I will be playing the -ev Seneca ... if you want a ride to Niagara instead, let me know.
Thanks, but you won't see me waste a single cent at -30% Seneca or Mirage Casino until hell freezes over AND the Leafs win the Stanley Cup! ;) Good luck.

but you have your $10k "get out of withholding tax" card waiting to find a good home :) still a much better structure at Seneca and the availability of NL cash games vs limit makes it worth it IMO.
  • Are they no longer running the 2x a week tournies?

I'll probably be playing in both this week if they are...

Where??? That guy owes me money!!!
  • Brantford always has a Thursday tournament, plus you can cross-dress for the Ladies Only tournament on the second Monday of every month. :) By the way, you can pick up your free $5 Dominican Republic poker chip if you still want it, or I'll have to bet it all on black when I go back to Ocean World Casino in January 2010.

    Will you be there Thursday?
  • You make Kelly and Herb proud Blondefish, all little representation from the east!

Nice avatar and the WPS link. I am gonna get that Dominican championship listed a few places soon. You been playing my poker mentors a bit then? "DC" is the man!
  • Just bought my seat for the 23rd. There are only 3 seats left to fill.
  • I tried to buy my seat for this Thursday, but it sold out early! :'( Is anybody else going to play next Thursday's tournament with $18,500 prize pool?

    I'm a maybe right now.
  • Starting in Aug. I hope to be a regular at the Thurs tournies.
  • Crazykoby and myself are more then likely will be playing the $400 July 30, 2009 tournament.
We both just have to see what happens with our current schedules before confirming
  • Since I've missed out on a couple of Brantford tournaments by waiting until Tuesday/Wednesday, I bought my seat early for Thursday. It was more than half sold out.
  • I got my seat earlier today
    I was number 23
  • CPT doesn't have any Brantford Tournies listed for the whole month of July and on.
does anyone know if these tournies are still a CPT Event?
  • so I emailed Kelly Kellner at CPT about the brantford events and about more events in Ontario here is what he had to say:

"They are fully onboard but in the middle of a big renovation so not a lot of events that they have registered. We are planning a large event there as soon as the reno is complete.
We have had some trouble getting reults from them but it is a work in progress."

"We are working with the Ontario venues to host more events and I am meeting with Fallsview on Wednesday to propose a major series of events to replace the WPT event that has now been cancelled. One way you can help is to talk to the poker room managers and request that more events be registered with us. There is no cost to the casinos and it helps the case we having been making to the eastern venues for the last couple of years."
  • The previous $400 event had less than four full tables, but surprisingly, this event sold out. First place gets $7,400, unless there is the usual multi-way chop since so many players are terrified of variance.

Four of the top points leaders from Great Blue Heron Casino were there, along with a few first-timers from the Fallsview high limit games. A stranger with a WCOOP jacket started talking to me, and I didn't realize until later that he is a Supernova who eliminated me at a WSOP satellite at the Rio where he won a couple of satellites. I also saw a friend whose toothbrush and deodorant I still had in a bag after he left them in our motel room during the final WPT NAPC a year ago. :-[

Beat: Had an above-average chip stack of 14,000 and I opted to go with the +$EV 3-bet all-in, but I lost the coin-flip to AK. IGHN, but SteveKerr was still there with two tables left.

Brag: I was low on gas so I stopped by Canadian Tire, which happened to have a big promotion on gas and car wash. I don't remember ever filling up a full tank of gas for only $35!

Variance: After the "Ultimate Wash", I look at my shiny car when I get home and see two bird droppings.
  • blinds 800/1600 I have 13k in chips
guy to my immediate right (he could be chip leader or close to it) raisies to 3500
I look at A Q suited and call
    flop A 2 Q
    Guy bets 4500
I push all in and get called by A K
river brings a K and I bust out in 16th place

    Tough Beat...

Looking to play this Thursday's tourney..

Any suggestions on things to know for someone with limited live tourney experience?

If it doesn't cost the casino anything, why are the Ontario and other eastern casinos so hesitant on participating and making it a truly national poker tour?

There were only four seats left when I bought my seat this morning, so phone them right now if they have a seat left.

All the OLG casinos have registered with the CPT, but none of them have had more than 12 tournament tables. Anybody that plays in Casino Rama and Caesars Windsor should keep bugging the poker room to register with the CPT. I will not play a single tournament in either casino until they do.

well said. hopefully the CPT will get more exposure out here and we'll get more opportunity to gain experience in live events that mean something.....though winner's cash is usually enough motivation...

    yeah... No. :)
  • My credit cards kept getting rejected as Casino Brantford was entering the expiry date incorrectly, so if anybody else is paying with a credit card for this Thursday's $200 tournament, make sure they enter the year and month correctly.
  • Congratulations to forumer Animaux for cashing yet again at yesterday's $200 sold-out tournament.
  • Note that there were less than ten seats left for the fun Bounty Tournament this Thursday.
  • Tried to get in the Bounty but it was full....

Wondering how it went...was it a all-in donkfest for the bounty chips?
  • Came 3rd, husband + wife came 1st and 2nd ...

    ps. They didn't softplay either.
  • who's going to this Thursdays $400 Tournament?

I got my seat last night only #15 so still lots of seats left, and I am sure this will sell out just like the last $400 one
