WPT Fallsview - up to February 24, 2016
WPT Fallsview Poker Classic $5,000 Main Event is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 21 and up to February 24. Hopefully, the hidden 3% staff gratuities will be properly disclosed this year; the fees for the ($4,559 + $141 gratuities + $300 admin) ME is 8.8%.
This thread will be updated as I find out more info, but poker leagues and forum members can now start planning their satellites or vacation days. If the festival will be ten days again like 2015, then the first event will be during Valentine's Day weekend. Member PIRANHA hosted three LEGAL fee-free satellites to the 2015 $1,100 Event and there were overlay prizes given by a poker site, so LMK if you're interested. If you can't make it to any of these fee-free satellites, then I'll see you at the high-rake Bingo satellites at Fallsview starting in November.
Rant:
The poker tours and casinos should be giving earlier notice of tentative dates of recurring events to its customers for planning purposes, such as booking vacation days. When I was planning to play in WPT London in the summer, I could not get basic information from the WPT, casino or partypoker, but finally found it in a travel site. The same thing happened for WPT Fallsview as a supervisor told me it would return some time in February, but it is Main Event Travel (MET) that has the date - https://www.maineventtravel.com/tour_stops/tour_stop/207. I met the owner of MET during WPT UK last year, and it has entered into a partnership with the WPT in June with a new website, so the date is also available @ https://www.wpttravel.com/tour_stops/tour_stop/207.

Fallsview Casino Resort, Gaming
I cannot even buy a super satellite card for the players I will BAP 50% as he has to first make sure he can play on February 18, 3 pm, then have to get to Fallsview himself for the first time. I predict that unlike the previous FPC, none of the six tournaments will sell out before the starting day.
While those boycotting/avoiding Fallsview will be disappointed that there are no improvements to structures, events, TDA compliance, etc., if you ask me if it's better than the 2015 status quo, the answer is yes.
Yes to both questions.
Weird.
Another blunder I've seen somebody make already is to buy an entry too early then take physical possession of the plastic card instead of waiting until the day of the event. Unlike the WSOP and all other casinos I know, you could actually lose $5,000 just because you misplace your pre-registered card or it gets stolen. Just like there have been thieves/counterfeiters arrested during previous FPC events including the dramatic police takedown in a final table last year, I hope that Fallsview will improve its registration procedure this year to check that every player's entry card number is the same as was registered in the player's Advantage Club account so that thieves cannot use a stolen or found entry card.
Instead of just whining about Ontario casinos without even trying to do something, I'm willing to submit suggestions in writing again if people can post the wording that we should use that non-poker casino executives will understand, instead of the poker essay I tried to start writing.
