Think the poker is already gone... No matter, Ribs are still great...

I can confirm that the poker room is gone. They still have the beer, and the steaks though, which is really all that matters.

  • Just got an email from MGM

Join us for Wednesday Night Mixed Game Madness: $4-$8 Mixed and $9-$18 Mixed games with $3 rake and $2 per hour comps.

    Tues night $120 HORSE
    http://www.mgmgrand.com/pdf/poker-horse-tournament.pdf
  • I've heard from a number of bloggers and others that the Tuesday night HORSE tournament at MGM is a tough one. Just that far more players than expected were proficient in all the games. Who knows how accurate that is on any given night.

Apparently the HORSE tourney at Orleans is much softer as a rule. I think they offer two per week, one of which is Friday evenings.

  • Going to ask a question here, How do you guys handle all this flying and going through airport stress going to Vegas all the time?:)

That's about the main thing I did not like about my recent trip, saying that starting to receive hotel comps and free play offers and yes I want to go back soon.:p

( Soon being probably April, but the prices are even higher the next few months :( )

No stress at all really... Quite relaxing. As for pricing, cheapest times in Vegas are now until mid Dec, then again Feb/Mar.. Any weekend is higher and certain events, superbowl, etc., but avoid those and it's pretty reasonable and stable.. Hint: fly out of Buffalo or Detroit mid week and save lots...
  • If there's enough folks is anyone interested in getting a forum low limit mix game going? I've spoken with Chris Coffin, the poker room manager at the Mirage a few times and he's indicated a willingness to spread whatever if the interest is there. Even just a mix of O8 and Hold em, perhaps 3/6 with a half kill or something would be fun and interesting.

I'm dead money in O8 by the way, I just think it's fun.

If there's interest we could choose a time, and I could see about getting it arranged ahead of time.

Also, I don't know if you guys are still in town but a bunch of guys from all vegas poker put on a mix game Sunday nights at the Imperial Palace. Pretty crazy mix of games including badugi, badacey, baducey and a bunch of other games that take 15 minutes a hand to play. I've never played it but folks who have seem to like it.
  • Mixed game plans include MGM Wed night and IP on Sun night.
  • If anybody has a last minute change of heart and wants to come along.

$9 Fare club price. If not a member, it will cost an extra $59.95.

I see what you mean about cheaper out of Buffalo, those are the prices I'm talking about!:o

Couple of problems, no direct flights (that I have seen yet) and drive is a lil too far to Buffalo more so when you get back as you are wore out so have to add couple of nights hotel and such as well to the cost.

But I only was just looking on expedia, will keep searching out of Buffalo and keep it mind as a possible option.

Hint #2: Try matrix to find flights, best there is.. Also Southwest has direct flights out of Buffalo..

Thanks, was just looking some more and out of Detroit, farther away and well it's Detroit;) but same with buffalo just get a hotel the day before we leave and the day we come back for some rest and then you have a road trip too. :)

The airport is actually in Romulus , (yes....haha) Michigan. The hotels are meh, but still very easy to grab a shuttle to the airport. SpirtAir also flies direct to LV from Detroit.
  • Meh get a free night from Casino Windsor and DTW is 20 min door to door from CW.

Cool link but it doesn't find the lowest fares.

This sucks. The show has changed to Nathan Burton Comedy Magic - we have already seen this show.
  • OMG. Have to work this in somehow.

    P.J. Clarke’s
  • If anyone collects chips from different casino's I have a bunch from local Vancouver rooms, as well as a couple from California that are extras.

I'm happy to throw them in my bag if anyone wants any.

I used to really only want chips from places I'd visited personally, but more and more I just find them neat to have.
  • I'm good. I try to stick to casino's I've played at personally. I would haul some back if str82ace wants them.
  • Rough plan. * items are pretty much set in stone.

I will be interested in your reviews for the Caesars buffet and Ramsay Steak... The Caesar's buffet has been remodeled and I think it is getting decent reviews; it used to suck.

We are going to Ramsay's during our Xmas break trip, so curious what you think.
  • Yep definitely looking forward to both. Caesars is now the #1 rated buffet in Vegas.
