You cannot be talking about poker . . .

Someone really needs meds.... What HAS that stuff done to you?

Look darb, if you had been around here (and paid attention) from the beginning you would know that GTA is just being GTA, to know him is to love him... well maybe not love but you get the idea...
I'm sure that if Mike is being honest he would admit he brought a lot of the crap on himself and I know he is genuinely trying to mostly fit in here and I defend his right to do so.. He seems much better at dealing with the ribbing than you do.. Why is that?
As for philli well, he is "our" philli. Some of us have met him so leave him out of it..
Yes gta is being gta and thats being a troll, an asshole, and a prejudiced piece of shit. Brings nothing but negativity to the forum. Mike doesn't deserve someone like GTA jumping on his back all the time and neither does philli. Everyone has a right to feel comfortable, not just GTA.

You're too pussy to do something about it. If you did your job as a mod we could have real content on this forum

The fact that GTA has been like this since the start doesn't dispute the fact that you and him are the reason this forum wont' grow.
  • Darb, there are still lots of good poker players on here. Lot's of mid level players. Lot's of mediocre to barely ok players (me, me, me) on here. This is a small forum, and internet community.

Just out of curiosity (not being an asshole here), why do you even want to stick around here if you hate the operation/mood of this place so much? Obviously, some things could change/get better. Name one internet community where that's not the case. I'm involved in several different forums (not poker related), and they all have their shortcomings. The way you talk about it, you want an all out revolution to occur here, and personally I don't and don't think everyone else agrees.

There are a handful of posters on here who could afford to turn the sarcasm down at various points. It would be nice for new members to get a chance to get a feel for the place before getting poked at. It's the internet. It's not perfect, but I don't know a community that is.
  • and meds? no its not meds buddy. Its you banning me because you don't have the guts to say something to your peers. Instead you scapegoat me. I've told you before if I post something you dont' deem appropriate, delete it and pm me. Don't need to snap ban me. But its just the easiest way to de-escalate rather than tell your peers to lay off.

Well I don't think I've ever snap banned anyone.. I appreciate the "out"... So can you please delete all of your posts in non strat threads? Thank you very much..

vekked btp,, jules, me, reebs, windbreaker, pokertoronto, jesse and bluffer (you don't know because they won't join but many of us hang in another group), richard, talonchick, sirwatts, ryangyhall etc. None of these people contribute to poker related content anymore. And how many stop by and leave instantly. You just haven't realized it yet, but there is zero decent poker related content going on.

As for the site you know its terrible and full of bullshit, you know that people get warned before they sign up for this site. Its fully of small minded biggots because its run by one.

Think about what you are sticking up for, I am a person who sees all equal and GTA won't stop callign me racist and comp won't put a stop to it.

I know you call yourself a morally good person Bill but a good person would not stick up for this:

    http://www.pokerforum.ca/f12/really-tho-29303/

and you should call me down for being the only person who has the guts to point it out.

Ok now you have gone beyond insulting me personally... We tried... bye..
  • its just pointing out the obvious truth, you don't want to confront it so you ban me.

You're gone now, so you might not see this. There is not "zero", you yourself add significant decent poker related content, as do others. Obviously, there could be more.

I don't think at all that it's terrible and full of bullshit. I've left several non poker related forums that were terrible and full of bullshit. I wouldn't stay here if it was. There are small minded people here. There are small minded people everywhere. Get used to it. There's lots of great people here as well.

I'm not saying the place is perfect. Everything has it's faults. I don't see total revolution as the answer. I don't see overthrow of any community or society as an answer to having certain members with faults.

and you should call me down for being the only person who has the guts to point it out.
I'm not calling you down for anything. I was just asking why you'd want to stay here if you see it as such a horrible place.

It's probably better for you that you got banned Darb. This place was clearly making you far to upset to be considered healthy.
  • It's probably better for you that you got banned Darb. This place was clearly making you far to upset to be considered healthy.
This is probably the understatement of the year...

OK, I'm closing and at least temporarily moving these 2 or three threads offline for the moment as they serve no purpose. I'm going to ask Scoops and Wes to have a look and give me their input as to whether or not I'm being too hasty.
  • lol jesus christ, just leave it

I'm shitting myself right now in my lovely leather computer chair for the following reason:

I'm agreeing with Constanza on both points.

