  • OK boys so things are underway here and although I don't expect this condition to continue, at least for now the registration figures project an overlay on the $1M Guarantee! There are 172 players registered at the moment and the WPT event is in Level 2. Late reg is open for a total of 6 levels each Day 1.

In Ontario news, Mike Leah is here already trying to run it up. I'm pretty sure Geoffrey Robert McNeely is from Ontario too, no? Not a huge name but a player who has done extremely well here. Xuan Liu is playing now too... Check out the blog in a few minutes for a GREAT photograph we took of her.

BTW 2014 Playground Poker Spring Classic for updates.
  • So.... That bad beat jacket hit eh..
  • So guys we're getting close to 300 entries today but based on today and Day 1a and pre-sales for tomorrow we're still projecting to an overlay in the Main Event. There will be some great value for anyone who can get here to register tomorrow by 4pm when late reg closes.
  • Got there! 552 entries today adding up to 1079 total. Prize pool and payouts will be published soon on 2014 Playground Poker Spring Classic
  • Nice work, figured 1c would be heaviest with re-entries and part time players who work M-F.
  • Bubble time! I have a horse so I informed him of bubble dynamics.

If he didn't already know I question whether you made a good investment....
  • Just got back home from mtl had a couple deepish runs. 15th in the 550$ for 1475$ then 60th in the 1100$ for 3350$. Had a really good time can't wait til Canada cup in may.
  • Just won my ticket to the main on May! super excited to go back to playground after a while!
  • Chateauguay local Jason Comtois won the $178,114 championship prize. The first runner-up was born in the Philippines and currently lives in Mississauga.

One of the final six is a Fallsview reg. After I got sick of the WPT Fallsview TD, I sold all my remaining entries, including my last $1,050 voucher to the reg, and he won the most satellite seats. He is the most senior of the players and also cashed at Fallsview, so he is now two-for-two in WPT Main Events.

Is the dude in the middle a dealer at a local underground club? he looks very familiar?
  • I like to reduce my volatility while preserving my Sharpe Ratio by swapping action. Both players benefit even if one player is stronger than the other. It worked out as he got the cards & outlasted most of the pros including Mike Leah, Antonio Esfandiari, Mike Sexton, Gavin Smith and Xuan Liu. We will probably continue to travel together to poker events & have other mutually beneficial partnerships, so he will be one of the players I plan to swap with at the $2 million-guaranteed event next month. :cool2:

Yes...and one of the tightest cash game players i've played with. Served him well...although I dont like the flat when he had AA's and the other dude had QQ's. He did get one street of value from the other player but could have doubled up here if he put in a 5 bet. The King on the flop slowed the QQ's down a lot. Great performance though.

Underground dealer, player and sports bet guy. J.P. Has been around for years.
  • By the way, your favourite Fallsview girl was there all week. She kept being asked if she was a Royal Flush Girl!

I saw this same phenomena during the 2008 WPT Fallsview when I first started taking shots at cash games, but the guys in the poker room couldn't stop talking about a girl that's in another table. I eventually wonder WTF they keep drooling about so I walk over to the higher stakes table, and I go, "Oh, hi Xuan." I call it "The Xuan Liu" effect whenever a pretty girl changes the dynamics in a sausage-filled poker room.

I was in Brantford last month when I noticed several Fallsview male regs for the first time. I heard the same buzz again about "the girl next table" so of course it was my duty to take a look. It was the same Fallsview girl & several Fallsview regs came with her. "Oh, hi ...."

I could no longer see that nice pic on my Viber app. I asked Siri to "Open Settings for Viber" and it said sorry, I can't change settings for a vibrator! :-[ I thought my kid replaced the pic with all her One Direction pics, :arghh: but I eventually found it in iPhotos. My friends love showing their photos beside Xuan, but why do ALL these photos look so great?! ^-^

As always, but note that it will sell out early. At the last tourney when I made final table, there were about ten players who traveled all the way from Sudbury and I asked if there was something else going on besides the Rama tourney and they said no!

I have uploaded the fun >:D WPT CSC photos to Facebook, but I'll show them to you & anybody else I see at the casinos, including "The Next Xuan."
