4 for 4 for me! i've got germany and argentina in the finals with germany winning.
  • I said that before the tourney started, too. Germany is FINALLY starting to look like the well oiled machine they usually are in these things, while Argentina still looks kind of "meh". Pulling hard for the Oranje to make it an all-Euro final this week.

well, that was the game i was most worried about. i think germany will be able to beat netherlands or argentina.
  • I should have placed a wager on this when I posted it originally.

Argentina vs Germany final. Argentina for the win.
  • Relax, Kreskin, you weren't exactly the only one to go that route. And Germany SMASHES the Argies . . .

Brazil takes the Saturday game to salvage some pride.
  • Did not see that coming at all . . . I think TFC could beat this Brazil team . . . SHOCKING collapse.

i don't think brazil played well the whole tournament. their first round bracket was pretty easy. netherlands deserved 3rd place.
  • Agreed, but I also expected that van Gaal would rest his starters given the comments he and his players were making about the consolation prize nature of the third place match. I will admit to having a sentimental spot for watching Dirk Kuyt go out a winner on the World Cup stage. He has been the ultimate team player of de Oranje over the last several years. I mean, the guy started his career as a prolific goal scoring forward, and ends up playing as both a left wing-back, and right full-back this World Cup. Going to be a great coach one day, if he chooses to go that route.
  • I'm expecting Argentina to win today. Willing to bet up to $100 for a sweat. Reply before game time if interested. Can pay emt or ps.

    Good luck sir.
  • Thanks for the sweat Prophet. It was a good game. Do you prefer emt or p's. Let me know.
  • PPV . . . don't you remember the definition of soccer? Soccer is a game that takes 90 minutes to play (120 in this instance) at the end of which the Germans win.
  • Just happy it ended with a real goal rather than go to penalty kicks. Germany is going to be a good team for a while. Could possibly win the next Euro and World Cup again.

Overall I thought it was the best World Cup I've seen since I started watching the tournament in 1982. Lots of attacking and goals makes for way better games than sitting back and defending the whole time. I'm sure Spain and Italy being gone early had something to do with it.
  • even with germany winning i think i still lost my pool by 3 points :(

I was wrong. Squeezed out a two point win for $100!
  • Germany and France will BOTH be solid picks for the Euro in 2 years. Belgium will be a decent dark horse pick, while Netherlands will likely tail off a little but will probably still be a semi-finalist. Spain and Portugal will still be rebuilding, and who knows about Italy.

England could rebound if some of the kids continue to improve, but anything more than quarter-finals will be a miracle.
  • Soccer has to be the most tilting game ever

They need to start giving yellows for diving

The bullshit acting and wasted time puts me on rage tilt