I'd just leave it Comp. Better for others to see the transgression that occurred resulting in the final decision.
  • lol how are wes and scoops gonna judge if they don't know whats going on, aren't they just gonna snap side with you anyways?
  • Fed (in response to the now closed thread):

I've posted more poker strategy, trip reports, poker results, etc. on this site than you ever will. You and Darb use this site solely as a means of garnering attention for yourselves. You started on this site as an attention-wanting troll and briefly seemed to transform into someone who wanted to learn about poker and then came up with an idea for an attention-whoring thread about "turning pro" for which the sole purpose appears to be garnering more attention for yourself. It certainly had nothing to do with being a pro or playing poker.

When you seemed serious about wanting to play live cash I offered that you add me on skype to discuss live cash games. I have nothing against you but I will certainly openly mock you when you create threads with zero content to gain attention like a 12 year old middle child who was never breast fed.

I'm not a pro. I have no need to post every live win and state how I am crushing tables left and right. I have likely played more hands of live poker over the last 30 days than you will play in the next 3 months and I haven't even played that much.

My advice from your "going pro" thread still stands. Get a job or get some more education. Play part-time. Gain some perspective. I see low to mid limit grinders at the casino every time I go...the same terrible average winning players EVERY time I am there. It's sad and depressing. Do something more meaningful with your life and play poker for fun and for some extra money. What you think is good money playing poker now will seem less good in 5 or 10 years when you have a real career. More than the money, you will have a chance to develop skills and relationships beyond internet poker which will make you a well-rounded person.
  • The reason why a lot of people don't post poker content is because they don't want to get flamed. So many people think their opinion this always the right one and forget that their is more then one way to play a hand.
  • I really respect Bill's opinion on this and since I have no other mod to bounce this off I am leaving this thread for now. I have contacted both Scoops and Wes for their input and am really wondering about having an additional "active" mod to bounce things off on occasion. Nothing I have done this morning cannot be undone so if they disagree with me it can be fixed. However I could not in good conscience allow it to continue.

Please, please keep any input constructive...

Not even close... bad read.. I am really upset at the moment, if only you knew how much I wanted darb to straighten out and become a contributing member (other than in just online strat)...
  • costanza wrote: »

Not true. Darb got banned for going ballistic and lashing out angrily at the forum in general, Comp and others specifically. That's not to say that some of his points weren't similar to those that have been stated in the past by others. Some of his points were similar to those I've made in the past and I agree with some of them.

There are different ways of doing it though. His choice wasn't productive and was very polarized and dogmatic. He left no room for disagreement.

And this is why this is an unfortunate ending. Darb did post significant and interesting things on a regular basis. I didn't always understand them completely, but that doesn't mean they weren't interesting or thought provoking.
  • I certainly do agree that "sometimes" we (and I mean that collectively) are too quick to jump on new posters that "appear" to be immature, or perhaps spammy before we are absolutely sure of their intentions. I will attempt to "police" that a little more but I just can't be here every second.

Posters who have been on here a while or who have some previous "transgressions" have to understand that it could take awhile before the razzing subsides.. Good grief, I take as much razzing as anyone, doesn't bother me in the least.. It is an internet forum after all...
  • costanza wrote: »

I have said many times I had absolutely no issue with darbs strat threads, it's the other "crap" that caused all the issues....
Is this really costanza? or darb using costanza's id... Are you still there cooking breakfast? :)

I assume that you can objectively realize what a joke your "going pro" thread was/is...you provided no info with respect to what the main content of the thread was supposed to be. So, I responded in kind with jokes and little content. Personally, I saw the whole thing as a joke. You seem capable of being a really good person but seem to get sidetracked by wanting lots of attention without actually doing anything of substance which is poker related (this is a poker forum). I admit that I likely got a bit carried away with mocking you and I apologize if that was the case.

I have had darb blocked for a month or so and don't read any of his misguided threads. I make no apologies for pointing out that he is racist. He really detracts from my experience on the forum and I found that blocking him and not reading his desperate pleas for attention makes the forum more enjoyable.

I wish that you would be yourself a bit more. It seems that you are a nice guy but are trying quite a bit to align yourself with and defend darb. Perhaps you respect him as a poker player, but it comes across as you being a lap dog for him.

If you, or anyone, on this forum wants advice or help playing live poker I am more than willing to give free advice, etc.

I'll be in Vancouver this month and would gladly take you for dinner and possibly go play some poker if I have free time. I have no ill feelings towards you at all. This is an online forum and perhaps the intent of some of my posts have been misconstrued by you. I am fairly sarcastic at times and that may not come across at times on here.
