umm... Milo... I think I found a hole in your poker game...

    you + math = fail

Sorry, I should have specified for those who tend to get dropped on their heads a lot . . .

Most 9 hole courses discount the fees if you play them twice, so Peel is $48 for 18 holes, rather than $27 x 2 = $54.00 (which is what I think you are getting at Cerb).
  • Put me down for interested......and especially in Turnberry. It's NOT an executive course, and I'd bet you would get higher average scores at Turnberry than Mayfield despite the difference in par. People equate par 3's with easy, not a chance on that course, and no doubt conditions will be impeccable.

Edit: Wes and Wetts, if you make plans for Turnberry let me know. And make sure to check out GolfNow.com for discounted rates.

I've checked GN for Turnberry, and prices aren't that far off/sometimes after the GN added fees and taxes, it's cheaper to go straight to the course.

Anyone can make a Twilight round on weekdays? If not I guess we can just go with a weekend round.
  • If the tourney ends up at Turnberry, I will decline. Not terribly interested in a par-3 course, no matter how well designed. Just my opinion . . .

    :-X
  • We're not saying Turnberry for the tournament.

This is a "nice" course and I doubt our antics would be accepted.

I am Definately saying we should setup a round at Turnberry sometime very soon tho.

In for this weekend, if there's at time open. I'll google them and see what's available.

Booked for 4pm Sunday, twilight rate of $35 + $20/person for cart. Booked for foursome, so if you're intersted in joining me, PM me.

    This weekend no good.

Weekday twilight or something other than this weekend tho.

Sorry Darryl, didn't see this until after I booked. Still going to head out on Sunday though, check it out. HM, you in?

    Antics? Surely you jest? :D

Agreed on this one - Turnberry is a nice course but I doubt we would last very long on the course given our antics.

AJ - I'll let you know tonight about Sunday hopefully by tonight tomorrow latest.

Sorry, this weekend is a no go for me. Weekdays except Monday and Thursday mornings are great for me. Weekends I usually spend at the home course......which by the way could play host to the CPF tourny if you guys don't mind a run out to K-W.
  • .which by the way could play host to the CPF tourny if you guys don't mind a run out to K-W.

I'm willing to drive to the GTA for this event seeing as Brampton CPFers come down the KW for the Royal Cup.

    OK......???

Am I supposed to feel bad for offering up the home course of 3 CPFer's (Buzzzard, Joeheartsdi and myself) for this?

    Yes.

The fact that you can likely hit a ball straight is advantage enough.

To then want the homefield is just plain rude.
  • Well then my bad. :-[

Btw have you played Turnberry yet? Lots of good reviews on torontogolfnuts.com message boards.
  • No, but I live about 2 minutes from it and drive past it everyday.

They constructed it basically on man made hills, and if its anywhere near as nice as Eagles Nest than its probably worth whatever the greensfee is.

I would pretty much guarantee this. Really like Eagles Nest but it is punishing for both the game and the pocket book. Love the Turnberry concept (and price point) and it's a great way to work on the most important part of golf. Looks like short game heaven to me.

Sorry, I didn't see Buzzzard or Joe sign in ITT. But don't feel bad. I was only pointing out that we are due to make the drive up to Brampton. I can drive any KWers that want to come with. YAY ROAD TRIP!

If it is decided that Rebel Creek is the course of choice (and I'm OK with that too), I would certainly offer up Nithview Casino (aka my basement/garage)for the poker tournament.
  • I won't commit to anything until I am sure I will be there. If the date suits count me in but odds are I will be playing somewhere else that day already. And Joe is getting married next weekend so he might get out golfing in abour ten years.
  • I still have 4pm on Sunday booked at Turnberry for anyone who wants to join me. I'll give it the end of the day today before I post on TGN. Looking forward to playing this actually, as I agree with HM it looks like a great short game track, and that's what I need the most work on.

Sent an email to Mayfield asking about open times in July/August for our little tournament, no word back yet. Thinking I might just drop by there and ask in person.
  • Sorry AJ - can't make it out tomorrow. We'll definitely play the course some time this summer with Wetts and others
  • Still have room for 2 more this afternoon at 4pm. Twilight rate is $35 + cart, which seems to be a good deal for this link. Yes, it a short game course, but that's what I need the most work on anyway.

If you're interested in coming out, let me know

hahaha!. lets hope this is not true.. but if you guys are running this 5 years from now i MIGHT be able to get out.. we will see..

seriously, I would interested , either rebel creek or somewhere in the GTA. if you guys wanna get out for a twilight round somewhere keep me posted....

gotta go cut the grass, laundry, dishes and give my wife a pedicure! see ya in ten years...
  • Side note . . . the original closest to the pin trophy will be up for grabs this year, as I am unsure if new ones can be secured. Besides, it's kind of more fun to pass them back and forth. I forget who won longest drive lat year, but perhaps that one can be brought back, as well?
  • I won the longest drive with my 180 yard bomb. (Note: it was directly into the 50kph wind and I think I may have been the only one to keep it in the fairway).

I received no trophy but I did get an extra green chip for the game that night.
  • Maybe the second trophy went for low round? Idk . . .

And it was at least 60kph that day . . . maybe 75.
  • bored @ w3rk...
  • Wow . . . you should go work for "play4time" (sp?) . . .
  • bored @ w3rk...

Ladies and gentle golfers...we have out new LOGO!

    VERY nice work Joe!!

Can we possibly get that silkscreened for golf shirts and caps??
  • I can probably get them printed, got some connections on embroidery/printers if there is enough interest
