Hi i am coming from courtice east of toronto and will have room for anyone on the way. My wife and kids are not going to visit family now while i play so pm me if i am somewhat on the way and i can help out.
Actually just count me out. Betweenthe hassle of getting a ride and the school work I should be doing for Monday anyways it's probably better I pass on this one.
That doesn't answer my question. Are Highway 6 and Guelph Line the same road?
In typical poker tradition, the answer is, 'it depends'. Hwy 6 north of the 401 is not Guelph Line. Hwy 6 south of the 401 IS Guelph Line. Old Hwy 6 north of the 401 is Guelph Line too. Got it? You want the new,lemon-scented Hwy 6 north of the 401, I'm guessing. And it's not even that new anymore...

As usual Greg is making things WAY more complicated then they need to be. Lets ignore the fact he is wrong
From Toronto the exits off the 401, starting at Milton are;
Highway 25 - North and South are the Same exit
Guelph Line - North and South are the same exit
Highway 6 SOUTH - which is old highway six north as well, but you do not want to get on this exit for th tourney today
6-km down the road is;
Highway 6 NORTH - This will be the exit you want to take.
- Follow highway, until it ends at a T intersection (you can still continue north on the highway by taking a right run and following the signs but for the sake of today lets pretend the hwy ends at the T)
When you get to the T intersection, take a left turn - You will know your going the right way if you See a bunch of car dealerships and a Galaxy Movie Theatre.
Follow this road for about 6KM, until you reach a solitary Pioneer Gas station. This is Shantz Hill Road, make a right
Look for the Hall about 4KM down the road, last time there where balloons
What a bust of a day and I didn't even get to enter. I followed the directions given and wasn't able to find the place. I really don't know how i missed the location. I got right up to the Pioneer station, made the right and followed it up but never saw a place that looked like it'd support a lot of cars outside of the School and the Golf Course. The really sad part is that I have only myself to blame because I forgot to enter Brent's phone info in my cell before I left and only took Redington's directions with me (which were spot on man, thanks for the help). I hope everyone else had fun, all I've got to show for my day is 1/2 tank of gas less than when I started.
Can anyone let me know how the day went over all and who won the tournament. I do have there ring I will give it to them the next time I see them but I need to know.
Very organized tourney.....i busted out with two tables left.....I made some moves that I shouldn't have made.....I also won a prize for having quad aces!!! Great people and great poker! Thanks to West Side Poker!!! Hope everything is well with Cam!
:c: :d: : :h:
P.S. anyone in the Brampton area going to the next event? we should hook up a car pool!
I am sorry to everyone about the counter clockwise rotation of the seating plan I had alot on my mind. We have to go back this week to sick kids hospital as a team of docters are looking into things and at the blood work that they have taken. I thank everyone who has been thinking of my girl. Talk to you all later.
When it comes to talking about a tournament I some times don’t know where to start. Today is a different story. Early Saturday while playing a game at a friends, Cameron received a call that his daughter, Abby, was not doing well and his wife and my mother took her to Sick Kids hospital. She was there all night getting blood work done. It was a long night for Cam’s wife with the two kids, so after setting up with me, Cam went home to take care of his eldest daughter while his wife and Abby slept.
People started pitching in left and right to help make sure the 135 players who came to participate in one the largest tournament outside of any casino. From those who helped with such things as colour up and to picking up garbage and empty beer bottles to running the ring games for those who busted out of the tournament. Rather than name everyone in case I forget someone, a big Thank you toall!!! I do want to single out Mark “DrTyore†who said he would help out after one of our regular helpers was in a scrabble tournament in New York. Thanks for everything Mark.
The tournament began with 135 people and each person had 10 000 in chips. The blinds were based the same as they use in the WSOP® only we were using 20 minutes levels. It only took 12 minutes for the first player to bust out. John Kruk won a bottle of Crown Royal donated by Larry L from Waterloo Printing. It was during the first break I heard several times “I wish this was a re-buy tournament. I just had to laugh.
I am sure there are a lot of great stories as how people went out and I hope you share them in the next few days. I am going to start with the final table.
With 135 people we used the Poker Stars payout schedule and paid out the top 18 players. The last two received bubble prizes chips sets from “THE PLAYâ€, thanks Braad for the donation.Â
There was over 6800.00 in cash plus prizes handed out with:
1st Don Stoodley took home 2000.00 for first. 140.00 in bounties, an eight man octagon poker table donated by showdown tables, thanks Brad, the 400.00 ring, and the entry into our tournament of champions. Great Job Don!!!
2nd Jim Baily 1300.00
3rd Randy L 800.00
4th Rohit         500.00
5th Joanne B. 400.000
6th Patric P 300.00
7th Damian J 225.00
8th Jeff Shopp 170.00
9th Jeff Cookson 1 110.00
10th 18th 75.00 each
Again, thanks to all for making this a great event and we look forward to seeing you November 19th. For our 50.00 shoot out. Anyone who wants a copy of News Letter can email me at westsidepokerclub@rogers.com and I will email you an electronic version.
Great tourny again Brent. The only disapointment(besides not winnig ) was the top 18 being paid. I would suggest next time the top 11 only. That would mean about 500 more for the winner and if you can make it through a field of 140 players than you deserve a lion's share of the pot. Just a little food for thought
Hope your daughter is o.k! Cam
Excellently run tourney once again guys, Thanks from all the Milton Crew that were there. Our vote(s) are for paying down to 18 places as you did, or similar depending on how the numbers work out.
Thanks to all who have asked about Cam's daughter Abby. She went back to sick kids yesterday, the early diagnosis is it is Cystic Fibrosis but the doctors say it is to soon to tell/
Hey Cam sorry to hear about your daughter. If you have questions or need any info. don't hesitate to give my sister a call, she's an expert on c.p and also knows about support groups, financial aid, exemptions, etc... Let me know if there's anything I can do as well.
Best wishes
Happy, I thank-you for your support my wife was confused about some of the diagnoses it is actually Cystic Fibrosis and we are still waiting back from blood work and the team of doctors meeting and trying to nail down what actually is wrong with her. We are still hoping and praying.
