Ugh Hard Rock is closing down their swanky $10 million dollar poker room. FML.

This sucks, as I wanted to check it out.

On the plus side, maybe Chiproom will buy up all the chips!

This is getting really annoying but hey, it's an extra 50 min in Vegas!

Now we leave 25 min earlier from Detroit (2:05) and leave Vegas 15 min later (8:25 am). Yeah but that's only 40 min extra you say? Somehow the flight is now faster to Vegas so we gain another 10 min. Woot!

    Suxors.

Now we leave Detroit 2:57 pm and leave Vegas 8:15 am. Over/under on how many more times they change it?

I didn't find it too impressive IMO when I was there for the 2p2 party in 2009
  • Not sure if this affects you guys but Spirit is going to charge per carryon bags but there is grandfathering in if purchased before April 6

lol, I thought this would happen soon. It seemed like almost every flight was getting delayed because everyone was just doing carry on for free, hardly anything was going into the luggage hold, and it was a mad scramble to find a spot in the overhead bins. There never seemed to be enough space and delays resulted. Now it's cheaper to check your bag than carry on so it will go the other way....
  • I call $5 luggage carousel roulette!

and yes I think this will be for the better. It WAS getting ridiculous, as long as they don't lose the luggage of course. Small backpacks are still free but they go under the seat, which I did anyways because I always carried on my laptop and wanted to be able to pull it out without having to stand up and drag it out from the o/h bin and also not worry about some oaf crushing it with his overloaded carryon bag.
  • Just gotta figure when to do this:

  • I am less than a week till vegas..... I will send drunken pictures..... have a party invite a week Friday at the Bar Noir at LAX in the luxor. Should be a blast
  • Moose what is the best poker room to take a complete newbie? I'm thinking the MGM grand because I think they may have a .5 1 NL game with 50 max buy in.

I'm thinking at the MGM as you are thinking as well as the Excal, as that has always been an "easy" room for me with lots of rooks...

Also I believe Bills has a .50/1 game...
  • Thanks Jeff,

The other place that came to mind was hooters, as their 1/2 NL didn't hit me as being a tough game. I just want to keep her away from games like 1/3 NL at the wynn etc.
  • Wierd my post disappeared.

MGM has .5/1, and good drinks.

Bill's has .5/1, mediocre drinks but good comps and AA cracked from 10 am to 2pm, which makes the game a total rock garden with everyone buying in for the min. IMHO this makes Bill's the best for a total beginner, if the whole point is to try it out with minimum risk. You can transfer your comps to Harrahs total rewards or ask for a paper comp.

I think the game at Hooters rarely runs.

Ok I made it public and it should work now.
  • Good Luck to the CPFers Hopefully the poker is as good as it was to me...... I love it when I flop the nuts and have 2 all ins in front of me.... MGM I love your poker room.

Craps was a different story until I rolled Sunday night at the El Cortez with 10x odds for almost 50 minutes...... made the whole trip back and then some.
  • This was taken before we got too drunk..... All drinks were complimentary until 2 am that night.....
