Have fun. I haven't found any non-stop package that doesn't cost an arm & a leg. I hate the misleading travel sites that list a vacation for < $300, :bs: but when you're about to pot commit and pay with a credit card, it's over $3,000!
Now my daughter just wants to stay home and play One Direction music videos non-stop for the entire March Break. :arghh: Now that's a bad beat!

I will, and thanks.
You have to book early for March Break or you'll definitely get hosed. For example, I booked at the beginning of Jan for $388 return and to get a seat on that flight now is about $600 one way. Hotels are almost as bad. :bs:
Your daughter can hang out with mine - she's doing the same thing. :-\
Well, it's been a whirlwind, but I did manage to avoid the blizzard, thanks to my friends at Southwest.
On Tuesday at 2:30pm I get an email from SW saying my Wednesday morning flight is cancelled due to the blizzard, with a few clicks I discover that my only options are Tuesday at 6:30pm, or Friday morning. Son of a..
After a quick call to my wife to reorganize our day (as I was in the midst of making dinner and was supposed to pick up my daughter in Mississauga at 4pm), within 5 minutes I was booked on the Tuesday flight (at no extra charge), and by 3:00, was on the road to Buffalo.
With clear roads and negligible traffic, I was at the airport by 5. Everybody else on the bus from the parking lot to the terminal were in the same boat, so I figured the airport would be a zoo. The terminal was a ghost town. Walked right thru security and was at the gate by 5:30. By then, they were announcing the flight was oversold, and people were being booked on flight out of cleveland, while others were taking flights to anywhere that would get them connecting flights out of places like Baltimore and LA.
At the gate I realize, Crap! I don't have a hotel room! I had no cell phone reception in the terminal, but on the plane I got reception before takeoff. I called TI and got a sweet deal for the night - $50! Woohoo!

I'm not sure I would consider Southwest my friend for sending only an email & leaving me to my own devices. When our Buffalo flight to Las Vegas was also cancelled, the airline phoned me personally and arranged to have an alternate flight with a different airline out of TORONTO, which was much more convenient. It worked out great but I was delayed at the airport, thanks to my friends at Homeland Security....
And there's the grey cloud to go with my silver lining.:o
Anyhoo, the degen trip started out pretty rough. For Tuesday night I just played the nightly $65 $1K guarantee at TI since I got in so late, with no notable hands and was out in 10th place of 22 runners. The cash game there sucked as usual. Almost all local nits grinding out the rakeback and comps. So I popped over to Venetian for a couple of hours and it was pretty dead also, except for one table where security had to escort out a couple of dudes. So I went to bed.
Wednesday's session I decided to play the Bellagio since it was close by, had a wide range of games, and I'd never played there before. It was a relatively uneventful session for the most part. Lived up to my screen name for first few hours, and the few playable hands I had completely missed the flop or the flop was 3-bet, so there was a lot of folding. Eventually got stacked with top-top by a cannon drunk dude who called a $225 all-in on the flop with bottom pair, 6 kicker, and hit 2 pair on the river. Cue the circus music. He did that to 2 other guys afterwards before he spilled his drink all over the table and decided to leave before he could give back the $1500 he had racked up in less than an hour.
I managed 40 hours of poker at the Venetian over the 3 days and pretty much broke even. Each day was the same, bought in for 300 then got some bad beats and got under 50 only to fight back to evenish. Crazy. But fun.
Poker-wise, the rest of my trip was pretty much the same. Get it in good, have 3-4 callers, and get cracked. Things like KK v 66, AI on a Q74 flop, with a 6 on the river, etc.
The most painful spot was playing 1/$3 at the Aria when I flopped the nut straight on a QJ8dd board and 3 people go AI before it's my turn to act. Action broke down as follows:
UTG makes it $20 PF - he's older and super tight and surely has a big pair. UTG +1 calls, plus one other caller from MP. I call from the button with 10h9h.
Flop is QJ8dd. UTG insta-shoves for $120, UTG+1 re-shoves for $150, and I'm happy until MP caller re-re-shoves for $550. Now I know I have to dodge a whack of redraw outs. I took a second and actually thought about folding, but then quickly called.
UTG shows KK, UTG+1 shows AQ (wtf?), and MP shows K6dd (really WTF?). So I'm in better shape than I thought with no 2-pair or set, but still feel sick.
Turn is the As. Gulp! River is the 4d, and the dealer pushes the $1500 pot to the moron with Kd6d, who promptly racks up and leaves while I puke.
I'm left with $50 which I chip up to $300 over the next couple of hours, and call it a night.
On the first day when I put in 16 hours I did get a straight flush and later on my first live royal flush. Too bad I was knocked down so low so early by a bad beat on the river. I was under $50 3 times that first day and crawled back to be down only $40.
Unfortunately for me a royal gets paid nothing extra at the Venetian.
In cash games, a lot of players don't want to show their hands, wanting to muck them if the opponent is willing to first show the winning hand.
In tournaments, a lot of dealers & players forget that ALL hands in an all-in must be turned over.
I prefer not showing also. That way I can have hope until the very end. But I show immediately if I have a monster and I think I'm way ahead. That way nobody can accuse me of a slowroll.

tapatalk puts this here to annoy YOU
BTW what the hell is with people in Vegas not turning over thier hands when someone is all in? Just flip'em bitches.
In tournaments, a lot of dealers & players forget that ALL hands in an all-in must be turned over.
What BF said - you don't need to in a cash game.
