Just a heads up that Sucks-calibur's dealer machines are getting fired soon! Excalibur has contacted the human dealers they fired last fall and offered them their old jobs back, with a start date of around July 15. Excalibur was one of my favourite places to play a cash game during last year's WSOP, so I look forward to finally playing there again after this year's WSOP.
Yep, that was all the talk there when I was there on Friday...
I just busted out of the GN's seniors just before 2nd break. Got crippled when my AK lost allin preflop to pocket 7's.. Gogie still in.

I out-lasted about half the field. Got busted when my short-stacked pocket 7's got it all in with the big stack's KQos. River J gave the villain broadway - bye bye Gogie. I really enjoyed the tourny and found the field to be vastly different from the "internet-player" dominated Venetian DS that I played on Friday (which I managed to finish about 150th out of around 550 runners, getting busted when, get this, my pocket pair loses out to the villain's AK when he rivers broadway!).
Off to Binion's this afternoon to play there with Gogie Jr. and Comp and then onwards and upwards to the show tomorrow!
Busted 65th out of 301 just before dinner break, couldn't get anything going, never higher than 3 times starting stack... Seemed pretty fast as we lost 90 before 1st break 1 1/2 hr in. Going back to the Rio now to see whats going on... Maybe play a satellite....
Ok, just got back from the RIO where I registered for todays Seniors. I'm in the Brasilia room, Table 221, seat 8, my favorite seat. I'm due for a run, haven't cashed in days... Hopefully it's not $1K down the drain but gotta get lucky early with only 3K starting chips. Saw Lederer and Greenstein playing the PLO, down to 35 players.
WSOP satellites look to be pretty good from a rake perspective. The $125 is 10.4%, the $175 is 7.4%, the $225 is 5.8%, the $275 is 4.7% and the $325 is 4%

I'll probably end up grinding out a bunch of the 225, 275 and 325 while I'm there during the day...and maybe play a mega or something to the ME

Don't the blinds start at 25/25 for an m of 60, with 60 minute levels? Geez, you old people are so damn impatient...
Event No. 43 now underway.
Posted: Mon, Jun 22, 09, 5:00 AM
Event No. 43 ($1,000 seniors no-limit hold’em world championship) Players will begin with 3,000 in tournament chips and blinds will begin at 25-25. Levels will be 60-minutes long and there will be a 20-minute break after every two levels. There will be a 90-minute dinner break after level 6 on day 1.
Jeff calls clock.
Under the gun Jeff XXXXXX raises to 250 and the button calls. They see a flop of A J 3 all spades and Jeff checks, the button bets 350 and Jeff check raises ALLIN. The button clasps his chest and falls forward onto the table, paramedics rush over to check on the button while Jeff calls clock and the players hand is eventually called dead. Jeff rakes the pot.
Can anybody in the Rio satellite room mind confirming the blind schedule:
25/25, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 150/300, 200/400, 300/600, 400/800, 600/1200 (Level 9), 800/1600?
Previous years' satellites had Level 9 double to 800/1600 so I want to make sure it is now 600/1200. I emailed the WSOP this and a couple of other questions because it is not available on its website and the reply I got was to go to the website!
The email also states,
"If you are a winner of the Mega Satellite tournament I am pleased to say that you will win WSOP buy in chips. Which means that you will be able to transfers your winnings over to the WSOP to be able to buy into an event."
I want to confirm if this means that you can now sell your $10K Mega Satellite chips to anybody without any withholding. I hadn't planned to bring enough bankroll to also play the Mega Satellites because the winners were not allowed to assign their entry.

There is a 600/1200 as posted. I have the sheeets right in front of me..
OK, on to day 2, grinding the shortstack, finished level 10 with 9.3K, blinds will be 500/1k with 100 ante when we come back. 402 left.
Almost lost it on last hand of the night, table is verrrrrry tight, QJ suited in the cutoff, I min raise to 1600, button goes all in and has me covered, I have 9.3K left. I fold and show, he shows AA, phew.....
This last couple of hours was very tight and I was pushing pretty well once per orbit. I always showed my big hands and never the times when I shoved with suited connectors, things like 8,10 suited. I had a good image although I think some suspected. I kept saying I need courtesy double up, don't think Americans know that term. They kept calling me the courtesy canuck...
We bagged and signed, to return for 2PM Pacific time tomorrow. That's 5 pm EST for most of you....
One interesting hand at the 300/600/75 level. I'm in the BB with A,4 off, I have about 7K
Mid position limps, SB completes, I check. Flop A,7,4m 2 spades. I have no spade.. Checked around. Turn 8 spades. SB bets 600, I re-raise allin, mid position limper thinks and calls. wft, big spade? Nope turns over pocket K's no spade... Dead to 2 outs. I more than double up and he tilts off in two more hands... Crazy play..

Looks like there are two other shorter stacks at your table and five players under 12,000. So there should be lots of fireworks early on. If John Solis is in the BB the first hand, I would expect a push either the first or second hand for sure. Lot of work ahead of you :

Steven Cathcart - 34400
Chuck Goldstein - 11500
John Solis - 5900

George Banziger - 27500

I was really card dead early, in the first 2 levels I won exactly one hand when my AQ caugt a flop of QQx, made maybe 400
At this last level (100/200/25) I went on a bit of a run and am now at about 8.7K (avg maybe 5.5K). There are about 1220 left.
