WPT Fallsview RAKE FREE Satellite Thread!!!

Graham feel free to move this if I posted it in the wrong section.

With satellites at Fallsview having started up again we can now start playing some Rake Free member satellites. If you are interested in playing in one please post so in this thread.

The Game has indicated he would be willing to host one and mentioned wanting to give 3 Prizes

1. $1240 Satellite Seat
2. $460 Satellite Seat
3. Cash Prize

With a 10 man Sit and Go this can be done with a $200 buy-in which would give 3rd $300 or we could have a $130 buy-in with 1 optional rebuy or addon of $50-60 which would guarantee a $1240 seat with additional funds going toward a $460 seat/Cash Prize.

Blinds and Structure created by Blondefish to insure a format suitable for all players.

Thoughts? Interest?

  • sounds interesting; hopefully a weekend tournament is possible.
  • definately interested
  • I like the rebuy/addon idea. And please no giving back of any winnings..

There has been talk of this before and I kind of agree with Westside it that should you win the rake free satellite then win your Fallsview satellite you should earn the right to 100% of any WPT winnings that follow.
  • don't like rebuy/add-on format; keep it simple.
  • Definately interested. Not interested in giving out % to satellite wins though. If it was direct to the event then maybe.

    I'd prefer the $200 fo over the $130 + 1rebuy/ao
  • Here are my suggestions:

    - Same blind structure as the $1,240 WPT satellite, i.e., 3,000 starting chips, 30-minute blinds. With 10 players, it will last 4-5 hours.
    - TDA rules will apply. Unlike Fallsview, the #1 rule is to consider the best interest of the game and fairness as the top priority in the decision-making process. Every effort will be made to award the pot to the winning hand, instead of ruling it dead. ;)
    - A brand new deck will be used, e.g, Copag limited edition commemorative Centennial or Dual Index deck. Pre-shuffling a second deck can be implemented to increase the number of hands per level.

Here are a list of possible locations and times for the rake-free satellite:
    - Woodbridge on a Saturday night.
    - East Mississauga on a Wednesday night or Sunday afternoon.
    - Southwest Mississauga on The_Game's day off.
    - Georgetown on a Sunday ~5 PM.

To those who have signed up, post or PM me which day you would be unavailable. If we have enough players, the satellite can be held as early as this weekend.

  • - Woodbridge on a Saturday night. (ok, is this at the club? not sure all players will be interested in playing at a raked club with the recent busts, eventhough this is rake free table)
    - East Mississauga on a Wednesday night or Sunday afternoon (Sunday ok, Weds no).
    - Southwest Mississauga on The_Game's day off.(what day is this?)
    - Georgetown on a Sunday ~5 PM. (no)

btw, I may be able to get a location near Pine Valley and Steeles for Sat evening if interested.
  • Sundays no. Georgetown no. The more east the better it is for me.

i'm going to be unavailable for a couple weeks (sorry) but after that, most days are ok after 8 or 8:30ish.

hopefully we can run more than 1 of these?
  • I'm interested.
  • I'm in for these as well, depending on my availability... I am in San Francisco this weekend and the rest of summer is looking very busy as well, but if I am free I'll try to make it out.

I can also host one of these games at my place (east end of downtown toronto)
  • this weekend is no good for me. but saturday nights or sunday afternooons should be good for me

    Me too

And +1 on not playing at a location where there are raked games going on at the same time.

With my schedule, between softball league, tournaments, travelling, I would say you guys pick a date that works for most/all, and I'll try to work it into mine.
  • Woodbridge, Mississauga or anything closer to Toronto would be fine for me. Also agree on not having it at a club as I feel more clubs are on the verge of getting busted.
  • Im ALL in with any structure(rebuy, add on, FO)
I dont mind driving 45 to 1 hour to play this game.
we dont have to share our winning money
im good for any day as long as i know at least couple of days ahead
the_game day off means anyday as long as we get enough player to play at the_game place south mississauga
skill 0 or skill 6 lets just play, and have a chance to play wpt. even i dont win a seat i wont feel bad cuzz i tried unlike past years where we just talk about playing a satellite but never play. lol.

soooo yea organize a game and im in.

why am I getting that feeling as well. I will throw out a couple dates: Sat. Aug. 2nd (long weekend) or Sat. Aug 9th at the game's place in Mississauga around 7pm.
  • I would be very interested in one out towards KW.

"- Same blind structure as the $1,240 WPT satellite, i.e., 3,000 starting chips, 30-minute blinds. With 10 players, it will last 4-5 hours."

This might be a dumb question but what do the blinds start at? How exactly do they escalate?
  • After talking to The_Game and others, we are going to try to have the rake-free satellite on Saturday, August 2 (holiday weekend) around 5 PM in Woodbridge. If you are interested, please PM me with your email address and any questions, and I will email the details.

change in plans. i AM available THIS friday, sunday or monday if that helps.

    not available aug 2.
  • I won't be able to do Aug 2
  • I can't do Aug. 2. Going to a play with the wife. I'm good pretty much any other Saturday.
  • Out for Aug 2...
  • Obvioiusly the long weekend is bad for almost everyone so lets work on finding a date that works for all. Post which days are good for all of you and we should be able to see a pattern or day that will work.
  • Aug. 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 16th, 17th
  • Seven players have already confirmed with me for August 2, so as unbelievable as it seems for The_Game and me, it looks like we will finally have the first rake-free satellite in a year! Once the first WPT satellite happens, it becomes a lot easier to have more satellites.

To Voodoo and anybody else that can make it for August 2, please PM me your email address as I'll be sending an email before Saturday. By the way, I'll probably carpool to Fallsview on Saturday and check out the $1,240 and $460 high-raked satellites.
