These taxes are why I'll never go out of my way to play a big tournament outside europe. If they took a 1000 dollars from each main event player instead of taxing any winnings above 100k at all they'd complain about getting less than half the taxes they were expecting compared to last year. That's like 20-25% added rake that goes to someone who has absolutely no buisness touching poker players hard earned money. It is pretty fucking ridiculous, glad all europe tournaments are tax free for me
Funny I just dropped some stuff off at RMS as well..... wasn't for a big score so they only charged 25% which I found decent, most places i found were $100+25%
