  • Critical now, M of between 4 and 5, in the red. Mike must be getting real crap cards...
  • He's out in 10th.
  • Darn... GG Mike, we were all pulling for you..

Hands #46-47: Mike "SirWatts" Watson Eliminated in 10th Place ($61,610)
The blinds are still at 20,000-40,000, with a 5,000 ante.

Hand #46: Jeff Schwimmer has the button in seat 2, and Watson moves all in from the cutoff for 395,000, winning the blinds and antes.

Hand #47: Wei Kai Chang has the button in seat 3, Watson moves all in from late position for 500,000, and Quinn Do calls from the small blind with KK. Watson shows A4, and he needs to improve to stay alive.

The board comes 1095Q3, and Quinn's pocket kings hold up to win the pot. Mike "SirWatts" Watson is eliminated in tenth place, earning $61,610. The next player to bust will receive $92,570 for ninth place.
  • Good job Watts maybe you can get back for April 5th and play against some real poker players.
  • 1 Canadian (I think) still left, Scott Montgomery from Ottawa... Just over a million... not the same tho...
  • Bad luck and timing on the last hand but great game otherwise.
    Congrats!

Yep, although might be a step up in class for him.. :)
  • Well done Watts
  • I remember a Scott Montgomery from another final table at the Ultimate Poker Challenge, but the one in tonight's final eight could be an American.

Nope, listen to this video, apparently he got under Helmuths skin.. Way to go Scott. The Ottawa part is right at the end.

Sadly not, he'll be gone again by then. Unless his plans change he'll be somewhere in Europe I believe.

Congrats buddy, now get your ass back here so I can learn how to do that ;)
  • Congrats on making it that far SirWatts
  • gg Watts congrats on your first big live cash... and WPT Final Table!

    /g2
  • Congrats Watts!!
  • Congrats to Canadians SirWatts and Scott Montgomery for their final table cashes. Scott will be in the TV final table and his 2.68 million chips is second only to Phil Ivey. He parlayed a C$6,510 finish at OLG Casino Brantford to a LAPC satellite win to a top 6 finish worth at least U$229,480!

Good Job Mike - well done!!!!!!

What were the key hands in this tournament for you?
  • Sir Watts, you make us proud, What an exciting read, I had written a different ending, but I am sure you will achieve that ending soon enough.

Great Job, Mike, and all the posters who told this journey.

  • Great game Watts!
  • congrats! thats for making my dull week somewhat exciting!

Would have been nice to have you with the 2 Phils and Nam, but 10th at one of the bigger WPT events is still fantastic.

GL the rest of the year.

Just wondering others opinion on the payout structure. Does anyone think that it should be spread a bit more? and possibly pay a few more spots?

I wish for Mike's sake that more of the top spots paid better - say the final three tables. Although the dollar amount is nice, he made a little more than 6 times his buy in after playing five grueling days of poker and making the final table.
