  • Probably my biggest limit pot ever, in the middle of a fairly sick 2-table rush at Party.

Something in the water tonight... I'm seeing massive pots at both tables every 6 hands or so.  :)
  • Yeah those two are hilarious.  The whole "I own you.  Fold it dum dum" shtick is interesting.  I wonder if it ever works...

I'm going to get in my (new :) ) car and search for a 24 hour Starbucks!  That's entertainment...  I think I have to go to Toronto General or Sick Kid's.  I don't know how I feel about going to a hospital for a pleasure cruise, but the coffee and the drive will probably be worth it.

5K in 3 hours over mostly 2 tables... not too shabby.  The mid/high rollers at Party seem to be on tilt tonight, paying off like slot machines.  And the really dangerous ones (there are some to be sure... Kayber is one, and there are many more) were notably absent.
  • I think I deleted my post instead of just modifying it.

Great pay day Devin. Perfect timely right before Christmas too, it will certainly pay for the gas to the starbucks. You're not too far from those two hospitals are you?
  • Thanks west... that was an interesting trip.  I went into Sick Kid's to get a coffee, and the Starbucks was closed.  But man, a few days before Christmas, and those people in there... I don't know.  I all of a sudden felt extremely selfish, given how tonight and the year has gone for me.

Anyways, if anyone else has had a good year, and I know many of you have...

    http://www.sickkidsfoundation.com/
  • There are some days where I feel that way too. Makes me realize how fortunate I am to just be able to do the many things I do and have the many things I have.

Not sure if anyone else have heard of this, but Phil Gordon started this...great cause www.badbeatoncancer.org

I agree Devin ... please do support this most worthy institution.

In fact, I just made my annual donation ... Angela and I have funds set up at both Sick Kids and McMaster Children's Hospital, in memory of our son Liam. Sick Kids, where he had his open heart surgery, and McMaster, where he was treated most of the time, and ultimately passed away.

    Have a great Christmas everyone!!

  • I guess this is an extra Christmas present. I've played maybe 2000 hands of O8 in my life, yet:

PokerStars Tournament #16686045, Limit Omaha Hi/Lo

    Tournament started - 2005/12/25 - 00:15:00 (ET)
    Tournament finished - 2005/12/25 - 04:27:40 (ET)
    1: SirWatts (Waterloo), $864.00 (30%)
    2: FoodChainTop (Toledo), $576.00 (20%)
    3: Mucky McMuck (Seattle), $342.72 (11.90%)
    4: DaTrashman13 (Alliance), $230.40 (8%)
    5: salmonmanak (Copper Center), $187.20 (6.50%)
    6: KIP W (CARROLLTON), $144.00 (5%)
    7: minxkitten (cypress), $100.80 (3.50%)
    8: thatsmysky (regina), $74.88 (2.60%)
    9: saliechty (Indianapolis), $48.96 (1.70%)

Go figure. If I had half the luck I needed to win this in a holdem tournament.... I don't know why the guy offered to chop it heads up, but given I've played exactly 0 hands of HU O8 in my life I accepted pretty quickly.
  • Nice score. I've played a bit of O/8 in my time, but never heads up. I wouldn't know where to begin. First you have to figure out if he's going high or low, or both, and then figure out how strong his high hand or his low hand or his draw is... man, just chop it up lol.
  • Woohoo, a nice Xmas present for me too. I remember reading this post and being angry that I had no big dings of my own, but I finally broke thru tonight!

  • welllllllllllllllllll its supposed to be a thread for first place finishes in multis, but someother people have subverted it a bit so thats cool.
Since I started this damn thread im gonna ammend it to be any time you have the DING DING DING sound go off in your head for whatever reason, then go ahead and post about it!! :)

    Nice wins all!

  • Do the Stars' 180 SnG's count?

    Bill
  • Yeah of course!
  • Well then DING DING DING for my best payday to date...2nd in a 180 SnG yesterday...720 bux or so methinks...sorry, already deleted the note from PS.

I may actually try to play more of these...was nice to see my good hands hold up all the way through except for the very last hand where my ATs was beaten by the winner's K9o...he had the stack at that point though as he just demolished the 2nd place guy at that time. I did get all-in with AKs against 77 and turn a straight to go from 8th to 3rd but that was as close to sucking out as I got.

    Bill
  • This thread will get to 1,000 pages real quick if folks start hearing ding ding ding for winning 4x a buy in.

I enjoy reading about the wins, and Irondoc I mean no disrespect but seriously did you really hear ding ding ding for this?

I think he was referring to the $20+2 180 players SnG
  • That would explain a lot...in that case congrats Irondoc well done.
  • Yeah 4x a buy-in is nothing to write home about, but 36x ain't so bad! I'll have to win one of these 180 people SnG's before I post in this thread again...but i want that elusive bigger MTT...this year. At least my account FINALLY blew through the old high!

    Bill
  • Just chopped after a seesaw HU battle in Stars $20+2 PLHE
    for $740 - At one point I was outchipped 213K to 16K
He had about 2-1 when we chopped

Definitely my best score to date and hopefully
    a preview of Beanie's on Saturday  :D
