  • Good luck Sharan, they're a tough crowd.

What was your last negative interaction with the police?

When breaking someones heart, which approach do you use and why?

Do you ever give spare change to people begging on the street?

Do you own pets? What genus or species?

I assume you have an Irish background. Were you born there, or do you have ancestral attachments?

What's it like in the summer where you live? Bugs? Hot? Do people bother camping there?

I swear, I'm trying to improve on my questions that I ask. This may or may not be displayed in this effort.
  • Am I your favorite on here?:D

Why do you live where you freeze your ass off?

Who is your favorite poker player?
  • First question does not respect gender lines:

    Booze?
    Meat?
    Sex?

If you had to, which one do you give up, and why?
  • While it is my personal opinion that Milo and Philli don't play the forum games because they are afraid of your poker skills and don't want their asses publicly thrashed in a public way, do you agree?
  • Do you think Bill calling me out is appropriate in your thread, rather than his own?
  • Your first love (or perceived love). Name, situation?

What is your current romantic status?

What did you want to be when you were a little girl?

Do you like to cook? If so, what would be your best/signature dish?

    Where were you born? Raised?
  • Woo! Thanks for passing the torch Bill. Ok, I will get to these wonderful questions right away! Just finishing up a few things for the evening, and then you will have my full attention.

~ My family has always played lots of different card games. Cribbage, Kanasta, Rummy, Euchre...and Poker is always played first when you play Rummoli. But I will say it was my little brother that got me into the poker we play today. I didn't know what hold'em was until about 3 years ago. He got me to download stars so we could play a bit together.

For about a year I just played with play money. I was uncomfortable and skeptical about depositing online. Once my playmoney br was over a million tho...I decided to try it. I got a prepurchased visa and deposited, and have never looked back.

The first time I ever played live, was also the first time I had ever been in a Casino. It was a ladies only tournament at Casino Regina, just about 2 years ago now. Made the final table. Once over my initial nerves and jitters, it seemed the most natural place for me, to be at a poker table. I don't get to play live as much as I would like, but I do pretty well when I do get to go.

~ I love lots of things about poker. It is a constantly changing game. There is always something new to learn. It is a mental battle, with short or long lived friendships and rivalries. It is amazing all the different and wonderful people you get the opportunity to meet, that you might not otherwise. And nothing feels better than being at a table with a guy, especially one with the attitude that poker is a "Man's" game, and totally owning him!!

~ Yes, I am definately female. If I could be a man for a day, I would.....

....So be writing my name in the snow. Making designs, works of art!! If it happened in summer, I would go from hockey arena to hockey arena marking each pile left by the zamboni. Its just not the same when you can only help someone else do that.

~ Worst news: Other than regular things like saying no to something asked of me, I have not really had to be the bearer of bad news.

Best news: Telling my mum she was going to be a grandma.

    ~ I am innocent!

~I like lots of different music, and will listen to almost anything, but I am a classic rock girl first. Some concerts I have been to: Moxy Fruvous, April Wine, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Bare Naked Ladies, STP, Jan Arden, Rolling Stones. Had tix for Aerosmith then Steven Tyler had to go and be a goober and fall off the stage...bah!

Thanks Bill. I might need it :)

~ I took a road trip to the states with my son 2 summers ago. I was there for about 3 weeks, and hadn't been pulled over. I drove about 11k kms. Last night in the states, driving through South Dakota, pretty late. Enter a small town north of Rapid City. Driving maybe 30kms, as I need to stop for fuel, and I am looking for an open station and then the lights go off behind me. The officer actually made me leave my vehicle (my son was asleep in the back seat) and get into his (in the front).

I honestly was so intimidated. They carry guns you know! He said he clocked me going over 60mph...but who am I to argue? He calls in my Licence number but I guess Sask does not have theirs available to the US registry or something cuz he couldnt pull up anything, neither could the dispatch guy. Tells me that he could hold us, as he has no way of knowing if I am wanted or some crap like that. Tells me he will just write me a ticket, if I leave and don't pay I will have a warrant for my arrest if I go back. So, upon the advice of my mum on getting pulled over in the US, I offered to pay cash for the ticket, and he happily let me go on my merry way....He probably tore it up and kept the cash, but worse could have happened.

