  • I heard he was assembling the boxes in which couches are moved whilst living with his parents awaiting testicular descent
  • he got the pot head part right
  • He is sort of behaving over at P-5s . . . wonder if this will change things?

Did mike6321, Costanza, fed, ILuvRake or any other playa happen to go to Fallsview the past couple of days? I was thinking of driving there tonight and just phoned. A satellite is about to get started, but I'm not sure if there will be another one tonight so I think I'll wait until tomorrow and book a hotel until Sunday.

Which "level" are the ones that are being run the most?
  • my friend was there the other night and said there were only two 2/5 tables running. There were six tables running Tuesday by 2pm at Woodbine.

What about getting 10 players together to play a $220 satellite at Woodbine and top two get $1.1k seats to Fallsview? just have to start before noon. Saves a long drive to Niagara.
  • Why not 100k?
  • That's a good idea. Go ahead and organize the 10-player satellite, but there will probably be at least one or more randoms from Woodbine that aren't intrested in a WPT seat, so the default 70/30 prize structure may have to be used.

He said that as of last night, all 600 seats have been sold for the $1,100 event.

Let the frenzy begin! How many players you know with multiple seats? I expect they will now start showing up on Kijiji at a large mark-up. This is a lot earlier sell out than previous years. So much for the Woodbine satellite idea.

Don't expect many will remain on the day of the tournament.
  • Wonder how many of those satellites that ran didn't get their seats for their winning satellite players.

Will the winning players of those satellites be happy being an Alternate if they end up with that instead???
  • Only in Ontario where we have to worry about sold out tournaments and paying scalper prices to play. Only good thing about scalpers vs high rake is the poker players keep the money and not the house.
  • Your Woodbine idea can still work as the $540+$20 SNG I played there has a prize pool of $5,400, enough for one or two $2,500 WPT entries. Many of the Woodbine SNG regs are now at Fallsview and we're all hoping that Woodbine will learn and extend the deadline past noon after WPT Fallsview.

I've won more than one $1,100 entry card, but I haven't had time yet to contact the various underground clubs and players I know.

If I had an extra seat to the $1.1k, I wouldn't charge a fellow poker player I know a premium to buy the seat from me. Karma is a bitch Buddy :) Likely starting a new job in a couple weeks so no FPC for me this year :(

Are you selling them at a premium or face value?

I know a guy looking for a ticket.

PM me if you want to sell one.

The irony is that if you're against a fellow poker player and you have the nuts on the river, would you just check instead of betting so you would make less money from them? I know it's different cause one is a game and the other is real life, but if everyone is willing to pay $1300 for one, why not sell it for that price?
  • At least take a shot at the $275 and $550 super satellites on February 19 and 21. Then we go for a celebratory dinner at Ruth's Chris or other steak house and invite the Royal Flush Girls or Christine! :D

Wayne Gretzky: Take the shot, pokerJAH, take the f***ing shot!

Would consider one or both but just think I'm too rusty as I have played so little in the past year...

Oh wait.. You were talking to jah... ;)
  • You played better in the couple of times you went to Woodbine than many of the donks I keep seeing at Fallsview. Here are a few of my favourite quotes:

    1) "But I had outs!" Villain tries to justify getting involved in an all-in with nothing, then sucking out on the river.
    2) "See, I should have folded Aces preflop!" Villain was in so much pain when he woke up with Aces after an all-in and he thinks he always loses with Aces.
    3) "Ante? What ante?" and "You want me to put in my blind AGAIN?" as the dealer has to remind the same clueless player to put in his blinds and antes EVERY SINGLE HAND!
    4) "I'd rather play against the best pros in the world than losing players who don't know what they're doing." :bs:

Yes, I'm talking to you, pokerJAH, pkrfce9, Gottaget, PIRANHA & all the other decent players in this forum that I learnt from, but retired way too early from taking shots at a 650-player WPT donk fest. And after we make it to the final table just like local amateurs Soren Turkewitsch and Glen Witmer did in the previous WPT Fallsview by taking a shot at a satellite, you'll thank me.

Got your PM, but your inbox is full, so couldn't reply.
  • I think Fallsview should change their $1100 tournament next year to $1000+$200. And still not offer us a food comp. I bet they will still sellout. At least it minimizes they scalping.
  • If Fallsview changes any thing to the 1.1k tourney it should be to have a day 1a -1b that way there are plenty room and it will generate a nice prize pool, I would bet money they could sell both days out still!
  • Where and when are the Tuesday and Thursday rungood breakfasts taking place?

If its someone I know, I wouldn't charge them a markup, but that's just me. But $300 does mean more to some I guess. If I can get time off, I plan to play the $275. I assume we do the credit card roulette :)
  • Remember to put your CONSTRUCTIVE suggestions in writing, e.g., request a "Customer Comment Form" from the VIP Services desk. There's no point in bitching/whining, but not even letting Fallsview know how to improve for what will hopefully be many years of WPT events. I have talked to both Matt Savage of the WPT and the Fallsview Casino Shift Manager, and there is reason for optimism for continuing improvements in the future.

I remember the first year of the WPT, Fallsview had some food in the tournament area which has enough for a light meal. In the third and last year of the WPT, it was down to chips & Popkorn. :( What was the food in last year's FPC?

A good improvement for next year would be to make the satellite system more like the WSOP Rio and Venetian DSE. Use TOURNAMENT DOLLARS chips which can be applied towards any tournament or satellite. The $1,100 can become a $1,250 (1115+135), then three tiers of satellites can be run for the $1,250, $2,500 and $5,000 events. Is anybody willing to include this in their Comment Form?

No, after you win the $275 then the $2,500 event, you'll pay for the Ruth's Chris Steak House dinner for me, pkrfce9, Christine, Xuan, Kara, Ivy, Angelique, ... :D

    I better be invited....
  • Anyone heading to Fallsview in the next few days? Was interested in buying a $275 satellite seat. Can EMT the funds. Thanks.
