I'll let some other folks chime in, but have to say one more thing: I don't think that line is as clear cut as you may think. For one, if you mean "too far right" in terms of people supporting actual racism / etc... I don't think there's actually a market for that in Canada (or the US for that matter) - I have certainly never met them if so. Meanwhile, I think if you look at history, the left going too far can be much worse as it brings us identity politics and government overreach.
I will have to pick on Mark as an example of the identity politics... here is someone who bases his entire world view on the idea of grouping people by their race, sex, and gender, and can't help but apply that lens to every single issue. If you are black you must need our help. If you are white you must be privileged. That sexual preference is anyone's business but their own. On more than one occasion Mark has said my opinion is less relevant because I am a straight white cis (*) man. Seems harmless in small doses - but it's really just new racism/sexism/etc - and even if he means well, history shows that this line of thinking only breeds tribalism. People get further apart, not closer together, because of these ideas - and when that is applied at scale it ruins society. "Everyone treated equal, full stop, so stop fucking with it, because you are making it worse."

On the government overreach side, its things like speech censorship (someone deciding what I can't say / must say) and over-regulation (someone deciding what I can't do / must do). Again, these are society crushing ideas in the long term, and again, just one inch at a time. In the UK right now there are people are being arrested for Facebook posts - and I'm not talking about people making threats/etc - this was for political opinions aka "unacceptable views."
So that's the left going to far. Way back in the thread I asked everyone to be charitable with the other side - and I try to to the same: the left has good intentions with this stuff. They are not acting out some evil plan... it's just that the only way to do this stuff is through total control, and even if that would ever work (it wont) - they are too incompetent anyway.
