Do you get extra $$$ if you have the most points from the week's events? I think this was the case in the Spring Classic. Way to go Buddy! How many chips does he have going into Saturday's event? Might have to come down and watch the final table. Anyone else from the forum interested in cheering Buddy on to victory on Saturday?
  • nice! What was the payout?
  • Yes, there is a separate prize pool for the top 5 overall point-getters.

Buddy has 53,425 going into Saturday. This is above the average of 45k.

thanks for the info; how many players are starting on Saturday? what time does it start and is there a viewing area for the final table? I have never been to Brantford so this info would be helpful Animaux.

    10 from each day..so 30 in total.
  • Not 10 from each day...Top 10%+1 from each day and there will be no sellouts on any day in this event...Yesterday only had 51 or 54 people I forget which but 6 moved on...So 10%+1

Thanks for the correction...I just assumed it was the same as previous years, and just slipped my mind that none of the days were close to sell out.
  • Ran into Buddy today at BCC. He took down $14k in the $1k event.

I suck at poker but am damn good at craps. Had a hot roll which included hitting my 10 point the hard way which won some people a ton of money. Dealers got tipped $50 and I got $25. I've heard about that before, but that was the first time it had ever happened to me.

Damn Moose...I was at home playing my 360 all day...I would've went with you if I knew you were going..
  • You had to spend 5 hours in hospital first. I played the 'I'm so sick, pity me and fold card'. Didn't work.
  • There will be around 17 finalists tomorrow starting at noon. Casino Brantford has a great tournament area with multiple TV screens and an elevated viewing area with chairs. The Tournament Director software is shown on the largest screen, and some of you already know that I will be constantly looking back at that information as I try to figure out the best EV-maximizing play to make. I railbirded Animaux from the viewing area on Monday's final table, and Popkorn last night when I was the bubble boy.

Time to go for tonight's 6 PM tournament as I try to make it to the final eleven for the fourth consecutive day and lock up first place in the "Best All-Around Player" points prize pool. The top three players heading into last night's tournament all made it to the final eleven, so the race for the ~$25,000 pool is still very tight.

Some people just have to rain on the parade. Let everyone enjoy this.

    GL Buddy.
  • Way to go Buddy for winning the Points Race ! Congratulations on your 4th place finish today and for winning all that tax-free cash. Carry your rush onto the WPT. You are the one to watch!!!!
  • good work buddy! do tell.
  • Thanks to all the well wishers and congratulators. It was an exciting six consecutive nights of high stakes poker, so my reports will be longer than AllAces' 24-hour report last time. My goal was to make it to the money again at the Day 2 $100,000 event and that report is now posted @ http://www.pokerforumcanada.com/showthread.php?t=13512. I won my seat through a rake-free home game satellite so the other nine players will share in over $2,700 just by playing! There will be a celebration at The_Game's next satellite this Wednesday night.

  • Congrats, very nice win!
  • Excellent results buddy!!!
  • Belated congrats BlondeFish.
  • Detailed coverage of the six-day $450,000 Ultimate Poker Challenge is now available in the December issue of the Canadian Poker Player magazine. It includes my last four hands when I had more than half of the chips with four finalists left.

For the second consecutive issue, SirWatts is again mentioned, including a photo from WPT NAPC. Brad Booth is on the cover. I will be bringing an extra copy of the magazine at the weekly poker game on Friday night, and at the Bristol championship on Saturday.
