decided to shut West Side Poker Club down. Now that some time has past, Cam is much better, and Al being a new father we talked and thought if there was interest we would try and run a few tournaments, but instead of running them every month like the past, we would focus on three dates October, March, and June.

We trust you will check us out if you have never been here before and thanks to all those for the gracious comments and look forward to seeing you soon.

  • Brent and Cam run a great event. My first time out, I could only make the cash game, and made a huge score (for me). Needless to say, I was hooked. I so desperately wanted to win one of their events, as much for the Ring that was awarded to the winner as for the $$$ involved. With the possible exception of the rebirth of the Royal Cup, this is probably the best poker news in Southern Ontario this year.

    Welcome back boys . . .
  • great people and fun games...if I lived in TO still I would head out
  • Damn, that is the date for my October tournament. Sorry, but 12:30 is too early for me. Where have I heard that before? I do like your late rule though.
  • This was the 1st big (>20 ppl) tournament that I played. Still remember driving down that long driveway in the middle of nowhere wondering what I was getting myself in for... Fantastic tournament, real good structure and great times. Look forward too it.
Buzzard, suggest changing the date of yours so as to not conflict as they are both great and would hate not to be able to play both... Where Brent holds these is probably the limiting factor as to dates.
  • thought i was seeing things.....then i hopped out of the thread and it was still there. Damn right count me in!!!!! +2 as well please!!! looking forward to the rebirth of westside!!!