~ This is a tough one. I will come back to it...

~ If I have it, yes, always.

~ I have 2 cats in my house. Stewie, is my brothers. Arnold, mine, was our Christmas addition this year.

~ I was born in Regina. Canadian through and through, but yes I do have ancestral attachments...My dads side of the family is Irish. Mum's English and Scotch.

~ Sask summers are great. It can be pretty hot, sometimes with waves of high 30's. Hot days and cool nights can make great thunder/lightning storms in the evenings. They are truely awesome to watch here. Ofcourse there are bugs, and like anywhere else, they go in cycles. Depending on the weather, mosquitos can get bad sometimes, or fishflies out at the lake, but you deal with it as it comes. FYI: Mosquitos do not like quainine. Drinking Gin and Tonic works better than any repellant! We are locked in snow and ice for 6 months...a few bugs are not going to stop us from enjoying the warmth of the sun that we do get!

~ Yes people camp here!! There are some wonderful fly in only fishing camps here, and contrary to popular belief, Sask is not all prairie...once north of Saskatoon you are in Shield country. Lots of people here have summer cottages, even spend the summer there and commute to the city.

@}->-- Your questions were great Bill. Stop worrying your pretty little head so much!

Who is your favorite poker player?

~ You spelled favourite in American?! I plead the fifth!

~It's where home is at this point in my life. And, though it is colder than a witch's tit here in the winter, I do not have to deal with hurricanes, or earth quakes, or massive amounts of people as Sask has a population of about 1 million :P

~I am my favourite poker player!......Seriously, I like to watch the styles/antics of lots of players. If I had to pick a favourite tho, it would probably be Daniel Negreanu. He was the one I watched most when I first got into poker.

For me, Booze would be #1 to go. I am not a big drinker, and it would be the easiest to adapt to being without.

What is your current romantic status?

What did you want to be when you were a little girl?

Do you like to cook? If so, what would be your best/signature dish?

    Where were you born? Raised?

~My first love was in high school. His name was Rob, and he was a grade ahead of me. He was so dreamy, and we had a wonderful relationship. Things never really fell apart with us, just became friends more. A few years after highschool we tried again, but I think we both knew we were better off friends. Unfortunately, I have not really been in touch with him much since moving to Regina, but he will always be my first love.

~My current romantic status is single.

~ A stewardess. I always wanted to travel the world.

~I do like to cook, and even more I love to bake. I am the only girl, and have 3 brothers. I grew up doing most of the cooking, as both my parents were working. I even took pre chef courses in high school (no not home ec). I make awesome homeade soups and stew. But my signature would probably be my spaghetti sauce, or anything I can BBQ.

~ I was born in Regina Sk. I was raised all over Canada. My dad and mum were both in the military. My mum got out when I was young but my dad stayed in. I lived in Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Calgary, and of my own volition, Vancouver, Seattle and Spokane for a while.

~Yes I did, and I will forever call them stewards/stewardess. This politically correct crap goes too far over silly things. Just like it should be server, not waiter/tress. In many languages there is gender appropriate terms for many things, all are correct.

~I could never hate you for anything! Or if I am going to, it is going to be for something far better than that^^!

~I have 1 son, Liam Brodie. He will be 11 on the 10th of May. What a mother's day gift huh? He is intelligent, witty, sarcastic, and incredibly literal!! Loves video games, fishing, swimming, being at the lake, traveling for long distances in a car....very well rounded.

Kids are awesome, and each day with them is a learning experience, and ultimately full of funny moments. The beginning of grade 1. I get a note home that Liam has been in trouble and I need to see the teacher, so we go in. Well, it was recess and the kids were out playing in the field. Probably as far away from the school as possible. Liam had to pee, but knew he wouldn't make it. So, he went away from everyone, made sure his back was turned, and peed! Some girl told the teacher ----> he gets in trouble as it inappropriate.

