You finished the tournament in 1st place.
You qualified to play in Tournament #21021395 and are automatically registered for it.

funny thing is, i played 4 of these.

Should have seen the donky calls that put me out of the first 3.

K7 :ad to beat my preflop all in with JJ, A9o to beat my preflop All in with KK and when i go all in with A10 :ad i get called with KQ :ad. flop is A K 4...................turn is a KING!!!!!

i was 10 out of the seat in each of them at least.

I know it isnt a money, YET. But i'm very pleased with my play.

  • Nice win Johnny, to bad you didn't make it....

    Lamb_of_John (Cambridge) Finished 6267th

I'll assume it was a bad beat...

Congratulations!Thank you for participating.

thought id try the heads up tournament not bad for a first try :)
  • well shannon, heres the hand.  not a bad beat at all, just a miss.  i felt i had my money in at the best time too.  i dunno if the guy SHOULD have called, but i guess i cant fault him.

    blinds 100/200

I had about 3500 and there were 2 other in the pot.  i was in the SB and 2 from the button limps.  the button bumps it to 600 and i raise to 1200.  limper calls my raise and so does the button.

    I am holding the A :h: Q :h: btw.

    flop comes K :h: 4 :c: 10 :h:

check form both players and i shove it all in!

first limper folds and button instantly calls.  He has AK

turn is a Q so now i have any J, and one of the 2 Q's, or any heart.

the Button doesnt have a heart so i'm figuring i have 18 outs by this point, but the river is a brick.

original limper says "OH NO, I HAD AJ!!!!"

i'm also gambling early since i want a bit of a stack to withstand my card-dead-dom which is inevitable in any tournament i play where i'm playing SUPER tight.

so, no world series for me this year, but my TIGH TIGHT hold'em game is getting better.  hoping for next year at least

    Johnny
  • i know im pretty baked right now, but your post makes no sense to me, i have no idea what is going on in the hand
  • post edited and now you shoudl eb able to read it. i had :ah where i eant to have a :ah

    Johnny
  • I would have jammed or folded pre-flop, raising to 1200 is pretty weak. As played flop is fine.

  • Yo teach, congrats on the great result! Looks like excellent deal-making skills, too...
  • congrats teach, how the hell are you second in chips then cut a deal to get first money? dude who was in 1st must have had to go or something. I can't imagine ever agreeing to that deal while chip leader even by a small margin. I think I'd try and blind out if I had to go and hope 3rd stack busts.
  • Couldnt they have made the deal when he was chip leader, and then after the all in fest he finished 2nd?
  • Soup - you are correct - I was a massive chip leader at time of deal, but only had to give up 240 to guarantee 1st place money. It was a sweet deal.
  • that make's sense, I didn't look at it that way. my bad. congrats anyways.
  • A mini-Ding for me this evening...

    =============

The tournament is a $2.20 turbo triple shootout (6 max tables) with the final two at the final table winning the entries. I figured my odds of winning couldn't be worse that 1 in 107 you need to break even and I got it on my second try. Yay!! Now to figure out what to spend my $T on. :)
  • Congrats Rob!
  • Why wouldn't you just play in the tourny?
  • Had to post this here because there is no other place for a brag post. Sometimes it is handy to play on a site (Sun Poker) where there is no limit heads up (just like live poker)

  • VNH, too bad you guys weren't playing for a Bad Beat Jackpot, that coulda made you some nice extra cash.
  • OK, just had my biggest MTT cash online....  Remember guys I have only played micro limits online up to now so don't laugh.. :D  Full Contact Poker MTT $20. + 2, won buyin through $3. single table..  200 players in MTT, finished 4th for $360...  woohoo... 1st payed $1200. tho, and I coulda won it if I had won a race at the end.   :'(
Look out SirWatts I'm almost ready to join you in the big time......  lol
  • I'll see you at the FT of a WCOOP event! Congrats.
  • Congrats Jeff!!!!
  • woo hoo!!! my first post in this thread :D

I won 2 touneys over the last couple of days for my biggest take to date in online poker.

My first win came in a $2 rebuy tourney on Bugsys, bought in $8 total and ended up taking it down for $170. Then last night I played in a $10 rebuy on Bugsys did the add-on right away and the add-on after the first break for a total buy-in of $30 and took 1st for $404. That brought my total win for the last 2 days to $574, not quite Sir Watts status but sweet just the same :D

Speaking of the Sir I owe him and pkr(?) some thanks. There was a post some time ago where they had offered a strategy for playing in MTT's, I believe it was directed at the Stars sunday $215 event, I used that and it was very effective getting me to the final table. That was a great post guys, thanx!!!

    Garry
  • GJ on the wins
  • Well done boys!
  • Congrats garryc.

positive posts like that might actually save this forum
  • VNH, too bad you guys weren't playing for a Bad Beat Jackpot, that coulda made you some nice extra cash.

most bad beat jackpots require both of the hole cards to be used, both of the players only used one hole card in this case.
  • Yeah that's what I found out to my disappointment.
  • This is my first post in this thread but 2nd time I have gone to round 3
