I was going to bring mine, but whatever.

Mark told me the cash game would be upstairs in his apartment.

We could also do it like most tourneys where once a table collapses (or, quite frankly if we don't fill up) use the spare table.

I email around 100 people regarding my upcoming events.
22 players that have signed up for my next tournament are not associated with the Forum or I knew before they joined the Forum. Add 22 entries to your list and you have a full house. I was getting 40 players even before I joined the Forum.

Also, my tournaments have been running for a while. When people come, they know what they are getting.

Your buy in might be too low to attract some of the out of towners. They will make the drive for a chance to win $1000, but some will not for a first place worth around $200.

    Oh I know!

I'm just starting out and would like to try and establish myself as you have, I was just pointing out that a Saturday afternoon doesn't automatically prevent full tourneys!

It was a compliment to your tourney directing awesomeness!

  • And as always, you are quite correct.
  • Get a room, you two, preferably away from the players . . .

I'd play Mark, but I have something going on that evening. And, before you say I'd be home in plenty of time, just ask yourself who lasted longer at Johnnie's place last month.

I'll try to make the next one, though . . .

Dave is quite correct. West Side emails 500 people plus forum traffic for a 12:30pm start. People will come once they know what they get for there money and time being there. For example, they take they shot at the tournament prize pool and know if they bust, they can useally walk out with anywhere from 3oo-600 in the cash game. Once we had a guy walk out with 1200 in the cash game. I believe that is what attracts the players. Devon busted at Dave's and made 450.00. I made 350.00 at Ron's game. Cory made 700.00 the same day at Ron's. I believe it is not just the tournament, but the play at the cash game as well. That is why they make the drive and pay the rack. They know they are getting better service than the casinos offer. Time of day isn't the issue.
