No not yet. There is 3 in the room so far with Mark, Johnnie and Mario. You will need to get your own room for Sat/Sun/Mon night since you're flying back on 18 while the rest of us are gone on the 15th.

Us rocks don't need sleep, I'll just play 100 hours or so straight. :)
  • By the way, for those of you going I will be doing my regular tournament evaluation of Vegas $150. and under tournaments and will make it available asap, including buyin, rake, patience level, skill, etc. I have done this for our group each time we have been there. This will also include a couple of Omaha tournies I know of. Keep in mind that the Venetian deep stack series is also on while we are there, $330. and up. There are also daily satellites into these. (anyone wanting to "sponsor" me into these deepstacks, please speak now or forever wish you did) :)

Assuming I get around to booking, def will play a couple of the deepstacks, and probably donk out early enough to donate at the Caesar's nightly as well.

You mean you may not go?
  • The best-value series by far has returned with the Caesars Palace Mega Stack Series on November 2-20! It will be going heads-up again against the second-best Venetian DSE, which also has two-day events on November 1-25.

My roommate in Las Vegas returned there this week, so he will be disappointed that he'll miss the two best-value series next month. I know that the Mega Stack satellites start on November 1, but can anybody confirm if the Venetian will have satellites? If Fallsview or other Ontario casino won't have any more +EV SNGs until next year, then I may have to return to Las Vegas much earlier than I planned.

No room booked as yet, but given the state of the US economy I gotta believe there will be great deals as we get closer.....
  • Might as well add the Venetian info:

The Venetian - Resort, Hotel, Casino.

But I think I would be up for the Wed Caesar's tourney.

I Thought Vegas was -ev because of travel/hotel costs? Think differently now Buddy? Actually I do know that Venetian has at least single table satellites into the bigger events, not sure about the smaller buyins. I'm also not sure of the structure, ie are they any better than the Fallsview WPT ones...

Was Caesar's Mega Stack recently announced or something? Didn't remember seeing it when I searched for it awhile back...

And yes, Venetian offers satellites to their tournaments...single table satellites.

Not really....t1000 to start, 25/50, 15 minutes level crapshoot.
  • This being my first Vegas trip (and Mark and Mario too!) I'd like to hit Binnions because it's Binnions and I'd like to see Hard Rocks new "Poker Lounge" as it seems really nice.

After that I really don't care, I'll follow you guys around and play whatever.

Or someone can lead me by the hand as I'll be fairly shammered :)

ps....looks like Canada's Poker Forum is invading Las Vegas!

lol, oh my god, I could be in trouble, may be 3 broken jaws from them hitting the concrete when you see what you have in store for you..... lol... Are you guys wanting to play mostly tournaments or a mix, and what buy-ins? All the good ones are $80. and up and the really good ones are $150. and up.. So plan your budget accordingly. Word to the wise, have a set gambling budget per day, ie stop loss and stick to it. Nothing worse than having a bad 2 days and then wondering what to do the last couple of days. Actually this also applies to your physical well being as well.. Avoid burn out, we can't all have Big Bob's stamina... :) I'm really looking forward to this now...

Not to burst your buble or anything J...but from what I've read, the HR Poker Lounge is pretty dead with only a couple of tables running and 5 at the best times.

Our flight out is at 6:05am #771, The rest are coming back on the 15th at 10:50 PM, #788. Right now I think the total cost with taxes would be about $274. with just carry on and no cancellation ins. Think Moose is going down a little later in the morning, probably same cost. It's the flight back on the 15th that is more costly right now and only very few seats left I think. Better hurry if you are coming back the same day as them.

I'm paying just over $200 but am staying until the 18th.

Jeff..whats your plan for the last couple of nights? I'm contemplating between leaving with them or staying another day or two.
  • Ok....so in our room it's:

    Johnnie
    Mark
    Mario
    Wes
    Shannon

I pity the maid that cleans up after us!

EDIT: I wonder if I should drink more before we go to increase my tolerance, or dry out first then binge like crazy?

I think with this group you mean passed out by dinner time.. :)

Not if compuease stakes me into the Deep Stack and Mega Stack satellites! ;) Playing at local games such as Fallsview Casino has much lower extra costs and therefore higher EV than flying to Las Vegas to play poker. However, the pros at Fallsview have told me that the poker room becomes dead after the WPT and there will be much less money to be made until the warm weather and tourists come back next year. That is why taking another poker vacation to Las Vegas on November 16-25 to win seats to the $2,510 Venetian main event and $1,060 Mega Championship is so tempting....
  • need to know if you will all be doing your own stunts, or will you require stand-ins?

will try to get costume fittings and makeup sorted out well before departure.

too late for the Sunburst, but International for next year is a reasonable goal to shoot for.

    need a catchy title....

I'm trying to decipher your post, does this mean you're in? We need a good stunt director.
  • Is anybody going to be left in Las Vegas between November 16-25? A friend is playing at the Venetian DSE so his Westjet/Sahara package for November 18-24 is $644. I am so tempted to fly in on November 16.

November 16-17: play satellites until I win a seat to the Mega Championship on November 18.
After the Mega Championship, play Venetian satellites until I win a seat to their final event on November 23.
Any free days, I will play the $225 - $540 events.
