I believe elements of this post may be directed towards me.
So let us dissect.
1. If you could please show, citing examples, where I desperately cling to the illegality of poker clubs.
If you can do so convincingly I will respond to your accusation.
OK Professor, I'll start off by saying that if you are suggesting my conversation double spaced with a title page and footnotes - you are bogging down the topic needlessly. I'm not specifically centered on your responses, simply discussing my take on the thrust of this debate.
If it is your intention that I humbly and formally beg Your Grace's audience with a series of lovely citations of your blessed word, I'll beg mercy on this mental pauper, as my only response is- go pound salt- (OK, there ARE several other response options, but thats the nicest)
Is it possible Sir-That the points I made are general; but still valid and perhaps worth discussing? In lieu of actually responding to anything I said, you seem to have launched a defense...does this mean you have nothing to contribute?
I trust that this has been submitted in the proper format for your valued consideration at this time.
Long Live TNorth!

OK, I think we're even. Let me know if you still feel superior, I can call you ...I dunno.... a jerk-wad, or a conservative...maybe a member N'Sync..whatever it takes to get your ego in check.
In all seriousness, I was not attacking you specifically in my first post, simply taking a different position. The college bit was intended to be tongue in cheek, since I personally would rather poker clubs not be legalized. (as I mentioned) I don't doubt your intelligence and look forward to reading your responses. Lastly a question; Are you then calling for a selective amount of reason free from passion? Who decides the balance?
Forgive me for beating a dead horse, its all new to me and I'm sincerely interested.

I think Tom's theory is he paid for that education so he's gonna damn well use whether we like it or not......
I believe this has been hashed to death and I"m not going down that road again.
I would agree that this has been "hashed to death" - You can imagine my surprise to see this post at the top this morning.
Not that I am opposed to the occasional debate

If Metro was feeling superior... it's a first considering his poker game...
