Repercussions?

So..what changes are we going to see in the online world now? Some of the issues that I see arising..

-lower guaranteed tournaments
-fewer tournaments for the west, and as mentioned, many more in the Euro time zones.
-Vanessa Selbst getting a day job to pay her way through school
-way fewer pros out there
-way fewer Supernovas as there won't be the volume available?
-an increase in live tournament attendance in the US?
-Will Full Tilt and Stars merge to a single platform to get the numbers up?
-Can or will these two sites continue at such low volume?

I think we can obviously also see many more gov't run sites in the near future.

How many millions? billions? did the pros in the US get locked up today?? How much do Antonius and Ivey keep online that they likely don't have access to? What about the rest of the pros cash online...can many of these guys afford to lose that amount?

    Do we take him back?
  • I think the B&M casino poker rooms are going to see a spike in attendance in the near term. Might be a good time to hit Seneca.
  • I hear properties are inexpensive in Windsor. Can anyone say, cross border online poker ?
  • As of right now sunday mil is still $1.5mil and ftops #1 is 3 mil. Some of the afternoon tourny guarantees are lower though, $40k ko -> $30k ko, $42k -> $30k
  • depending on mass panic and everything casinos are filling up today as its the weekend especially state side.....dammit!!! im at work
  • A lot of US players listed in the Sunday Million still. Wondering if they can cross border and still access their accounts? Is it an IP thing or a registered address thing?

Guess I am changing plans and gonna play this if the overlay is still there.

Scoop hasn't changed their numbers yet either.
  • They are registered because they paid their entry before the shutdown. I'm sure Stars doesn't have a way of automatically deregistering them. They could probably do it manually but probably need to keep the money to keep the guarantee up.

NAPT tour is probably DOA unless you think they will have more of a presence in Canada or do you think the online sites will give up on N.A and focus on Europe? Big plus for WSOPE obv.

yeah, I figured as much as well...just wondering though..if they do cross border or re route their IP can they log in and play? Don't know how they would get paid as that would likely get flagged.. Or, are any accounts US registered simply locked?

As was mentioned...maybe border housing in Canada will all of a sudden be unavailable and we will have grinders shacked up in them all...lol
  • <- Searching for Windsor properties now. :D
  • on the personal bright side. I get many hours of my life back per week and fewer grey hairs. Might even find some time to exercise!
  • I better not have my cyber medal removed from my little box!
  • Wonder about the WSOP. Probably no advertising from the big 3, No Patches
US Players may end up coming here and filing for refugee status. lol
  • WSOP will continue. Smaller fields, maybe . . .

FTP and stars will re-emerge, probably under new identities.

PartyPoker will be the first on-line site to be registered in the USA when it becomes legal down there (2-3 years?).

All funds in US based accounts will be forfeit to Uncle Sam.

On-line sports books will be next in line for a shafting by the Feds.

...and many more qualifiers from around the globe.
  • A conservative majority means we follow closely on the heels of this crap

Was it hobbies or moose who talked about the khanawake FBI showdown? They'll just get their lacky harper to do it for them

What will the sports channels show now to pad mid day programming?
  • Honestly ; I think with all that happened Stars, Tilt and UB are pretty much
"PHUKED" from ever getting back into the US market.
If the owners are convicted they will never get a license to operate any ONLINE CASINO and No B&M will join in any partnership with any of them.
Ya think Wynns knew something was coming when they decided to back out of their arrangement with Stars? Early last week I believe that happened.

3 will have to be sold to another company and probably renamed before this can happen.
I believe that all 3 are pretty much finished.
The next question to be answered is how long before Canada, and European countries catch up with the US...

National Scrabble Championships and Phat Arse womans figure skating. lol
  • Doubt the Conservatives would be as heavy handed as Uncle Sam. There would be no need, now.

As for the reserves, ALL levels of government have demonstrated that they have no stomach for that fight.
