Common ground here. I'll add a note that it is a good example of how the left projects "intention" onto people's actions, to fit their narrative. (He did THIS, so it means THIS. A common theme.)
But elsewhere you compare the Orange Felon's policies with the 'last 10 years under the Liberals' which is completely bonkers and disingenuous. You may not like Liberal policies, and I agree that productivity is a big issue that we need to address after this current election.
I honestly don't see why you would connect those two ideas. I don't see where I was disingenuous, or where I have even compared them. That discussion started with trigs listing 20 executive orders that he called horrible. We had some good faith discussion and I commented about how from my perspective those were actually great changes. We never reached consensus, as they are very controversial topics, but I still argue that they were necessary. Not sure what this has to do with the Liberal track record.
But the Liberals got us through a pandemic with responsible policies that ensured we had enough vaccines for everyone. And Trudeau was in front of the cameras every day for several months to talk with Canadians and take questions.
This is laughable, I'm sorry. Sure... if you just swallowed everything they put out and were in a nice comfy position to wait things out... wow what a great response to Covid. Another perspective: this was an embodiment of "never let a crisis go to waste." That response was led by politicians and media, NOT doctors. It was 100% used to increase government control, so effectively that people cheered for more overreach. Lockdowns caused measurably worse outcomes. The response caused economic destruction. Small businesses failed, and quietly disappeared forever - while big businesses absorbed that volume. Not to mention the billions in EI fraud that has not been recovered (while I had to continue going to work every day, I might add). Along the way, they used censorship - instead of debate - to remove ANY speech that didn't fit their narrative, deeming it harmful. Much of what they deemed "misinformation" later turned out to be true. Most importantly, they actively dehumanized - and removed people from society - who disagreed with the effectiveness or safety of the shots. This radicalized people enough to drive trucks to Ottawa... where the government then decided to freeze their bank accounts. Nevermind that this was ruled unconstitutional by our own courts... it is pure totalitarianism either way. Some of you innocently thought you were doing the right thing. Some of you took joy in it. Mark it down: The Covid response is probably what sent half us us "right wing nuts" down this path.

Do you really want to talk about the success of these plans? Because we as taxpayers paid heavily for them and neither of them are actually working. As someone with a newborn... I can tell you there is no cheap day-care available. It's another expensive headline that they can point to. High cost, low ROI - that's the Liberal way.

Again, you are falling for the propaganda. Visitors are held to a higher standard, and the USA can revoke that invitation to visit at any time. If I show up to your poker game and started being an asshole, I would expect to be asked to leave... don't need to be convicted of a crime for that.

Put all arguments about corruption in Ukraine aside, and the fact that this war could have ended long ago but they NEEDED it to continue... the argument here is simply that broke countries, who are trillions in debt, should not be sending hundreds of Billions of dollars to other countries, while their own citizens are suffering at home. What about Elon's DOGE hackers? To suggest this is 'legitimate' is to ignore reality. The 20 - 40 whizkids have no idea what anyone in the government does. They've admitted to several mistakes, many of their actions are illegal and the whole process ignores the fact that all government departments actually have regular review processes which DOGE ignores. And of course, any money they do save will just go towards funding the huge tax cut for the rich which is due to expire soon.

I'm 100% positive that if you went to the USA you would be just fine.
It is a disaster and trying to rationalize any of it just makes you look bad.
