In order to secure your seat at the Degree Poker Championship, you must correctly answer the enclosed skill-testing question, and sign the Declaration and Release form.
I just sent in my forms (a whole 6 hours before the deadline). It took some talking to my boss to get the time off I am also headding down from K-W and would be willing to carpool.
Has anyone decided on a strategy yet?
Just a reminder: Day 1 start with $2 000 in chips and blind structure is as follows (each level = 30 mins)
I think that this is very aggressive. By the time you bet past the first break, once around the table would cost about 1/4 of your initial stack if you fold 10 hands in a row.
Is the initial strategy to push early and try to steal a lot of pots? Or to just hold tight and wait until you hit a big one and let the chips come to you? I think once you get to day 2 you can "play poker", but I haven't decided how to play day 1 yet. Thoughts?
Well there is still 1 more draw to go...... but I havent got the invite either? Will be in Vegas here right away then coming back for the CPT 1K event in Calgary and was hoping to hit this one at RiverRock but will have to hold my breath until the June 1st drawing I guess.....good luck to you all and although I am new to this forum(never bothered with any forum actually) I look forward to seeing you there.
Also 1B. You think they make us get there 2 hours ahead of time so that the casino can make some money on blackjack? Anyone else from KW in 1B and looking to carpool?
I'm still not in but tempted to go down and check it out. What would I do if I can't play poker? I guess I'd have to learn blackjack.
East or west? For the western one at River Rock, I think they plan to use a bunch of temporary tables for the tournament, enough so that cash games should still be running. Wouldn't shock me if east was going the same route, to ensure the 230 people who don't make the second round can still get in a game and blow off some chips.

Round 1C - 5pm
A friend of mine is in Round 1A - 8am
I was gonna get a ride with him but ehhhh - thats a long wait for me to be in a casino with time on my hands.
fun times.
Hey were in the same round. 6 am, fun fun.
I'd offer to carpool with you but I am going down Sunday to see family. Good Luck.
Finish in the top twenty and move to the next round. Chip count when you finish does not matter. Next round you all start with 10K in chips.
GL all
If you go on a run, know when to shut it down to live to see day 2!!
Like Dead said, top 20 - nothing else matters day 1.
GL!
