2013 Life goals, not poker related.

  • The Last 5 pounds has tortured me, seemed to plateau even at less than 500 net calories a day for several weeks. Hoping this was muscle mass related. Finally have broken into the 220s, hoping to hit the "teens" in 2-3 weeks max
  • Looks like it's been 2 weeks and finally under 220. I seem to plateau out for about a week right on the cusp.

Tried benching 185, was able to do 4 reps, so feel like at about 205-210 I'll be matching body weight.

Adding eggplant, variety of mushrooms, recipes with bell peppers etc. can't get enough fish.

Started my sleeve on my left arm, pretty stoked about that and after full day session, most of the outline is done. Likely 4 or 5 full days till complete, have an award winning artist but his schedule and my wallet allow for only one full session a month so it will come together as my fitness goals do. Will for sure have one arm finished prior to summer Vegas, likely half of the other but I'm gonna lazer off some old stuff on upper right arm before finishing that one.

Upwards or downwards as it maybe to 210.
  • 3 weeks later and have only been able to drop 5lbs, though at the beginning had bought a size 44 suit and now just bought size 36 dress pants for Christmas party. It's a real coin flip wether or not I'll hit 200 by end of 2013. Been as low as 213 but seem to hover around 215 for most part. I'm drinking more shakes and still playing with diet, so doable but math and current rate is making it look pretty tight.

Strength wise I decided to test max on machines rather than find spotter. I don't believe it's quite the same as free weights with the pulley assistance, but was able to do 250lb stack on bench and 415lb stack for legs.

Anyone else making any progress for my now dear dairy thread??

    Got milk? (sorry, had to.)

I have been eating better this year. More regularly I guess. I can go for an entire day without food if I'm busy at work. Won't even think about it. I can't do that anymore. It's just not physically possible. I have come to realize I just don't like fish and it likely won't be part of my life on a regular basis. It just pisses me off in general for the most part in a lot of different ways.

I made no headway on the quitting smoking thing. I did go through a few more phases this year where I had desire to quit, but it didn't go much farther than that. Gonna have to notch that one up a bit in terms of doing something about it.

Did get connected with a few more contractors and real estate agents for work this year, which did result in a shit load more money last winter and this fall/winter thus far. Thankfully. It's also progressed to the point that they've all called me "their painter". So as long as they need work done around town, I'm their guy. I'm also pleased that these are amongst the best, highest quality, well known and respected in their field around town. Glad to be part of quality business relationships.

Did do more with the dogs this year in terms of training. Built some agility equipment. Have plans on building more next year. Didn't find anyone to help with tracking yet. Doesn't seem to be anyone around here that is into that line of training.
  • I did P90x and shed a bit then hit a plateau for about 2 months.

Then I discovered something better, twice a week, same diet along with your workout routine.

    Hot yoga.

    Yea, I said it.

    Trust me.

Nothing wrong with hot yoga, young guy in my office (30'ish) swears by it. He is also a veteran tough mudder (think about 7 or 8 of them), avid hunter (think bear and moose) so nobody would call him anything wimpy or such... Whatever works to make you feel better... Don't wait till my age, too late then.. :(

Calling BS here. Just worked for a 70 yr old cancer survivor who started 'insanity workouts' every morning at 6am. No excuses for not being there she said. "What else are you doing at 6am?" She's never felt better in her life and has the life outlook of a 'young un'. My new fave customer.

    Do it son.
