I booked at the (new?) Holiday Inn on Macleod for 129/n.

Already preregged for the 3 events on the COPC website.

    Hopefully meet some people there!

Quite a few players stay here, is nice and close to night life, down town and decent to all 3 hosting venues.
  • Deerfoot Inn is the best option to stay at, especially if you can share a room. Most of the action will be there.
  • Didnt read through all of this so if it was already mentioned my bad, but do you see these events being sold out. How early should i register. I plan on playing in quiet a few of the events

There is basically no cost to pre register. They only reserve your seat and charge your CC the reg. fee (ie $100 on the 1K). You can cancel anytime, and if you dont cancel and dont show up, you just lose the fee.

PM me if ur going. Am leaving from Toronto on the 20th.

Ok so if you pre register you only get charged the fee, and then when you get there you pay the actual buyin of the tourney?
And im like 99% going. Not sure what day yett.

Yes. I regged for the 1100, 220 and 330 and was charged 150.

    I'll take 10% of these 3 if you're selling.

I may play the 220 or 330 -- if I play one or both what %age are you willing to swap?

If Im only swapping with 1 person, between 10-20%.
  • The events with smaller caps will most likely sell out. The more people that pre register the better we can balance venues too. We have sold out many $550 events and places like Regina nad Edmonton almost always break 200 in the $1100's. Considering the hype and the fact this is the largest series yet, I am very confident many of the events will cap, if not all. We had 378 last year in the $550 in Regina, 240 last year in the $550 at the Open, the numbers for sell out are realistic. Most of the players in the 5k will play the $2200, so that should fill nicely too.

So yes, pls pre-register if it is not a problem and thanks for the interest!

Is there anyway to check if the prereg was successful?

I guess I could wait for a couple days to see if they bill my CC, but I did not receive a confirmation email (even though Im pretty sure everything went through OK)
  • I will check for you if you PM name. the web guy can look. the confirmation emails will start next week. Unless you registered for the 5k your card won't be billed anything, unless you dont show.
  • Jonboy...what if we prereg. for a 550, but then sat. into the 2200 the day prior and can't play the 550? Will we be charged the fee?
  • No. You won't be charged if you are in another event. There will be a bit of admin work after the series to sort through unique situations and check names, but the no shows are the only ones that will be billed. Just checked with CEO. There will be CPT staff around and the Casino's can let us know if anyone tells them to pass on this type of thing.
  • Jon - Is Event #7 (The Tuesday tournament) a $330 or a $550?

Not that it matters, but there is conflicting information listed on the website.
  • So far I think Ill be preregistering for events 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 and depending how I do and if they are sold out I might play 3, 10 and 11. But for event 2 if im still in event 1 do i get the money back for it, and how. ty

According to Jon you are never actually charged anything.

So - You play event 1 and make day 2, as long as you unregister from event 2 there are no charges. If you forget to unregister, you're out $100.
  • Wetts will you sell 10% straight up or are you only swapping? I have no idea if I'll make it for any events at the moment.

    Will sell 10, no markup.

    Stars? Email me gtapoker2@hotmail.com

Oh, do you still want the Winner monies?
  • Just preregistered and was wondering, do they assign what casino you go to, because it wasnt part of the preregistration. Also will there we emails sent out soon?
  • So you can pre-reg without getting you CC charged the full buyin for every event except the 5K HU? So as soon as I register on the website I get billed for the full amount?
  • only the reg fee would be billed for 5k and only for 5k. They are just wrapping up the confirmation e-mail message body. keep ya posted. We will try to balance casinos, so they haven't really put an option out yet.

very nice...I meant to try to get in on that one today..but got sidetracked. gl!
  • Since this is the Canadian Championships , It would be nice if the Casinos across the country would hold satellites for this. I may waut for the BCPC. I think I am overdue for a trip to Vancouver.
  • Nice work V3kk3d, watched for a bit but was at Stampede Classic. Sats will be running in different rooms for the next 30 days, that is the push now that most of the rooms own majors have passed. Will start a thread and list over next few days and start making calls.
  • Cake has sats to this now. sundays 7pm est $215. Don't know if there was any overlay, the subsat I tried playing didn't have enough players to run, didn't remember to go back and look how this went.

    Just buy in.

I already have car/hotel. Just book a flight.
  • Can't, not enough vacation time. Would love to play these events though
