QUOTED FROM WPT AMATEUR POKER LEAGUE under Ontario Home Games Thread.
We are new to the Tri-City area. We host free to play poker events at local venues, with the top prize being a $10000 seat at a WPT event. Currently running in)
Hey Laszlo, how long are their seasons, I mean when do you get a crack at the big $10,000 seat and does only one person get a seat somewhere? I'm about to start my league in Sept and after 12 weeks, season 1, someone will be winning a prize with a value in the neighborhood of $3k to $4k. So if I were doing it once a year it would be $12k to $16k.
It's ok Laszlo I found it all. Seems I was right, they have four feeder tournaments in a year, then there's only one big tournament per year and it's to the celebrity invitational not a 10k event, it's a 200k freeroll. They actually do give away a seat to the 10k Sports Legends event but no one plays to win it, it's a draw, for lack of a better phrase, out of a hat. It also seems that the winner will have to find his/her own way there and a place to stay. Wow, sucks to be that winner. lol and good luck at being that winner, odds are stacked against........
1st: Van Nguyen - $125,500 2nd: Ethan Ruby - $50,000 3rd: Billy Baxter - $20,000 4th: Justin Marchand - $15,000 5th: Elias Madias - $10,000 T-6th: Debby Perkins - $2,500 T-6th: Beverley Kuskol - $2,500 8th Place "Bubble Babe" - Kimberly Lansing and that's all folks for the Celebrity Invitational. Gotta beat over 440 people here and they aren't WPTAPL players
I am almost done my first 11 week season here with Big Slick Poker Tour
2 locations with a third for September.
70 players, 20-25 a night, which isn't bad mid summer and in the venues we have. We all expect a spike once the holidays are over and the locations are loving it.

Hey Jon,
Not yet, it starts Sept 26th and I have 3 venues to start, 2 in Barrie and 1 in Richmond Hill. I may have 3 more in Mississauga, depends on a contact whom asked for some info......August 16th is when I put out the ad's in the venues and around the areas. My site, if you've seen it, has a holding page and should be up in the next 2 weeks, or so I'm told. Thanks for asking and I'll let everyone know as I go. Cheers!
May have another venue for Saturday night in Stroud, 10 min drive South from Barrie and possibly a 2nd from the same owner at another venue in Alcona, 10 min drive from Stroud. Looking good so far, may have a full schedule. Mississauga venues may not be happening, haven't heard from supposed contact Rockonpoker.
I have landed an online poker affiliate for my leagues games Friday and Saturday nights. I have also landed PokerVT as a sponsor of my league. It's all coming together and it's going to be awesome^-^

I have added my fourth venue the Stroud Restaurant and Pub and a possible fifth from the owners wife who also runs a bar near by.
I now have my fifth venue Wednesday, Sept 30th at Sunny's on Innisfil Beach Rd. in Alcona, just South of Barrie. I hope to see a few forum'ers there, or at any other of my venues, make sure you let me know who you are if you come out to play.

We don't need 2 threads saying the same thing.