Personally, I found it extremely hard not to laugh!..I said to her that while I appreciate being told, and I do understand it would be inappropriate, but a simple note home would have sufficed. We will discuss this further at home, but I refuse to give him a hard time over this. First, I taught him that if he ever needed to go and there was no washroom available, this was what he should do. Its not like he whipped it out and tried to pee on the other kids! And this is a much better scenario than him wetting his pants in front of everyone and having to go through the whole day like that. Thanks for your time.

    ~You gotta take it honey!

    ~My mum x5.

~Thongs most of the time or commando, tho I do have boxers for around the house, and a couple pairs of boycuts.

~Urkel would strangle Gibler by accident with his suspenders ftw!

    ~Second cousins.

How would you say that affects your interpersonal relationships, if at all?

~ Not since Liam was about a month old.

~I met dad while staying down in the States. We were quite excited to find out I was pregnant, but I did not want to stay down there to have him, so I came back to Canada. Calgary at this point. He came up just after I got home from the hospital. Though not an ideal situation, things were fine then one day I just couldnt get ahold of him. Number disconnected..etc. I even tried once through his mom. Maybe he got scared, or wasn't ready. Who knows, but that is the choice he made. In my opinion, his loss, not mine. I would never stop Liam from finding him if that is what he choses. He asked about him and we have talked about it, looked at pics etc. I will be honest and say that yes at first it bothered me, but I have absolutely no regrets.

~Both Air Force. Both MSEOps. My brother, who is in Afghanistan now is also an MSEOp.

I also have an Uncle that recently retired as a Lieutenant Colonel (Reserves) here in Regina, and my Aunt (his wife), a Warrant Officer, is still a Reservist.

~Sometimes it sucks not having those same lifelong friendships I see others have...Like friends since kindergarten. I have no Idea what that is like. But I think the military life is a good one. I got to move around, see new places and meet new people all the time! Leaving friends was hard for sure, but you had to do it, and we all understood that.

~ I don't think it affects me in any strong negative ways. I just have more timelines/cycles of friendships than most. In many ways it seems I can make friends faster than others who did not grow up simalarly.

~ Dublin, Cairo, Athens, Rome, Machu Picchu. For the beauty, culture, and history of it all.

~Mums turkey/stuffing, mashed potatos, gravy, homegrown garden salad and veggies, our family shrimp cocktail and homeade biscuits. Finish it off with a saskatoon pie.

    ~Green

~Berlin for a week and Paris for a week. It was for a history class in university.

~I have not been enough places to make an informed decision on that question.

~ Live 14 hours or so. I had won a seat to the ME at this past Novembers Harvest Poker Classic. After getting knocked out, I ofcourse sat in on the cash tables. During these tournamens the poker room stays open until 6am :) Online, probably about the same.

~ I love them all!!! Me in comparison..... probably

~You and Cerb can go shopping together =)

~While playing at the above mentioned Harvest tournament, I got to talking to the CPT rep. Asked him about any sites etc I may want to look at, explaining to him that I don't get much opportunity to talk about/ learn about poker. First place he mentioned was PFC. I checked it out and signed up. I believe it was Jontm. Even had the pleasure of playing at a cash table with him.

~I would be in for trying to form a Western Team for the Royal!! That would be a hoot and a half. Who else would be in?

~Other than Jontm, no. Everyone! It is always nice to meet the people you have so much in common with and interact with almost daily.

  • Could you please tell us about the best Roughrider time you've ever had? (Please no Rough Rider stories in case you lived in Ottawa at some point)

Also, what horrific childhood event would make an abnormally nice and friendly Canadian girl be a fan of the Detroit Red Wings?
  • Question from GF. As a female poker player, do you feel more comfortable playing at a table where another female is present or does gender of opponents matter to you? Does it affect your game in any way?

~ We bleed green in Sask....Every time they take the field, home or away, in the stands, watching the tube, or even the crank up power radio while out on the boat is the best Roughrider time ever. Rider pride runs deep in the veins, and though they may have their moments, and they definately need to watch a bit more seasame street to improve their counting skills....those who do, will always and forever bleed green. Go 13th Man!!!!

~I don't have to take that from a Habs fan!!!!! When I was young I think it was because their uniforms were red and white :) I think Scotty Bowman is perhaps one of the best coaches ever, and ofcourse meeting Gordie Howe. They have always been my #1 team.
