    Filippi Filing for the Exit
Kirk Morrison started things off on third street by completing. Alan Boston looked at Morrison on his right and Amnon Filippi on his left before folding. Filippi raised folding everyone else out of the hand. He and Morrison then got enough chips in the middle to put Filippi all in.

Filippi was drawing with buried nines and an ace against Morrison's buried kings and ten. By sixth street Morrison made kings and sixes, leaving Filippi with a squeeze only to a nine at the river.

"Four across," said Filippi. But it wasn't a nine. He drew a ten and was busted from the tournament.

"You guys had me squeezed good. I had 10-J-Q. If you had more chips I would have gambled," noted Boston after the hand.

Dan Heimiller offered some solace to Filippi. "You can call [Morrison a cock with no penalty. Just say you were reading his hat." Morrison is indeed wearing a hat with a picture of a rooster on it.

    ^-^
  • We can't win races:(

Already up to about 7,000, Phil Ivey just gave a little back after doubling up an opponent. He raised in early position to 300 and his opponent went all in from late position for 1,025.
Action folded around to Ivey and he called with ah.gifkd.gif, racing against 7s.gif7d.gif. The board ran out 3s.gif2d.gifqc.gif2c.gif6d.gif and Ivey takes a small hit, dropping to about 6,000.
  • Greg was up to 10,000...gets allin on a turned straight against villain's 2pr. Villain hits his boat on the river. He's crippled...and Steve is out too

  • Is there no play this year? like it is only level 3 is it not? smaller starting stacks?

Just don't get how quite a few people are out already.
  • Anybody know how Hellmouth did in event 8? I'm lazy . . .
  • At second break, Greg is back up to about 8500 again.
  • Sir watts in 4th event 11, hellmuth out in 15th in his event.

    18000!
  • It's the Ching Hill factor . . . has to be.
  • He took a hit shortly after this, went back down to about 8k. Last text I got said it was dinner break, so I assume he made that. Nothing since, so not sure if he's still in it or not.
  • AJ, any idea how a fella named Tom Bauer who is a friend of Steve and Greg is doing? I have a little piece of him courtesy of Greg's WSOP satty game

Haven't heard anything, Greg hasn't mentioned him yet. I"ll text him and see, but he's most likely flaked out still.
  • All Orangeville Players busted on Day 1 of Event 11, not sure of many hand details, other then my own.
Here is the hand that crippled me, I have 7k in chips
blinds 50-100 I am under the gun dealt Q J suited
    Raise to 400
Middle Position and Big Blind Call
    Flop A 10 5 Rainbow
    Big Blind Bets 600
I call and Middle Position folds
Turn is a K for my straight and no flush opportunity
    Big blind bets 1500
    I raise to 4500
Big Blind pushes all in and I call
My straight versus A K Two pair
River is an other A giving opponent Full House
I am now left with 550 chips.

I build it back to 1525 before the end of the level but go bust on first hand after break with KcQc vs A K

Oh well next WSOP is #56 $2500 buy in on July 2
  • Sounds like the hand that crippled Greg too early in the round. Sorry to hear all the Orangeville crew are out already, I was living vicariously :D
  • Tough one Steve, sickening actually, can't get it in much better there...
  • Well, the Orangeville guys might have been felted but damn, congratulations is in order anyway. You all won tourneys to get there and play in the WSOP and we sitting here at home did not.

Best of luck in the $2500 event Steve.
Greg, I would love to personally know the next ME champ!
  • It's not The WSOP but I went to Binions and played Event 11 of their 4th Annual Poker Classic and took it down for $5200 and no tax taken off

Very nice Steve, I also plan on playing there next week. Can you tell me how many runners they had?

Are you going to give a GN event a try as well?
