  • What's wrong with CC, except for it closing the poker room?! :bs: Do the parents have to bring a poker chip set if we want to play poker after the kids go to bed??

If CC is good enough for Rihanna, why not my kid?

What's wrong with the Circus Circus Resort that was just renovated in 2013? Isn't it better than the old Imperial Palace we stayed in?

You also should never have stayed at Imperial Palace.
  • You also should never have stayed at Imperial Palace.

To each there own....when travelling solo, IP is perfect.....cheap and location location location.....although, I'm not even that cheap anymore
  • I think you're talking about GameWorks, which was conceived by Steven Spielberg. I was looking for it, but it has closed down at Showcase Mall and will reopen south at Town Square.

Can't remember the name, thing it's Speilberg for some reason, but it's between MGM and the M&M store. We did the CSI experience at MGM then hiked. Lots of really cool sit in with motion type games, daughters enjoyed as much as son.

The one time I booked a room there, I stayed one night and moved to Bally's. Just a bit more expensive for the same location and much better quality imo.
  • For fairly cheap the newer rooms at flamingo with strip view are the best by far
  • I wouldn't let GTA stay at cc.

Knew the ole bear trap was close...yup that's it, we loved it, pod racers and all. You been?

Reading your Circuis Circuis post, I also now remember we've done Adventure dome, though found it to much like West Edmonton Mall. Liked Exalibers midway more. Then of course there is the wax museum and aquarium at Mandalay Bay...all this to argue in favour that you can keep kids entertained in Vegas.

As for the porn on the corners, if it wasn't for those billboard trucks my son may have never learned the search term "strip clab" for his iPad as hit puberty, which would have could have forced him to search for dirty magazines around the house like we did at his age, though since I also own an iPad, he would never find...

    Viva Las Vegas!
  • Ya the Aquarium at Mandalay is decent.

You should ask about the pools. I was there many years ago and most of the outdoor stuff was closed in the winter months. Things may have changed. Global warming and all. Are the glaciers gone?

tapatalk puts this here to annoy YOU

lol when i went in october it was super hot and people everywhere outside, we left canada the day before halloween, the 30th.

Then literally like, november 4rd, it started to get really cold and everything started shutting down, pools and everything. it was weird looking out my window at the V and seeing it packed with people sunbathing/swimming then next day a complete ghost town.

    I am. :D

IP is perfect for a degen trip where you're only in the room 4 or 5 hrs a day. I stayed there for 5 days two years ago at an average of $35 a night and it did the job. It meets the 4 C's - cheap, clean, cwiet, and central.

I would have stayed again this time but it's over a hundo a night right now. I got a lower price and, hence, much better value at TI, which is crazy.

TI also allows you to decline any of the services associated with resort fee and not pay it - so definitely make that request at the front desk when you're there so you save another $25~ a day.

Way ahead of you bro. Did that last year also. I also scored 2 free lunch/dinner buffets, which I think run for $35 a pop.

Just making sure ;) Not everyone knows about that

With Mexico ruled out, I'm now considering Las Vegas for March Break with my kid. Since it will probably be only the two of us, there will be zero live poker for me. :-\ I will only be able to rail Card Dead from the window. :'(

Does anybody know if one can play PokerStars/PartyPoker while in Las Vegas? Can visitors register for the Las Vegas licensed sites like you can in New Jersey?

Here is a link to legal poker sites in vegas. Las Vegas Online Poker Room Reviews - AllVegasPoker.com

there may even be a tournie you can enter to get a free stay at Golden Nugget which I like the look of the pool as it may be kid friendly.

I think you can play on the golden nugget one in Canada I know Ace Play poker only pays our U.S. friends.(unless it has changed in 3 months.

Ip is now the "quad" . I don't know what it is like now but I will wait until I hear some good things about it before I venture back. Avoid the Riveria buffet too.

The High Roller (Ferris wheel) looks to be up and running now for the young at heart

The zip line on Freemont St. has been extended but check the age requirement and if it is reopened.

Does anyone plan to be in vegas for the "Grand Series" I will be playing there and "Binion's Poker Classic".

    Is it during March Break?

No, starts June 4th this year I think

  • My kid doesn't like flying, so unless I find a non-stop flight for March Break that doesn't cost an arm and a WPT FPC $2,500 entry, it looks like I may have to postpone our flying vacation until the summer. For the period between June 28 - September 1, are there any kid-friendly events going on in Las Vegas? Unfortunately for me, the WSOP does not qualify as being kid-friendly!

My kids really enjoyed the dunebuggy excursion we took last year.

  • I was thinking that she would like the "Pink Jeep Tours" such as the Red Rock Canyon Horseback Ride Combo Tour, but she may like the Sunbuggy "Family Fun Romp" even more.

We already have season passes to Canada's Wonderland & Splash Works along with going to one of the three waterparks in the Niagara area in the near future, but I'll see if we have time for the waterpark in Las Vegas.

One or both of my parents would like to play beer pong with me. Is that cool?

Absolutely. Family pong tournaments and family pong nights can be some of the best. You certainly get to see who was born with skill and who had to learn the game.

  • My mom took one of those pink vehicle tours to the Grand Canyon, I was busy degening away all day at the DSE but she highly recommended it. They go to the good part of the canyon or whatever for the best view and its like a get up early, all-day kinda thing. Was like $180 or something
  • You went to Vegas with your Mom?

She must think you're pretty cool.

    >:D

But seriously, $180 for the day is super cheap. I think we paid $499 for an hour.
  • 2 more sleeps!

Of course Buffalo is expecting 15-20 cms of snow on Wednesday.

As long as I get off on time I'm good with it.
